Children love to be helpers, especially with positive reinforcement. Fisher Price's Dusty the Talking Vacuum provides that and a whole lot of fun.

Facts about Fisher Price's Dusty the Talking Vacuum

Price: $19.99

Recommended age: 3+

Batteries Required: 3 AAA

Fisher Price's Dusty the Talking Vacuum is purple, orange, yellow and turquoise. The rolling eyes, yard twisting "lint," easy to push handle, and a hose just like the real vacuums have children convinced that they are helping mom or dad to clean up clean up. The Fisher Price Dusty the Talking Vacuum also has real vacuum cleaner and suction sounds and thirty different phrases to encourage your child's cleaning efforts.

My Viewpoint: Fisher Price's Dusty the Talking Vacuum is just too much fun. My favorite phrases are "Nobody cleans better than we do," and "Clean you later!" My girls laugh and giggle and are so excited to hear the realistic vacuum sounds. They really think that they are sweeping (if only they were!). This...
...

I bought this toy vacuum at a garage sale for a dollar! My 2 year old loves it (and his 5 year old sister has been known to use it as well, though she is too tall to use it without stooping down).
The vacuum says cute little phrases, which my son loves to repeat. Things like, "who made the mess!" and "we must clean up the dust!". The vacuum talks in a silly voice, but still easy for kids to understand. The vacuum makes a real sucking-up-dirt noise. It is not too loud at all, and has an on/off button (which is also easy for little hands to use). Great toy!
...

The Playskool "Dusty" the vacuum is an excellent toy for a toddler that loves to push things around. My son will grab this and push it around and around the room for close to half an hour at a time. The silly sayings and vacuum sounds are perfect for keeping a toddler's attention. I only wish the vacuum actually picked up dust, I'd never have to do any vacuuming myself again!...

mindyvol says "Doesn't live up to all of the hype" about Playskool Crew Dusty The Talking Vacuum

My mother bought this "must have" toy for my daughter for Christmas in 2006. After perusing parenting magazines and doing online research, this seemed like one of those toys that every child was destined to love.

Well it's 2008 and I'm still waiting for my daughter (or even my son) to love Dusty the Talking Vacuum Cleaner. If it's been used ten times I'd be surprised. I just don't get what all of the hype was about. My daughter has more fun pushing around her play broom (well, sometimes it is used as a light saber) than pretending to vacuum with this toy.

I'll admit that Dusty the Talking Vacuum Cleaner is cute and looks good next to my daughter's play kitchen. Heck, I'll even venture to say that it's kind of cute when he talks. What I can't fathom though, is why this toy is the big deal that it was made out to be. It pretty much sits in the corner of my daughter's room collecting dust. The only reason why we still have it is because I keep thinking that someday she...
...

I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday since she was always fascinated with my vacuum. The only problem is it doesn't stand on it's own very well so she'd get frustrated when it kept falling over if she let go. The voice scared her too. She's 3 now and just started to play with it, but not for a long period of time....

We purchase it for my 2 year old daughter who loves to clean. She uses the toy hoover windtunnel at her grandparents all the time, we thought this was perfect. She only used a handful of times and then was bored with it. My daughter likes toys that make noise and are more realistic like Mommy's or Daddy's. This toy was very durable and the right price but did not get used....

I purchased this item for my daughter for Christams this past year. She was so surprised when she opened the box! The item is colorful which catches the eyes of a child. We were so happy with it! Of course since she is a four year old she is sometimes hard on her toys but so far it has held up to our expectations! She loves to help Mommy clean around the house. It makes her feel grown up and helpful; it actually improves self esteem when a child feels like they are helping....

My three-year-old son when visiting his friend always went for this toy first. When we would leave he would try to take it home. So I finally bought this for him and he has not put it down except for when his one-year-old sister picks it up. It is light enough for my one-year-old to push around and is durable enough for my three-year old son to play with. As far as I am concerned I have already got my moneys worth! Hopefully this will be a toy that they will play with for a few years. My son asks for me to get "mommy's" vacuum out and vacuum the floor with him. It's great that he gets to feel involved in helping me and also that I can get some housework done and not feel like I am not paying attention to him. I would suggest this toy for anyone!...
