pp2a says "save place to pay" about PayPal

It is really very good for paying online, and I paid a lot of time, very convinent and reliable, I like it.

The lowest-cost, broad-featured system I've found for receiving payments on the Web is PayPal -- and it doesn't require a merchant account or payment gateway. What's more, many international merchants can use it with relative ease to sell products in US dollars. With its integrated shopping cart feature, it is finally mature enough for small online merchants to use to launch low cost e-commerce sites.

PayPal began in 1999 as a tool for transferring money for payment in eBay auctions and is currently the most popular online payment system of its kind. PayPal estimates that it is the payment vehicle for 28% of the auctions that close on eBay, with its closest competitor used for only a small fraction of that. Essentially, the system allows a PayPal member to e-mail money to anyone, though to retrieve the moneyTo date, PayPal boasts more than 8 million members, which account for a considerable...
...

For years I have been shopping on line with confidence using my PayPal buying "shield" Yesterday I filled a dispute with paypal requesting my money back for a dvd I had ordered through ecrater and jfsales51 What I recieved was a bootleg pirated copy. Paypal "investigated and closed" my claim within 90 min of me filling it. When I called Paypal I was informed that of the thousands and thousands of sites that use the PayPal option the only one I am protected one is Ebay. Unless I never recieve the item. So according to Paypal I did recieve it but who cares that it is a homemade illegal dvd... I lose. The more research I did the more I felt like a fool using PayPal. Even if you use your credit card to pay with paypal you waive your rights. So America please use caution when using paypal becuase you are NOT protected at all even for illegal activites and scams. I have closed my account and will now only use my charge charge so that I can have at least some recourse. Check this out paypalsucks.com ...
...

ellentilkins says "Paypal is convenient, but expensive" about PayPal

paypal is convenient, however it is expensive. If you are an ebay seller, you know ebay charges you to sell your item, and paypal charges you to accept payment. The funny thing is ebay owns both companies. Therefore, you are being doublecharged for each item you sell on ebay. Paypal is very convenient. When you are selling on ebay, it is nice to have your money instantly, even if they charge you. This makes it so you get your money faster, and your customers get their products faster. I use paypal for this reason, the convenience outweighs the costs. However if ebay continues to get greedier, someday, this may not remain true.
...

My Paypal accounts have turned out to be quite indispensible for me! If you do not have a Paypal account and are wondering why you need one or why you should be bothered with this then I would highly recommended that you go onto the paypal website and read all of the great benefits that you can derive from this tool. First and foremost, Paypal is easy to set up and it is completely free to setup as well. I know that there are other financial tools which claim to be completely free when in fact there is a small cost associated with using them. I use my Paypal account to receive funds from many different sources, including: survey and research panels rewards and friends & family for repayment of loans; also for receiving payments from business ventures, such as eBay sales. The tool is great because it is very easy to setup an account and it allows you the utility to transfer funds directly to your formal bank accounts for immediately use. You can also use Paypal to get money to...
...

When I first started buying and selling on Ebay, I was thrilled with the protection that PayPal SEEMED to offer. I will admit that when I buy or sell online if PayPal is available, I always choose that as my prefered payment method.

That however, does not excuse their policies, which they follow WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

The point of this blog is to encourage any and all sellers to keep all receipts and make sure that your packages can be tracked.

If a buyer reverses payment for any reason after you have sent the product, Paypal will not cover the lost income, if you can not show the tracking receipt. Even if the buyer has sent emails to you, explaining why the payment was reversed, and that they had received the item in the condition that it was promised, and EVEN left positive feedback, which clearly shows that the product was received.

I also found out the delivery confirmation is not acceptable as proof that the item was shipped and received.

AnimeMovieMan says "Terrible customer protection offset with ease of sending money." about PayPal

Other reviews cover Paypal, so I will describe my experience with it. Paypal is the easiest site for sending and receiving money.

That's great for buyers and sellers actually more great for sellers. The protection policy by Paypal is very inadequate at best. Mediocre.

I've been a seller and buyer on Ebay and a new called Ioffer. Most of my transactions went smooth. However, whenever I ran into an unsavory seller the protection by Paypal has NEVER come through.

