When my son, Jeffrey was first born my husband and I had him on the basic Similac Advance formula. He experienced a lot of problems like gas and fussiness. He also had a lot of problems keeping it down. He would spit-up after almost every feeding. It was also more expensive than other brands, and buying a whole container a week was really adding up. We spoke to his pediatrician and she recommended switching him to a more gentle formula. We went to our local WalMart to go formula shopping. We looked at a lot of different kinds, but then finally settled on WalMart's brand, Parent's Choice. We decided to purchase the Gentle kind. We compaired it to the Similac Sensitive, and they had all of the same vitamins and minerals. There were almost no differences in the composition of the two. The price was also significantly cheaper --- almost 5 dollars cheaper! As soon as we started using it, our son's fussiness and gas went completely away. He was also spitting up a lot less often....
...

momfeb42009 says "Parent's Choice Gentle is a great alternative to Gentleease" about Parent's Choice Gentle Formula

My child was put on Gentleease formula around 2 months of age. t was so pricey. I was on a budget since I took a pay cut for a job that was closer to my son. I ws reluctant to use a generic formula since nutrition is so impotant. I researched the ingredients and the amount of each and they were the same for the Parent's Choice Gentle. I was also scared that my son wouldn't like the taste, but being that he was so young, he didn't really know what taste was yet. I love this formula. I pay just about fifty percent less for it than I was paying for the name brand formula. It has a yellow tint to it, but my son does not seem to recognize a dfferent taste. I just cannot believe how much money you can save on this product. I took a pay cut and the economy was not looking good, this was the perfect solution. My son is now six months old and healthy as can be, I guess this was a good purchase.
...

My granddaughter, Emma, was born in February of this year. She was first started on Similac with Iron at the hospital and did well for a few days. However, it was not long before we realized she had reflux symptoms. We recognized the symptoms right away after the first granddaughter, Claire, was diagnosed after being a few weeks old with reflux. Emma has had her formula changed a couple of times and then was put on Similac Gentlease formula which helped her symptoms. We had to add rice cereal to her formula, however, to keep her from having the reflux symptoms. The Gentlease is fairly expensive. Someone recommended the Parent's Choice Gentle Infant Formula from Wal-Mart, saying it is exactly like the Gentlease she was currently on. In fact, her pediatrician also recommended it, stating it was much cheaper and was essentially the exact same. We went to Wal-Mart and priced it and looked at the ingredients in both and it was the exact same, except for the price! It was much cheaper and we...
...

I have an eleven month old daughter. She has used Parent's Choice Gentle Powder Formula since she was about two months old. At first, she was using Enfamil Lipil. That's because that is what the hospital gave her. She was having a lot of stomach problems with the Enfamil. I was having a hard time affording the Enfamil, also. I then decided to switch her to the Parent's Choice Gentle. She adapted well to it. She was happy and so was I!!! The Parent's Choice Formula was much more cost efficient. A small can of Enfamil runs about $25. I big can of Parent's Choice runs about $15. I was also a little worried that maybe it wasn't as healthy for my child because it was cheaper. However, I asked her doctor and she said it was just as healthy for her. By switching my child's formula to Parent's Choice Gentle, I can't imagine how many tummy aches and how many dollars that I've saved! Thanks Parent's Choice!
...

I have always used Parent's Choice. Parent's Choice Organic is my personal favorite. But this review is on Parent's Choice Gentle, well this paticullar type is very good on upset stomachs and gas. I've had my times with it I have three daughters, one which has six. She breastfed her children but at times when she wasn't there or she just didn't want to do it then Parent's Choice was always the formula we turned to. And when you can't think of anything else to do to stop the crying because they ake, Parent's Choice Gentle always eased their body(and my head, from throbbing HAHA). It works wonderfully. It has the same amount of protein, fat, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, K, B1, B2, B6, B12, Niacin, Folic Acid, VitaminC, Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, Zinc, Potasium, and Chloride as Enfamil Gentlease LIPIL, but costs $ 1 or $2 dollars less. I love that you can purchase it at Wal-Mart, But I don't like that Wal-Mart is the only place I can purchasr it.
...

