In theory this product sounds like a good idea. In honesty lets face it when the child is old enough to use this product they've already learned to wrap their legs around you and they are not going to want to be trapped wiggle free in a contraption! Its difficult to get on and even harder to get a squirming child to willingly put their legs into. I used it three times before I gave up. If you love having a back ache that last three days, having a screaming child attached to your hip (literally) and spending a wad of money on something useless then this is the product for you.
...

I had tried a couple of different slings and wraps with my baby and just couldn't really find on that I truly loved to continue using as my kids got a bit bigger. I was so excited when I saw the Playtex Hip Hammock Child Carrier as I thought it would be the perfect design to address the issue of trying to keep my squirmy toddler on my hip and still allowing me to have a free hand to grocery shop or hunt for something in the diaper bag while at the zoo, etc. I really really tried to love it but it is just uncomfortable...for me and my child. The shoulder strap digs into me no matter how I adjust it and it kills my back as well. My daughters legs seem to be pulled so far apart that it just doesn't seem like she can be comfortable and she starts to fuss and try to push away from me the minute I try to put her in it and she was never like that when I would wear her in my Snugli carrier so I have to think it is a discomfort issue with her. I wish it would have worked better for...
...

I love our Hip Hammock. I have used it for two children now. Anywhere from 3 months (13 pounds) to a 2.5 year old (25 pounds). Easy to adjust. Love that it rolls up and can be easily stored and stashed away. Not too bulky. Not flashy at all, which I love. Comfy for baby too. Nice lining and padded shoulder strap for mom. Cute!...

This was the only carrier my daughter would ever ride in. It's great because baby isn't so constricted to your body. It still gives them room to move around, but you still have an extra hand to get stuff done. It's also great for those times your shopping and baby only wants to be carried. It saves your arms from getting tired so fast and you can still do your shopping.
...

Definatel not as good as it is hyped up to be. Such a chore just putting it on and taking baby in and out of it. My child actually was akward and uncomfortable in it, so by the time you start doing whatever you are trying to accomplish the child is over it and try getting them out of it safely (YEAH RIGHT)...sold mine for $2 after it being brand new!...

My daughter outgrew her front carrier but she still wanted to be held close sometimes instead of riding in the stroller. I bought this and love it!!! I didn't find it hard to adjust. You put the waist strap on and loosen the shoulder strap, add the child then place the shouder strap over your shoulder and tighten it. Not too complicated. It is not too compfortable after a six hour trip to the mall though....

I bought the baby bjorn. I tried it a couple of times. It was very difficult to put on and to get baby in and OUT of. Plus my baby was sweating after 2 minutes in it, the fabic was so thick. So, I shopped around for something else. I discovered the baby hammock and LOVE it. Its so easy to get the baby into it and out of....

We purchased this product for your daughter when she was about 1 1/2. She had outgrown her front carrier and loved to be hold so I thought she would enjoy this! She likes it but mommy can only hold her in this for a couple minutes! It hurts your shoulders SO BAD after a SHORT time! I was very disapointed in this product!

I bought this after buying another product, trying to put it together and taking the old one back - toooooo difficult - so this one looked easier. It was much easier to get together - I coudl adjust it well even with him in it - it took a few tries to get used to but I am sure any product like this would. I couldn't justify spending 100 bucks on a Baby Bjorn so this was great alternative. If I had been in a situation where I had to use it with a small infant I would not have been able to use this - it is suggested for babies over 15 pounds or so - once my child was a few months old I used this a lot. He hated riding in the car seat carrier so I would have to put him in this to shop or go out. We took it many places included our first outing to the pumpkin patch - he did great. It's not too girly for my husband to wear either and adjusted easily for his use. ...

This product does its job - and makes your back feel much better! But it is very hard to adjust and difficult to get baby in in with only one person. You need to have two people to get them in! Semi comfortable, but we don't use much since it is so difficult to use....

I didn't find this useful. My boys seemed to be too big for it by 10 mths already. It was hard to get them in and out and didn't seem to be any more comfortable then simply holding them. I found a sling that works much better. I ended up returning this item because I wasn't willing to spend that much money for something that didn't work for me....

I bought this while on vacation with my 9 month old. We were at the ocean and I needed something to keep him close and secure. I felt like he was falling out of it all the time. I also found it to hurt my back and shoulder when I used it for more then 20 minutes. It was not easy to adjust when he was in it and harder to get it right when he was out of it....

I was so excited to buy this product. I'd done some research and all the reviews were good for the Hip Hammock. I bought it the day before we were going to a festival and would be doing tons of walking. My daughter can walk on her own but is too young for that type of event to be on her own. She loves to be carried so she can see what's going on.

Wearing the Hip Hammock was so uncomfortable! Maybe it's because I am a plus sized mom to begin with, but by the time we left my back was aching so badly that I couldn't put my daughter in her car seat. I couldn't adjust it to make it more comfortable; when I tried, my daughter screamed and clung to my shirt. I think she felt like she was falling

I took this back to Target the next day.
...

I really don't like this carrier, the poor babys legs seem to have the circulation cut off. It's not very comfortable for the parent (or grandparent) who's trying to use it and it won't work at all for heavier people. I have seen people using this carrier and they didn't seem to be having any trouble with it though....

This is the most comfortable baby carrier I have ever used. Not only can I have my hands free at all times but I don't get any pains in my body while using it. Its a great product for a mom on the go. you can have both hands free while doing laundry, dishes, cleanin and more with the baby with you at all times. This product also cleans easy and the straps are easily adjustible...
