I was always stuck in "hyper-vigilance" mode, aka "fight or flight." I felt like I processed everything through very intense emotions, usually with very bad results. Xanax has given me what I think may be what "normal" emotions are like. I can still feel: happy, sad, and everything in between! But now these emotions operate at a manageable, rather than overwhelming level. I really don't care that Xanax is addictive. It's given me a better quality of life than I had before. End of story!...

Xanax - generic name - alprazolam is a tranquilizer used for short term relief of anxiety disorders. It is also used for people who have symptoms of anxiety and depression together. Tolerance and dependence and the two major factors that make xanax a problem for many people. Dependence is common causing many physicians to consider other medications as a first line defense. When used properly xanax has a very calming and relaxing effect however the tendency for abuse is too high for me to approve the medication....

Xanax is REALLY good for just about anything that bothers you actually. I don't allow myself to take it very often because it's highly addicting, and can cause major problems if you do try to quit taking it after you've gotten your body used to it. Also, people that I know take it, say they can stop taking it at any time, and then start taking more...it's probably the drug that 90% of the people that I know are addicted to. Regardless if they'll admit it or not....

YOUR drug-Xanax has helped me tremendously. My Dr. tried to put me on a different drug, it did not help at all. Generic types tend to get chalky (like they've gotten wet). But, Pfisers keep that smooth surface. I also feel that the other brand, does not keep up to the right standards. They are less effective!. So, I seek out yours! It has helped me get through the death of my husband, plus anxiety and panic attack's. I take the 2mg x 3 per day-really-less. This is what my Dr. prescribes. I can get by with taking 2-1.0mg a day. They also help me sleep. I do not get a euphoric feeling, or like a hang-over, such as with valuim.

It seems that the government has been getting stricter with this drug.It is the people who do not know that you cannot drink alcohol or take other drugs with it. Or, over exceed the dosage amount.. a bigger problem: I KNOW is the people who take methedone with Xanax. That is really a BIG problem! There have been TV shows about it. I guess it spread...
...

ALSKULL says "Huge Relief for Anxiety Sufferers" about Pfizer Xanax

Xanax is one drug in the class of benzodiazapans which act on the nervous system to calm and relax. I have been taking 2mg of xanax daily for panic attacks and generalized anxiety fopr 3 years now. The drug really does work, and very quickly, usually within 5 minutes even being taken orally. It promotes good sleep and a sense of tranquility, when used properly. One downside is that xanax has a noteriety of being habit froming and development of a tolerance. In my case I have not found this to be true as my dosage has not increased nor have I experienced any withdrawal sysmptoms when I have stopped taking the drug for a period of time. It does have a rebound effect on me if I quit taking it in that I have a very hard time getting back to sleep. This drug is very inexpensive, so may be a prime choice for those who have no health insurance, especially vs. the new costly antidepressants....

I have been taking Xanax for about a year. Actually, I take the generic form, alprazolam. I take about 1 or 2 a day (1mg), for anxiety and panic. It really really helps. In the past I have tried many different prescriptions for anxiety, depression and panic. For instance, Buspar, which had absolutely no effect on me at REALLY high dosages. A few people I know disapprove of Xanax. They say some doctors won't prescribe it, and sure enough, I have met a few who won't. But my current doctor said to give it a try and it really does work. If I have to go somewhere and I know that it is a situation where I am prone to panic attacks, I take a xanax first, and it seems to help prevent the attacks somewhat well. If I am already panicking, it helps calm me. It also helps me sleep. I used to have a choking sensation and xanax seems to have cured it. It helps with acid reflux, which i didn't expect! At first I did worry over the fact that everyone says it is addictive. Then i thought...
...

I was given this drug to help me stop smoking. I was not yet diagnosed with bipolar disorder. One night out at a bar drinking I took about 30 tabs which almost killed me. They told my wife that I would be dead by morning or a vegetable. If you have trouble with suicidal thoughts this one drug you should not have control over how many you have. Someone else should be giving them to you at small amounts. This drug can kill you very easily. They diagnosed me with depression right after that and later with bipolar disorder....

I asked my doctor once for Xanax after a friend suggested. I was over worried & nervous so that couldn't concentrate on my exam preparation. I took a pill and feel very sleep & tired. When I tried to drive to mall for shopping I feel like i response slowly to the traffic light. So i am afraid to take it again. I think any drug have some side effects. I try to not take drugs whenever i can manage by other ways....

IMHO says "Xanax saved my life" about Pfizer Xanax

I have been using Xanax for about 10-15 years for agoraphobia, panic disorder and general too-much-to-bear anxiety and all I can say is that it works for me. I hesitate to say any medication is good or bad because everyone reacts differently to drugs. Finding the right medication for you is a hit and miss process and Xanax has done the trick for me. It brings my anxiety level down to something I can deal with or it takes it away completely. Yes, like other medications of this type, Xanax is addictive but when I think of what my life would be like without it I find this a small price to pay. I know that if I ever want to or have to stop taking it I MUST do it the right way and will talk to my doctor about it....