One time I ordered a game from myself. The seller never sent my anything. I filed a dispute with Paypal and they told me they were looking into the matter. After a long time they did finally notice the fraud taking place. However, all they did was suspend the seller's account , and I NEVER got a refund. This should not be.

Paypal asks both sellers and buyers for enough personal information that getting a refund should be a piece of cake. They ask everything from their credit card, bank account, to address. No excuses for not...
...

carell98270 says "Paypal isn't fair to sellers" about PayPal

I've been dealing with paypal for a few years now, mostly for buying and selling on ebay. Most of the time its easy to use and there isn't any problem but when it comes to a dispute from a buyer, the seller always loses. I've went through this a couple of times where a buyer doesn't want something I've sold them and even though there is no refund on the item and I prove to paypal that the buyer is lying or wrong, I still lose and the buyer wins.

The first time it happened, I was selling a nintendo ds lite for a family member. After I'd sold the item the price of them went down drastically. The buyer wanted their money back and said the item didn't work. When I received it back and before paypal refunded their money, I sent pictures to paypal showing that the item did work and the buyer was lying. It didn't do any good, they didn't care.

Recently I sold a blackberry phone that I had won. When I won it, it was valued at $600. I sold it for $400. I mistakenly put on the listing that it...
...

I became a PayPal member/user about 5 years ago and have had a wonderful experience with them so far. I started using it in correlation with my Ebay buying and selling. Using PayPal in this way makes Ebay very easy and is the most convenient way to collect and purchase Ebay products. I also have experienced first-hand how security oriented they are. I went on a trip to Hawaii last year and was using my PayPal card more than usual. At one point, when I tried to get money from my card, it wouldn't let me until I called the customer care center and verified all of my information. I truly appreciated the fact that they noted the more frequent use and took action.
...

Paypal has just become very neccessary for anyone paying for items on Ebay. Some survey sites even pay through it exclusively. So really it has become the norm for anyone doing business online weather you are purchasing items from ebay or doing surveys on various sites on the internet. Paypal is a great site and it helps us to manage our funds. If there is any problem on Ebay there is the option of paypal helping you out. And then you have the wonderful option of direct deposit of the survey funds if you so choose or you can always shop if you want! Also a fun option!
...

I sold a laptop as-is on eBay. The buyer emailed me that they got it ok and it worked fine. A couple days later, they decide it wasn't "described well" and got their credit card company to do a chargeback.

PayPal not only refunded them the money out of my account, the buyer has not returned the laptop!

Good luck to those that have been scammed.
AnnaBanana says "A safe little place to leave something valuable!" about PayPal

I don't know how many Louisa May Alcott fans we have here but if you loved "Little Women", you may remember the mail box that Laurie gave the girls. It was part way between his house and theirs and provided a safe place where they could leave letters, notes, and small gifts for each other.

Well, that's what PayPal is like ... a safe place halfway between you and someone else where you can leave money for each other. I opened my PayPal account years ago but used it mostly to pay money to people I bought merchandise from on E-Bay. (PayPal's dispute option offers great protection to E-Bay buyers.) Recently I began receiving payments also and it has worked out just as well. In fact, PayPal offers an ideal venue for receiving small payments (such as rewards for surveys, etc.) and other types of income. You can either leave the money you receive in PayPal or transfer it to your checking account. This is not an immediate transfer -- for some reason, it takes two or three days...
...

I was late in signing up for Paypal. I must confess: I was suspicious of the whole thing. A service I pay nothing for, but am expected to share my credit card and/or banking information with, and which acts as a conduit between me and the online retailers I fequent? What's in it for them? About six months ago, I finally caved and signed up. I was ordering quite often from Overstock, and got sick of typing in my 15 digit credit card number...and even sicker of not being able when I didn't have my card handy. So, yeah, I signed up and have been using it regularly ever since. Really, though, there was no way for me to guage how good a service Paypal was - until now.

About two months ago, I ordered a book directly from the publisher - an independent publisher. This wasn't a book that I would be able to get from Amazon or Borders - it was a highly specialized book that had been printed in small batches. The publisher (who I'd never heard of before) accepted Paypal, so I chose that option. One...
...
