heatherco says "Polaroid 26" LCd tv/dvd- Poor product poor support" about Polaroid - 26" LCD/DVD Television

I purchased a new Polaroid 26" LCD tv/dvd combo. The TV stopped working COMPLETELY within 5 months. This t.v was in an extra room and used LESS THAN 150 HOURS. My daughter was watching it and it completely shut off. No picture, no sound. I could not reach an actual human on the toll free number. I did receive an email telling me to fax the receipt, after I filed an online complaint, yet no one contacted me. After two and a half months of calling several times a week, and being on hold by the automated toll free number for 15-20 minutes without ever reaching a human, I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. Polaroid responded to BBB the same day and said "this model is sold under license agreement with Proview Technology, Inc. They sell and service this model. This product is not supported by Polaroid Corporation". I paid FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for this piece of junk product. I should have been informed by Polaroid in the beginning that they did not handle any complaints for...
...

MJM929 says "Excellent TV, Bad DVD, Terrible Customer Support" about Polaroid - 26" LCD/DVD Television

The 26" Polaroid TV/DVD combo does a great job as a TV. The picture is crystal clear, the sound is excellent. It's everything you could want in a TV.

But the problems arise with the DVD player. About 6 months after buying, the DVD player stopped playing DVDs. I called Polaroid for support, but they told me that without the original receipt (regardless of the fact that my purchase is registered with them), they would not honor my warranty...unless I paid for the part and shipping on my own. Some warranty. After a little more research, I discovered this is a common problem with Polaroid TVs. I also discovered that even if you have the original receipt, once a year passes they don't offer any type of support. None whatsoever.

So if you need a great TV for a good price, go for it. If you want a DVD player with it or good technical support, go somewhere else.
...

princesspam89 says "Excellent picture and sound, Love it." about Polaroid - 26" LCD/DVD Television

This is my first lcd tv and I love it. It has been easy to use and understand, looks great and sounds great too. It was easy to set up and the remote control is very user friendly. I got it on sale and it was very inexpensive for what you get. I trust the polaroid name since it is a common brand that most everyone has heard of. The cords to plug in are easy to figure out, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to use this tv. The only thing I don't care much for is the base stand. I don't have anything else to compare to, so maybe they are all like this, but considering how wide and tall the tv is, the base seems a little cheap. It's kind of flimsy. The tv wobbles a bit if you have it on something, like a dresser, that you will be opening & closing drawers on. Other than that, it's awesome. Love it, would recommend it to a friend....
