I made a mistake the other day. I was in a hurry and the store brand cotton swabs were only $1.00 so I bought them. That was my first mistake, buying the store brand instead of the original Q Tips Cotton Swabs. My second one was actually using the store brand cotton swabs.

We use Q Tips Cotton Swabs for lots of personal care items and with two small children in the house it is important that our cotton swabs are study, reliable, and soft. Q Tips Cotton Swabs are all those things. They are easily available at just about any store, they are made with 100% cotton and I can use them for anything from putting on make up to cleaning a babies belly button.

Q Tips Cotton Swabs packaging leaves a little something to be desired. Some think that the easy to tear tab is convenient, but for me it just seems like it is not exactly hygenic that germs can get into the box ever time it is opened, that it is open a small bit or when people forget to tuck it back in.

Bottom-Line: All-n-all Q-Tips Cotton Swabs have found a permanent place in my home.

Q-Tips Cotton Swabs, they are one of the A---American products I remember from my childhood. My mother always kept a box in the bathroom for cleaning around the ears, never inside! And so I have always purchased Q-Tips Cotton Swabs because I consider them the best of breed.

I tend to purchase store brands of personal care supplies. Consistently saving money with the little things can add up over time. However, my husband was doing the shopping for me. I forgot to write down the store brand (Assured) of cotton swabs that actually did not fall off the sticks. We had been particularly disappointed with several store brands in which the cotton would come off the sticks when used. Therefore, my husband decided to get the name brand Q Tips so that he would not end up purchasing the poorly made ones.

What I like about Q Tips

sturdy sticks
100% cotton

What I don't like about Q Tips

cotton comes off stick
more expensive than other brands
not a choice of colors (My kids particularly like different colored ones)

My Viewpoint:

One would think that the name brand, which costs more, would be of better quality. Nope. Not even close. The sticks are sturdier than most of the store brand cotton swabs, but if you plan to actually clean something with a Q Tip brand...

I have a bad habit of calling all cotton swabs Q-tips. Even the generic brands, I refer to them as generic Q-tips, and I guess it's because for me there is no substitute for the brand name Q-tip.

When times were tough financially, I tried some of the less expensive cotton swabs. Most of the time, they were just the store brand and I have always regretted buying the cheap ones. They aren't the same. Q-tip brand cotton swabs are softer, fuller, and are more durable than any other brand. The stick is flexible, making it easy to clean the ears and other areas.

Any doctor will tell you that you should never place a Q-tip (or any other cotton swab) directly inside the ear. We have been warned repeatedly of the dangerous of doing this, but our family does it anyway. There is just no better way to remove a few drops of water after a shower, or a dip in the pool. PLUS, it just feels good!

Q-tips are for much more than just cleaning ears though. They are great for these...

Well in a pinch when they are not on sale I have bought other brands. But they are not of the same quality. I have found they stick together better. So I watch for a good sale and stock up the closet. Some things are just not worth giving up for a deal....

Q-Tips cost a little more than store brands, but are definitely worth it. They are made of 100% cotton, packaged in a convenient mostly see-through container, and have sturdy stems. I have tried other name brands and store brand swabs, but no other is as comfortable, safe and trustworthy as Q-Tips. I will not buy any other brand for these reasons, and highly recommend them. You can usually find Q-Tips on sale locally at a chain store, and combined with coupons (online or print), they are nearly as inexpensive as lesser, far inferior brands....
