missouladeborah says "Pontiac Vibe has met all my expectations" about Pontiac Vibe - 2005

I conducted several months of research on vehicles before deciding which car to purchase. Gas mileage, safety, reliability, and style were my main objectives when searching. I even brought my father into the research to find out where the different parts of the cars were built. My decision came down to the Pontiac Vibe with the affordability factor for a new car. I've LOVED this vehicle. As a real estate agent in western MT, I need a vehicle that can go anywhere. I've had this car on city streets, county roads, logging roads covered with snow, mud, ice, etc.

The reliability has been excellent. I make sure to get the oil changes, air filter changes and after over 70,000 miles in 4+ years this car just keeps on moving. I just purchased my 3rd set of tires and was asked if I was going to be keeping the vehicle and I responded, "heck YES!!"
...

My Pontiac Vibe has to be the best car I've ever owned. This car is equipped with AWD, sunroof, auto locks, and so much more. And when you need to move something rear seat folds down for extra space. The high back seat give more leg room where it feels similar to a trucks leg room. Very family orientated with built in latch system & child safety locks. If you're budget conscious and looking for a car great on gas then taste this one for a test drive.
...

sgtbobn says "economical, fun to drive, reliable car" about Pontiac Vibe - 2005

We purchased our 2005 Pontiac Vibe in June 2007 when we returned from Germany. Before we left, we sold our minivan. It had quite a few miles on it, and we just didn't need anything that big anymore. My wife loved the look of the Vibe, so I started looking for info about them. I found many favorable reviews. We found one in really good shape for a good price. This car gets great gas mileage (39 MPG on the last tank). It's also really sporty and fun to drive with a great stereo. We've put 60,000 on it over the last two years and (knock on wood) no major problems. There is plenty of room for our family and daily needs, but when the seats are folded down, there's lots of room for all kinds of large items. We've never missed our minivan. I definitely plan on looking into buying another Vibe in the future. It's been my favorite car out of all the ones I've owned over the years. And the most reliable.
...

We purchased this car when we were forced to get a new vehicle. Made several trips to dealerships, test driving everything from a Chevy Cobalt to several different models of Kia. My husband travels about 80 miles round trip to work so it had to be fuel efficient and dependable first, were looking for comfort second. We went back to dealership to purchase a different car and the salesman showed us the Vibe, talked us into test driving it and I fell in love with it immediately. Went home thought to think about it and do some research, we don't buy cars very often, this was a major purchase for us that we knew we would keep for a long time. I read reviews on this car and was impressed, we decided to go for it and have not been disapointed. This car has never been in for repairs and it is on the road several days a week. The fuel economy is great and the car is very comfortable. I can't say enough about the dependabilty of this car, we have been very, very pleased, it's a great......

mrsbubbag says "Great MPG Terribly constructed" about Pontiac Vibe - 2005

The Pontiac Vibe does get great MPG about 29 in the city and 35 on the highway. However, this is where the greatness of thie car comes to a screeching halt. The vehicle is poorly constructed form the bad weather stripping that had to be replaced within 15 mon. to the bad clutch that went out after 15K miles to the uncomfortable seats which had to be repaired.

Do not trade MPG for quality, you cannot get both in this car.
...

I bought the Vibe when gas prices started to go up. I couldn't be more pleased. Coming from driving a van and putting $60 a week in to a Vibe and using $30 a week.

Roomy enough to haul my 3 kids around. The style is great looking. It drives smooth. Lots of storage compartments.

Only con I could come up with is the front bumbers are plastic. Therefore hitting any small thing will hurt the car.
...
