HoundMusic says "Perfect Puppy Food For Growing Healthy Pups" about Purina Puppy Chow

I have used Purina products for my adults on/off for a few years now, but my first experience with Puppy Chow was over a year ago. I've been breeding Beagles since 2005, we also hunt & occasionally show our hounds. Needless to say, I am VERY selective about the results a food produces. So, when I purchased Puppy Chow in a bind, I was amazed at the improvement in the condition of my bitch and 3 week old pups over their previous brand, Merrick. This was supposed to be something to hold them until I could get a better food, but the differences in health were so dramatic I chose to stick with Puppy Chow, and have done so ever since!

This was not just an ordinary litter of pups, either. Born a full week premature, this was a high maintenance, weak, slow to develop litter. One was hypoglycemic at birth and even after supplementation was having trouble maintaining blood sugar and body temperature. A pup so chilled like she was is bound for trouble later down the line. Their...
...

kenzieb1 says "Worst food you could feed your pet." about Purina Puppy Chow

Don't listen to anyone who says this is a good food for your pet. I work at a pet store and am very familiar with all different kinds of pet foods. If you go into a speciality store like PetSmart, Petco, or Pet Supplies Plus, this is the absolute worst kind of food you can buy for your dog. Yes, it's cheap, but it's also filled with By-products and corn. Each are cheap fillers, and are absolutely disgusting to feed your animal. By-products can be any part of the animal including hair and beaks and other parts of the body that aren't meant to be eaten. Corn doesn't do anything for your pet except for make it eat more and go to the bathroom more. While Purina Puppy Chow may seem like a cheap way to feed your animal, they actually eat more of this cheap food, and you might end up spending the same as you would if you fed a premium food. Don't feed this food!!
...

I did a lot of reading and asking around at my local vets and online and I found that Puppy Chow is one of the best choices if you cant afford the expensive brands like iams or science diet and the many others . When you puppy is in his first years he needs to have at least a puppy food with atleast 24% protein and puppy chow has 27% I have a 4 month old GSD and this is what he is eating and I have not had any problems and he looks beautiful . I will post a pic of him soon I was on the wrong computer at the time .

but now my chihuahua's they like their beneful they are 2 and 6 years old..

my fish they dont like neither : )
...

I have fostered many skinny puppies from the Humane Society. When they get to my house they have not been treated as a pampered pooch should have been. They immediately start feeling more energetic with proper nutrition. The pups grow healthy and happy after just a couple of weeks on Purina Puppy Chow. Great start in their new lives!...

I do not like feeding my dogs any food that contains meat by products. You should always check the ingredients on the bag ,the first one should be chicken, lamb, etc . No "by products" after the meat. It is very important to feed our furry babies veggies and fruits. All dog food companies should add vitamins and minerals . It is very , very important to have the Omega vitamins for skin and coat. Also their is to much wheat and corn added to the majority of dog foods. Those ingrediants tend to cause skin allergies....

I have a puppy that loves soft food, but I can't stand the smell of it. I found that Purina puppy chow has a version with softer chewy pieces in it, and my dog LOVES it. We tried giving him every type of dry puppy food, and this one is by far his favorite. The other thing I have noticed is that his coat seems shinier and healthier since he's been eating the puppy chow. A+!...

Its affordable at the 17lb size and lasts for almost two weeks. My dogs are all 15lbs or less.Terrier and poodle and bichon mix. Even my two older dogs seem to love this food. Its easy for them to digest. And they will even do tricks for this food as a treat. So I'm pleased to buy it for them.I would recommend to any one.
...

I love buying purina puppy chow for my dog because I know that he is getting the nutrients he needs to grow into a healthy, happy adult. He loves the taste of the healthy morsels and it doesnt bother his stomach. I have tried different brands, and my puppy did not seem to have as much energy and did not seem to like the food or eat very much of it. I have noticed since switching to purina puppy chow he has had very little, if any, episodes of upset stomach and vomiting. It is high in protein, vitamins, and minerals. So it helps my puppy stay active and strong, which is very important for him since he is already a big boy. I care about and love my puppy very much, and I want to give him the best care....
