Our Alaska cruise was wonderful.

The food was great. The side trips were will worth the money.

The one missing element was on board entertainment.

I felt that the performers were not fiur or five star. Not real professionals.

The crew were great. The stewart waspleasant and helpful. The International dining roog crew were also very nice.
...

LCreamer says "Bad service & pushy sales tactics." about Princess Cruises - Star Princess Alaska

Our family of 4 travelled on the Princess Star through the Alaskan Inland Passage from Seattle, round trip. This was July 6, 2008 through July 13, 2008.

In the past we have traveled Princess before and loved the service. But, this time we found the staff to be very unfriendly and at times downright rude. We feel that since the cruiseline changed their policy to the mandatory daily tip, nobody has an incentive to try harder now.

We also had extremely pushy sales tactics for the "Coke promotion", "wine tasting", and salon services. The salon had the nerve to tell me my name had been picked in a drawing and I had WON a facial - at a "discounted" price of $79.95!

After returning home, I talked to others that had gone Princess Cruise Lines in the last couple years and they said the service was very bad on their's too.

I won't choose Princess again.
...

Star Princess is a great ship with excellent service and amenities. We stayed in a balcony room and loved the view in the mornings and at sunset. The ship has so many great things to offer. The entertainment is first rate as is the service. Highly recommend the martini of the day. Our rooms were maintained beautifully and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend any Princess cruise but I especially love the Star Princess....

SusieQ says "The "Star Princess" Alaskan Cruise was one of the best ever." about Princess Cruises - Star Princess Alaska

We boarded the Star Princess in Seattle. It was August 2nd and we were off for a full seven night, 8 day cruise. The ship itself was magnificient. It was elegantly designed with beautiful artwork and intricate designs throughout the ship. I would recommend a balcony room for this cruise. You will spend alot of time on your balcony viewing the beautiful scenery. This isn't a cruise to the Carribbean where all you see is water, water, water. You will see some of the most beautiful mountains. And if you look real close, you may even see a mountain goat or an eagle dip down into the open waters and grab his lunch for the day. The food on this ship was good. A different theme each day. Of course they had pizza and sandwiches for the hard to please. There were even a couple of specialty restaurants in which you could make reservations (For these, you had to pay). You never got bored because there were activities every minute of the day. You could play Family Feud...
...
