Reckage99 says "A healthy and tasty way to start the day." about Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal

I first saw quaker oat weight control oatmeal, couple weeks ago while I was shopping I liked the idea with having extra fiber and protein to keep you full. Which it does! I stayed full off this this packet of oatmeal for up to 5 hours. Anyway I first tried the Banana bread oatmeal and it was great, it even smelled like banana bread taking it out of the microwave.

Next I tried the cinnamon flavor, I actually like this flavor at much as the banana bread because I like cinnamon flavor things.

Then I tried the Maple and brown sugar, I thought this one tasted pretty good too, it was sweeter then the other flavors but it had kinda of like a "artificial" taste but I still loved how it tasted.

Overall

banana bread 5/5

cinnamon 4.5/5

maple and brown sugar 4/5
...

butterbean21 says "Weight Control Maple Brown Sugar nastiness!" about Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal

I had a box of Quaker Oats Maple Brown Sugar weight control in my cupboard, and thought I would eat that on a Sunday as oppose to cereal.

Let me just say that the foul odor of this cereal has not left our household for 2 days now, and I scrubbed the microwave clean, and threw a few oranges and lemons in our garbage disposal after dumping this toxic waste down the sink

The smell is very powerful, and then becomes rancid, and almost smells like a bad batch of very strong and odorous spices.

I would not recommend this cereal, and I am an oatmeal lover.

The taste is very strong, and has that "artificial" flavor, and then it becomes offensive, and once you microwave this, the odor will not leave your house for days, and transforms into a very toxic, unpleasant smell.

Stick to the Regular Quaker Oatmeal, as I eat the peaches and cream, plain, strawberries and cream, but won't touch this with a ten foot spoon ever!
...

mattn says "Quaker weight control oatmeal is a really "smart" formulation" about Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal

There have been a lot of healthy options offered by packaged food manufacturers, but most offer a simple, easy to understand statement such as "low-fat, low-sugar or "no-trans fats." This, however, is a much more studied, intelligent offering. It's high in protein and fiber (both of which make you feel full), and its low in sugar. It has more calories than their regular flavored instant, but that's not the point. If it makes you feel full, you'll eat less later. That's the point. Kudos to Quaker for recognizing that consumers are intelligent.
...

My kids would only eat cereal but i decided to try oatmeal and to my surprise they love it and it has protein to help keep you full longer. They really love the Banana Bread flavor. As for me it helps keep the weight down and keeps me full alot longer. I only wish they had more flavors like they do with other brands. Overall i would recommend this to other friends and family members as a great breakfast other than the sugary cereal alot of them eat everyday. ...

I love oatmeal, but I hate that a normal packet is not filling enough. I try to eat healthy, but it kind of defeats the point when I have to eat multiple packets of oatmeal in the morning to get through to lunch.

I'm not sure what it is about the weight control oatmeal, but it seems to thicken up to make a greater volume of finished oatmeal. One pack not only tastes great, but it also keeps going all the way through 'til lunch! Plus, it's fast and easy to make.
...

I know oatmeal is healthy, but I had a coupon for a free box of this oatmeal so I decided to get it. I love Quaker oatmeal but not this one, this was the last box of Weight Control oatmeal I will ever buy. Just a bite or two and yucko! Even when I tried to add a few things to it, a little butter, sugar, anything to make it taste a little better, but nothing helped it! Like I said, I love Quaker but I wouldn't recommend the Weight Control oatmeal, try something else....

This is very easy to cook, so that's why I decided to try it. I wish there were more flavors available, but I am making due with what they have. My husband also loves the oatmeal because he has high cholestrol and is also trying to stay slim! Even my kids can make this for themselves!...

Quaker Oatmeal has always been my favorite. With their Weight Control Oatmeal, you get more fiber and thus more healthy benefits. It tastes great and it really helps fill me up. There is almost nothing as satisfying as a bowl of hot oatmeal on a chilly day....

Mobarber1973 says "Mmmmmm... I really like this stuff!" about Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal

I really enjoy eating this oatmeal for breakfast! The banana flavor is my favorite! I have to admit that I frequently add 'a little something' to my oatmeal, so the flavor is not exactly as it would be straight from the package. I like my oatmeal really creamy, so I usually add a little fat free half 'n' half (Land O' Lakes brand) or Fat Free/ Sugar Free International Delight French Vanilla coffee creamer... and some mornings if I'm in the mood for something sweeter, I add a packet of artificial sweetener. I don't know if "Weight Control" is exactly an accurate name for this product, but I do feel it helps to fill me up, so that I don't get hungry so soon after breakfast, and I don't usually need anything else for breakfast but this (except for my coffee, of course!). I really like that there's a good amount of protein and fiber in this product, and with individual packets, you've got built-in portion control!...

I LOVE banana anything so naturally when I saw this weight control banana nut flavored Quaker oatmeal I was very excited. I couldn't wait to try it. I wish I had. It is disgusting! It certainly does not taste anything like bananas. It certainly does not taste like banana nut bread. UGGH!!!! The artificial sweetner taste is horribly overpowering. The consistancy of this stuff is really weird too. I usually really like oatmeal, but this stuff was like wallpaper paste. I found no redeeming quality in this product at all....

I have always liked Quaker Oatmeal and decided to give the Weight Control a try. I didn't find anything wrong with the taste, but once again, it's a processed food which we all know has many questionable ingredients that aren't really good for you. I will stick to the 1-minute Quaker Oatmeal which is every bit as good with just a little brown sugar Splenda and milk and much better for me. It's just as easy to prepare and gives me the fiber I need and is very filling....
