montanasmom says "Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo is really cool-really!" about Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo

My husband went to the local Sport Clips hair salon the other day for a hair cut , and came home completely impressed with Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special Shampoo. He had a small sample packet and urged me to try it. Now, I've always been leery about spending huge sums of money on salon hair care products, but since this was a free sample packet, I figured aw, what the heck, and used it for my next shampoo. Wow! This stuff wakes your scalp right up. It has some kind of mint in it that really tingles and refreshes, and it left my hair really soft and silky, but still with plenty of body. I went and bought a bottle, and (gulp) paid around $18.00 for 33.8 ounces, but is it seems to be really concentrated, and a little bit really does go a long way, so I'll keep using it, especially since my husband likes it so well. And the minty scent is a nice change from the flowery smell left by most shampoos.
...

brenviewer says "The tingle lets you know it's working" about Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo

Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special Shampoo works very well with my hair. The tea tree oil leaves a tingling feeling behind as you apply and rinse it away.

I don't know anything about volume or luster, so I can't speak on that. But my hair feels nice, it's clean, and it's manageable after using the Tea Tree Special. Those are my criteria for using a shampoo. Unfortunately, not all shampoos do that. Some leave my hair feeling dry--while I'm still in the shower. Others mat my hair down actually making it less manageable. I haven't found any shampoos that don't clean, though.

Tea Tree Special is color safe, and while it doesn't apply to me, I can appreciate not rinsing out highlights or coloring for which you just paid good money. I don't use the shampoo often, because I usually keep my hair very short. But I've been growing it out for a play, so it's been nice having the Tea Tree Special Shampoo available. My wife and daughter (17) use it much more frequently and enjoy it, too....
...

Brashley444 says "An awesome and invigorating shampoo experience" about Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo

Tea Tree Special Shampoo by Paul Mitchell is one of the most intereting and invigorating products I have ever tried. For some people, shampoo scent can wear off shortly after showering or even after the hair dries, but not this one. This shampoo can be purchased at any local barber shop or any place you go to get your hair cut. (Most likely you can find them at JC Penney's or Regis), etc. Anyway, the shampoo lathers really well and the scent is incredible. If you suffer from dry scalp or dandruff I would completely recommend it. The best part about the shampoo itself is the clean feeling afterword. There is no other way to describe it but fresh. I mean your scalp literally feels cool and tingly after you get out of the shower. It leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean and not brittle like some other shampoos that leave it feeling the same way. It is a little pricey, for instance the one I bought cost $16.50. But it is completely worth it. If you don't believe me, you just have to try it...
...

moe77 says "I love the way Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo feels." about Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo

Hello again Reviewers,

Moe77 here again with a new review. This time I am reviewing the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo. I have to say this shampoo is sssoooo nice. I love the way it leaves my scalp feeling so fresh, clean and cool. The smell of the pepermint is so refreshing. My sister is the one that bought this product actualy and I am glad she did. If it was not for here I probably would have never used the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special shampoo.

This Shampoo is loaded with great stuff like Tea tree extract, Peppermint extract (for that cool breezy feel on your scalp), Lavender oils (who dosen't like lavender huh), Rosemary (and you thought it was just for cooking), Wheat Germ oil (Wheat very good for the skin and hair), And like ALL shampoos it has Volcanic Ash in it as well. The Volcanic stuff helps lift of the layers of impurities that is why it's good to shampoo Twice (2) ; I got that little bit information from a Pharmacists once years ago....
...

Not only does this smell great, it really wakes you up with the tingling effect of tea tree oil. Terrific for after a sweaty day...my husband loves it. And the tea tree oil is a natural bug repellant...when I use this and go work in the yard, the gnats and mosquitos don't bother me at all.
...

