I picked up this cup because I forgot my son's sippy on the counter and we were going out to have a full day of shopping. This cup is a really good transition cup however it does drip some from the straw. I would buy more of these cups. But I would not fill my cabinets with them.
...

The Playtex Insulator Straw Cup in the nine ounce size may be purchased at many mass market retailer locations. It is a decent cup for those looking for features like spill proof, insulated, refillable, travel, and age appropriate cup for their child or young toddler. The cup is easy to fill, but hard to clean. The straw tends to clog up and is terribly frail. My toddler bit pieces off while using it. Not a cup that is safe for a teething toddler unless used with extreme supervision. I was not able to find replacement straws for this model at any store in my local area. I would only recommend this Playtex Insulated Straw Cup with reservations, since it is hard to clean and your child may or may not bite pieces from the straw. If Playtex could improve these aspects, and possibly include a spare straw in the pack, I could more easily say this is an excellent value for the mother on the go.
...

My daughter loved this cup I hate the difficulty in cleaning the straw. Also I wanted to buy new straws because my Daughter is a staw biter and I had a hard time finding refills. I did manage to find the refills but they were almost as expensive as buying a new cup....

this product is well worth paying for. its durable-my 2 yr. old son has thrown it on the ground many times and it has not broke. easy to clean and store. i also have a 15 month old granddaughter that drinks from these cups without any problems. she has also thrown it on the ground a few too many times and still intact. great for on the go, except when they turn the cup upside down- it'll drip quaranteed. love this product. bought more for my neices and nephews....

Once my son learned to drink from a straw, he refused to drink out of the normal sippy cups which meant I had to find just the right sippy cup with a straw. I went through several before making this a permanent addition. We had one cup that was almost impossible to clean and finally I used a knife to pry it apart because of a terrible odor coming from the cup only to find curdled milk tucked away inside. Yes - disgusting! But not with this cup - there are three parts - the short straw that you see on the outside, the longer straw that is on the inside & the cover for the straw on the outside. These parts come part & fit back easily & it's so much easier to keep this cup clean....

After my son was broke from the bottle and he had been on sippy cups for a while my husbad and I thought these cups would be a good experience to moving forward. When we gave the cup to our son he didnt know what to do with it because the straw was bendy and he was used to turning the cup upside and this one would leak all over him. So we used these cups for maybe a week then we gave them away....

Momtog says "Good Sippy Straw Cup for that Throwing Toddler" about Playtex The Insulator Straw Cup Sport 9 oz

Playtex Insulator sports cup can keep a drink cold for hours. Its strong durability is a plus especially when you have a child who is a constant thrower. The straw stays put and the straw cover is a added plus to keep sanitary and clean on outings.

This cup is my son's favorite. We love the colors and the design. We found that after several months of use the one flaw that I found in cleaning this straw sippy cup is after pulling the straw out if you look in there you will find mold and black gunk that is impossible to get out. I washed this cup by hand and by dishwasher and still can't seem to get that part clean. Soaking didn't even seem to get this clean. If anyone has any tips on cleaning this out I'd love to hear them.
...

Jessica says "These straw cups are nice, but not fun to clean and store." about Playtex The Insulator Straw Cup Sport 9 oz

Playtex's Insulator Sport Straw Cups come in the same colors and patterns as the sippy cups. Mine are purple and pink to suit HRH's feminine tastes. Instead of a lateral spout, the child sips from a silicone straw which cannot be removed from the top of the cup. A flip-top is built into the lid and can be closed over the straw to keep it from getting dirty or leaking. I can remove this flip-top to wash it separately, but I have to be determined because it clamps very tightly to the lid.

Unfortunately, the two things that impressed me the most about Playtex's sippy cup are not repeated in their straw cup. First, the cup is not leak-proof unless the flip-top is closed. When it is open, if the cup lays on its side, a slow but steady stream of liquid will dribble out of the air-vent and the straw. If HRH turns it upside down, she is fascinated by the drips. This is not a deal-breaker, since the straw cup only claims to be spill-proof, not leak-proof. The real disappointment is the difficulty......
