My family and I have eaten at Portillos for years. They have the best hot dogs that you can get however you want. They also have the best Char broiled Chicken Sandwiches. If Ribs something you love wait till you try these mouthwatering ribs. You can get 1/2 or full slab and all for a great price. If you love Italian Beef sandwiches I suggest you try their Italian beef. Especially with Mozzarella cheese. Yummy. You can find anything for anyone at their restaurant. All ages all tastes. And very affordable for a sit down restaurant. Maybe a little bit more than your local fast food joint but 100 % better in taste.

Aside from the food they have the best Chocolate cake for dessert. Looking for an affordable way to get food for graduation, baby shower, wedding shower, ect. Their prices are great and you get a varity of food.

They have it all at Portillos. As well as great customer service and fast. I have never had to wait very long for our food when going to Portillos. But the people make...

I really must say, when you aren't from the Chicago area, and have to drive an hour to get it, Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches simply cannot be compared to!! Couple that with a frosty mug of beer and you have one of Chicago's treasures in front of you! I used to go to the Northlake site when I worked in Melrose Park!...

Used to be that Portillos was synonomous with Italian beef sandwiches, the standard by which all other beef sandwiches were judged. Recently, I ate at the Portillos newer location in Oswego, IL, having also eaten at both Naperville locations as well as the Batavia, IL location. In any event, I am left with the conclusion that as the chain expands and gets larger, the quality is lost and the food tastes like most fast food places -pre -packaged, pre-digested, non descript. The beef has not specific taste and the gravy which used to elevate the bread to a delicacy all in itself is pretty bland-colored salty water at best. On our most recent visit, , my daughter successfully lobbied for us to order and split the Barnelli's rib dinner. We elected to have the onion rings instead of fries which was probably the best choice of the meal. While the meat was properly cooked, moist, tender and falling off the bones....the famous sauce was almost non-existent and lacking in any sort of...

I love this place!!! I have been eating at Portillo's since 1998 and maybe even longer than that.....Their food is always fresh, fast and delicious!!! I love that I can get a Beef n Cheese crossaint or a salad with grilled chicken and pecans...and most locations have a Barnelli's so if i'm in the mood for an italian style sandwich or some spaghetti and garlic bread, I CAN!!! I love it!!!!

Bottom-Line: A bit pricy, but the food is good, service reasonably fast, and locations accessible.

There is one startling characteristic all Chicago area Portillo's Hot Dog restaurants seem to share: the long line of cars that literally wrap around the restaurant waiting for their chance to pull up to the drive-through window and receive their fill of the eatery's eclectic fair. And I do mean ALL Chicago area Portillo's Hot Dog restaurants; no matter where I go in the Chicagoland area, where there is a Portillo's Hot Dog restaurant there is a long line of cars, sometimes two lanes idling outside the eatery.

And it's not as if one cannot go into the restaurant and sit down and eat; indeed the joints are pretty big affairs and the parking lots are almost always full, so folks are inside too. Having eaten the restaurants food, I can attest that the lines are fully justified-even though my wife would not agree-the food although it be fast, is overwhelmingly delicious.
