This is nothing more than a gadget that does not do what it claims. It is hardly a substitute for a grooming, whether you do it yourself or have it done professionally. Perhaps it might work on a short haired small animal but it certainly is not effective. It is nothing more than a petting glove....

This is a good idea, but it doesn't have the same effect as brushing, of course. Worked okay on my golden retriever, but not so much on the shih tzu....

We use the love glove pretty regularly on our dog. It works fine and removes loose hair. The only draw back I would say is that it is only made for the right hand. My daughter is left-handed and can not use it properly. Our dog, Aladdin, loves it. When he sees one of us get it he lays down and wants his belly rubbed first! It is nice when you can groom your pet and he thinks he is being rewarded for something.
...

This glove is great in that it gets you to pet and stroke your pet more than maybe you would otherwise. But when I tried it I found that it didn't remove any fur at all and felt cumbersome and uncomfortable to use. My pets could tell that it didn't feel as good as when I would pet them with my bare hand and they really didn't care for me using it on them. I was really disappointed when it didn't pull out any hair at all. I regretted having bought it....

Very soothing for the animal--holds fur but not a lot. Have to clean it out frequently-especially on a long-haired dog. Short haired pets would be better for this product.Easy to clean though, so I guess it balances itself out!Could probably use a comb for the same affect--except the animals love being petted!...

I used this on my VERY FURRY dog quite a bit, the upside being that he didn't realize hair was being pulled off him and was somewhat indifferent, although he might have even enjoyed the stroking. However with his amount of fur this glove barely made a dent, although the glove is covered in fur pretty quickly. We had to use clippers and scissors when we really wanted to get rid of a good amount of fur. Also, for his matted or thicker areas it didn't do anything. It probably works better for shorter haired dogs and cats....

This is a joke I worked in a groom shop for 7 years and a client brought that in along with her matted Cocker Spaniel and said the clerk at a local pet shop recomended it for professionally grooming her own dog instead of paying a groomer to do it she would save money well not only did it cost her double for the groom that day cause the poor dog was soo matted it could'nt even bend it's legs it took 2 people to shave him down and it was awful cause we knew it was painful and his coat came off in one piece and it took almost 5 hours to get that poor dog done all because an uneducated clerk told her that her dog would only need to be professionally groomed once a year like i said in my pros the only thing this product is good for is wiping the lose/dead hair off a slick coaated dog...Oh and a short haired cat it won't work on medium or long haired cats!! ...

The Love Glove is a product which my dog Bella seems to like ok. She enjoys the feel of being pet with a little extra umph. The glove, though, is not a great product for effeciently removing dog hair. Yes, it does remove the hair, but I seem to spend more time removing hair from the glove then removing hair from my dog. She gets frustrated when i have to stop between each couple of strokes to clean the glove, a task which is not easy in itself.

I would say that my dog really likes the feel of the Love Glove, so when I want to give her some extra special treatment, this is a great way to do it, but as for hair removal...I have found superior products.
...

This is a great product, especially for dogs that don't like to be brushed with a traditional tool.

The glove fits comfortably on the right hand, and to your dog it feel like it is being pet, when actually it is being groomed instead.

I use it on short haired dogs and its ideal, as the static between the dog coat and the plastic bristles causes the hairs to actually stick to the glove.

When you are done, you just peel away the fur layer that you have created and thow it out without any mess.

...

This product works but does not collect enough of my dogs hair. He likes the way it feels so it makes it easy to groom him (likes all the attention) but it does not pick up enough of the loose hairs. It would be great if this product worked more effectively because it is easy to use and not as dramatic as using the handyvac on him!...

My cats and I love this gooming tool. Cats can shed quite a bit and our new furniture show it a lot. I can use the glove to pet my cats and they don't realize you are grooming them. They think it is a wonderful back scratcher and arch up for more. You can also use it directly on the furniture to lift off the unwanted hair.

It does only work for right handed people which could be a problem for the those that are left handed. I didn't think the cost was too bad and considering my cats are not afraid of it is a plus.

This glove probably wouldn't work on a long haired animal very well and it does need frequent cleaning to remove the loosened hair. Overall, I give this love glove a 4 star rating for cats.

...

Our dog is short haired but still sheds quite a bit. He has white fur and we have a chocolate brown couch and love seat which does not make for a great combination. It is necessary for our dog to be groomed regularly as well as our furniture. We needed a tool that was gentle enough for my dog and for my furniture. We found the Pet Select Love Glove Pet Grooming Mitt for $9.99.

The Facts

Conveniently fits any size hand and easily fastens with a Velcro strap.

The Love Glove removes dead, unwanted hair while gently massaging your dog or cat.

Dead hair easily peels off the soft rubber tips.

Also great for removing hair from furniture and carpet.

My Experience

Luckily, my husband and I are both right handed because that is the only hand this glove will fit. It is really easy to put on and doesn't look like some scary contraption that our dog is afraid of. All that we have to do to use this glove is pet our dog. He enjoys it and we are getting rid of all that excess fur. ...
...
