leechita says "princess cruises- horrible at accomodating" about Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess

Due to the whole Swine Flu outbreak, Princess Cruises was "obligated" to cancel all stops in Mexico. I don't understand why the money hungry cruise line couldn't just accomodate passengers that DO NOT like the itinerary changes and give them the option to go on a Mexican Riviera some other time...instead now I'm stuck with going on a cruise that I don't agree on and all because of the Passage Contract and Princess' rights to change ports without refunds.

I urge everyone to boycott or at least think twice before choosing to travel with Princess Cruise line. Clearly they are out to cover themselves and leave you out to drown. I am extremely dissapointed and will NEVER travel with them again. EVER.

Oh and just so you better understand where I'm coming from- I live in Los Angeles and the alternate ports are Santa Barbara, San Diego, and San Francisco. These are all cities I can go to on any given day or weekend. It does not make up for the hundreds of dollars I paid to see MEXICO!...
...

Sarge13 says "Diamond Princess Alaskan cruise was a once in lifetime trip" about Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Alaska this past summer on a tour that was arranged through Princess Cruises. We had a 7 days of land cruising that were filled with informative tour guides, breathtaking scenery & wildlife, great lodges and food. We then spent 7 days on the Diamond Princess which included stops at Juneau, Skagway, Ketchican.

We enjoyed some fantastic side trips including flightseeing to a glacier, a totem pole tour and lumberjack shows.

This was our first cruise and we throughly enjoyed ourselves and would go back again and again to both Alaska or to other locations that Princess offers tours.
...

shopperguy says "Great experience" about Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess

We've been on three Princess cruises and each has been very enjoyable. I never expected to like cruises, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Traveling wtihout hassling with hotel rooms, baggage transfers, etc. is a relief. Ship staff are helpful and courteous. Prices are quite reasonable (we're thrifty travelers). Destinations are well picked, and tours are worth the money. Only negative is that the visits to cities are shorter than we'd like--but one has to sacrifice something, and you simply have to plan ahead to make the best use of your time ashore. We've just booked another one, to the Caribbean....

I took the Princess Cruise Line to Alaska last year. It was amazing, I had never been on a cruise before and I had the experience of a lifetime. 24-hr buffet=major plus! I got to see an entirely different side of America and venture into territory I had yet to see (Canada). The help was amazing, It was like staying in a 5-star hotel that floated on water. There was always fun stuff to do for the entire family! I will definitely be going again!
...

I would for sure go again! It was a great time. The only thing that I did not like was that the water was pretty rough and was sick pretty much ever evening. I still had a great time being sick. There was so much to do on and off the boat. It was amazing....

William says "One of the best ships we have sailed on, a city in itself" about Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess

The Diamond Princess is an enormous ship, 3000+ passengers.
We sailed from Singapore to Sydney during their 19 day cruise.
The variety of restaurants as well as room service helps to break up
any monotony of dining at the exact same table, at the exact same time
with the exact same wait staff as in the old days of cruising. There is, however,
the traditional dining room available for those that prefer that their favorite drink
is waiting for them when they are seated every night.

The on-board entertainment is fairly standard as cruise ships go, we look forward to
the comedians, for our taste, it's still the best form of show available on board.

The staff are very pleasant, helpful and courteous.

There are so many choices to sit and have a drink or read a book, quiet areas like the library or on the promenade deck are an enjoyable place to pass the time.

We cruise for the love of the sea and to visit places we would never get to on our own, for example, this cruise took us to Vietnam. We would......

kwhitw says "The ship is beautiful and the staff is customer oriented." about Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess

We went on the Diamond Princess from Whittier to Vancouver in June 2007. We were happy to be upgraded from an inside to a balcony cabin even though it was in front of the ship. The cruise staff provided great entertainment and were service oriented. The food was excellent and so was the wait staff. We really enjoyed our cruise very much. The only negative comment I had was that the internet was no longer free for Platinum members, only had a limited number of minutes free, but since we were in a port every day I didn't have much time to use the internet anyway!

...