I have been buying this shampoo for years. It was recommended to me by my hair stylist. It does not have a sweet fruity smell but it is strong. This is a great shampoo for stinky kids. They smell clean after washing their hair with this product. I have also been told that it is a great shampoo for avoiding lice. I don't know whether that is true or not but have read that the lice don't like the smell of tea tree oil. It is listed as a natural remedy. This shampoo is also good if you occasionally get an itchy scalp. I do believe that it has antiseptic properties. This shampoo is not for everyone but my entire family uses it. You should definately smell it first to see if you like the fragrance because not everybody does. I think it does a great no nonsense job of cleaning my hair and that of my husband and kids. It also makes your head tingle a bit. One word of advice is not to get this into your eyes!
...

I have had difficulty with dry, itchy scalp for years, even though my hair is oily. I have tried many shampoos formulated for my condition, including shampoos for dandruff, both over the counter as well as salon brands. Nothing has helped to relieve my itchy scalp. One day I mentioned my problem to my hairdresser. She stated firstly, shampoos for dandruff definitely would not help my scalp issue, as I did not suffer from dandruff. Then she suggested I try Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special Shampoo, which was specifically geared toward my problem, and would also not hurt my color treated hair. I purchased the shampoo and conditioner and took them home with me. After the first shampoo, I could already feel a difference; my scalp was not itching nearly as much as usual, and I wasn't feeling the urge to scratch so much. Not to mention, the shampoo had a light, pleasant smell that had no chemical or strong odors at all. BIG RELIEF! Not to mention I discovered on reading the...
...

After years of trying a variety of dandruff shampoos to treat what I thought was dandruff, I finally found a hairdresser while traveling in Texas that explained the difference to me between dandruff and a dry itching scalp that was most likely stress related. All of this time I was trying to treat a condition that I didn't have. She suggested that I start exploring shampoos and conditioners that contained tea tree oil as a primary ingredient to help soothe the scalp irritation (she also suggested a yoga class to help control the stress) and so I began exploring options at the local health food stores but I really wasn't happy with the products and since they weren't available in most stores it required a special trip to the health food store just to pick up shampoo, really not very practical. I finally found the Paul Mitchell Special Tea Tree Shampoo at the local mall when browsing one day and was very pleased with the results. It doesn't smell medicinal like those dandruff shampoos...
...

I tried this shampoo (and conditioner) at a salon several years ago when they used it to wash my hair. I loved the scent of it and immediately asked what it was. They told me it was Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special shampoo and that they sold it at the salon. I bought some before I left. Not only did I love the scent, but my scalp felt stimulated and really clean. My hair was being colored and the salon talked about it being safe for color treated hair--in other words it wouldn't wash the color out prematurely. I used the product(s) up and immediately went to the salon to get more. The salon had to special it so I went on a citywide hunt for it at every salon and store that sold Paul Mitchell. It was fruitless, so I let the salon order it for me and continue to look everywhere I go for it now. My brother also discovered it independently of me and we both keep an eye out for it now. I love the way my hair feels and looks when using this shampoo and conditioner well as how...
...

When I was working in a salon, I was recommending this product to people with scalp problems all the time. I think it really helps to hydrate and control flaking as well as providing a nice clean feeling. I would recommend this shampoo to people with normal hair or scalp issues.

You probably should not use this shampoo if you colour treat or otherwise chemically alter your hair; I have a feeling it would be too harsh for your hair's weakened condition.

It also leaves a nice body and bounce in the hair as it cleans it fairly thoroughly.

One of my favourite things about it, however, is that it's a TeaTree shampoo with a nice smell. Sometimes Tea Tree can smell very medicinal.

Highly recommended by this hairstylist!
...

I am very picky about my shampoos. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo works great for itchy dry scalp. Leaves your head feeling fresh and itch free. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who has dandruff or dry scalp. This shampoo is also a good tool to use if you have a problem with head-lice. Just a couple drops goes a long way and the lice do not like the strong smell all while leaving your head feeling crisp and clean. Try it today and no more lice problems tomorrow.

...
