TonyDent84 says "The Pilot G-2 Pen Is No Fountain Pen" about Pilot G-2 07 Gel Pens

I had always liked writing with wet pens, from roller balls to gel pens. However, after hearing the high reviews about Pilot's G-2 gel pen, and after about a year of using fountain pens exclusively, I decided to give the G-2 a shot. I bought a package at the supermarket and used it in place of my fountain pens for school notes. Sadly, the G-2 was way overrated as it skipped a lot, the writing wasn't as smooth, and the grip was a cheap mimic of rubber. But then I bought some bite-off package of pens that resembled the G-2 in most respects. It was from a company called Corner Office, and it came in a pack of 4 for only $2.00. These did a much better job than the Pilot pen. Needless to say, however, that I went right back to using fountain pens. And ironically, my favorite fountain pen is my Pilot Vanishing Point. The company is good for something after all :).
...

The Pilot G-2 pens are the gold standard at the Winter Resort where I work. They never fail and write in very dark, clear lines. I have had many other pens break due to the cold and the altitude and these have stood the test of many freezing nights and sudden drops in altitude. They are extremely convenient due to the clicky feature and never leak. If you could only buy one pen for the rest of your career, get these. They also can be used as bartering material for favors. But don't lend them out because you'll never get them back....

They are reliable. One disadvantage is that they don't last as long as the ballpoint pens. The are personally my favorite pen. They are more expensive, but they are well worth it in order to receive the quality you won't receive from any other pen. The wide array of colors make them appropriate for work and home. While there are refills available, it is almost more worth it to just get a new pen. The price to refill as opposed to replace is not significant enough. The 32 gel pen is for beyond any other pen. Suggestions: don't send it through the wash in your pocket, do not color on yourself with it, and don't steal your teacher's. He might get mad. Men, stay with the manly colors, leave the metallic colors to the girls. I don't think they will be going off of the shelves any time in the near future. Another suggestion: don't suck on the end. It turns your month colorful really fast. Buy them in bulk. It is worth storing the extras for a couple weeks. The write smoothly so you can take note,......

If you don't already know Pilot G-2's are the #1 Selling Gel Pen in America. Thus, when discussed it has many great characteristics. I have tried every pen from ballpoint to roller-ball and was about to give up on gel pens for good. Most are too glossy and bleed through the paper. They often leak or stop working half way through. Then, I witnessed a friend of mine using one and writing without any flaws or even skipping because of ink flow. I asked if I could use one for the time being and then fell in love with them. At first I wanted all of the colors and all of the different point styles. Then one morning I found myself writing with a blue G-2 and it was extremely smooth, much smoother than that of any of the other colors. So I bought more of them. Oddly enough, Pilot must have a special likeness for the blue G-2 also because I found that they come in packs of two and four, unlike all the other colors which come in variety packs. I can write for hours and just enjoy the smoothness of......

I actually found one of these pens left behind in a conference room, and thought nothing of it. That night, I spent two hours at my son's soccer practice with only a pad of paper. Being a part-time writer, I started sketching out some story ideas with a pencil. When that broke, I found the G2 pen in my pocket. Now, normally when I write long-hand, if I can go for five pages, it's a good day. Imagine my surprise to find practice over and over 40 pages written out. I've never used such a smooth flowing, comfortable pen. After about another 100 pages, the ink has run out and now I'm going to head to the office store on the way home to buy a box of them. Outstanding. The only "problem" I had was that when it ran out of ink, it just quit writing over about three lines. The ink seems to run out "all at once". I guess I shouldn't complain, it's one of the first times I've ever actually used a pen long enough to run it out of ink....

I love pens, especially gel pens. While not my favorite, Pilot G2 Gel Pens are a good pen at a good price. They are sturdy, long-lasting and quite popular, as well as very easy to find in most office supply stores.

The only reason I don't rate them higher is that I think their ink could be darker and more vivid. I mostly use black ink and find it to be kind of bland once it dries. Because of this I only have a few of these pens in my home. Still, I think most folks would be very happy with this pen.
...

This is the best pen I have ever used. It lasts long time, writes smoothly and is a great price, especially if you stock up during the back to school sales! I can use the black pen to do sketches I would normally do with pen and ink and the results are almost the same. Also the best pen for check writing as it photcopies well....