My son had a lot of stomach issues when he was born.. every formula we tried gave his little tummy even more problems. We came across the Parent's Choice Gentle Ease one day.. and decided to give it a shot. The price was a lot less than the other formulas (I.E. Enfamil, Similac) so we were a bit skeptical. After just a couple days of using this formula, we started to notice a difference. He was less cranky and irritable, the reflux seemed to ease a bit, and he started sleeping for more than an hour at a time. It is nice to know that there is a quality formula for little ones with sensitive tummys, at a fraction of the cost of the name brand formulas. We are on a tight budget, since I am a stay at home Mom, and are always looking for the best price AND best quality. The parent's choice Gentle Ease formula was just that. It was a life saver in our house for a while.. we eventually had to change our sons formula to a hypo allergenic brand which Parent's choice did not offer at that time......
...

simplysplendor says "Parent choice gentle is easy on the pocket but hard in the tummy" about Parent's Choice Gentle Formula

My newborn baby is very very gassy. After seeing him with so much gas. I decided that maybe his formula is causing the problem. After talking to the dr., I began to look for a formula that has reduced whey protein. I choose parent's choice gentle because it states that it is 1/4 whey protein than regular cow milk based powder and it's comparable to Enfamil. Plus, it would save me money if my son does take it.

I started out small by mixing 1/3 of the parents choice with 2/3 of his regular formula. He had no problem with the different smell or taste (parent's choice does have a stronger odor). He dranked it all. I didn't notice any reduction in his gas though. I thought it might just be new formula takes some time for the tummy to adjust.

The next day, I was waiting for dirty diapers. But there were none! He started to get red faced and crying when he can't get any poops out. I immediately stop giving him parents choice gentle and put him back totally on his regular formula. He was constipated...
...

We bought this formula because our physician reccommened that we try it. We were alittle hesitant to buy it because of it being an off brand formula. Being first time parents we thought that we had to go with name brand everything. But, we decided to give it a try. We're really glad we did! Our daughter had terrible gas. She also spit up alot and tended to be fussy. The formula did the trick! Right away we noticed that her gas and spitting up was greatly reduced. She really like the formula! We didn't have a problem switching her from breastfeeding to this formula. She took to it right away. We love this formula! It costs alot less than the name brand formulas. It works just as good. She gained weight like she was supposed to and she is healthy and happy. We tried the enfamil gentle ease formula and we were not impressed at all. The enfamil kind doesn't mix with the water. It just clumps up. The Parent's Choice Gentle Formula doesn't have this problem. It mixes with water wonderfully!...
...

I have a two year old daughter and a 5 week old son. When my daughter was on formula we tried all the samples of all the brands from the hospital and that were mailed to us and she did great with Enfamil Lipil. I never asked my pediatrician what was "best" I just told her that was what she was on and she asked about burping, gas, spitting up, and with my daughter i had no problems with any of the above so she never suggested a different formula. Well with my son I breastfed for the first two weeks but at two weeks I started supplementing with formula for medical reasons and by 4 weeks was completely weaned to formula. At the appointment I mentioned to my pediatrician we were using samples and I reminded her we had used the Enfamil Lipil with my daughter with excellent results and I asked her if any specific brand was better, I told her I am willing to pay the price if it will benefit the baby. She said that all the brands are nutritionally the same and they all meet the nutritional requirements...
...

For some ungodly reason, we used name brand formula with my first child. I still don't remember what I was thinking shelling out twenty seven dollars for a can of powdered formula every week. Between my first child and my second I noticed lots of people I know using Parent's Choice and their babies seemed perfectly fine so I thought to myself if I have to use formula with this next baby I'll use that stuff. And I researched it and it does meet minimum guidelines and has nearly all the same ingredients that brand name formula has. When I had to stop breastfeeding I went right to Walmart and picked up this Gentle formula and my daughter switched from breastmilk to the Paren'ts Choice without any problems at all. In fact, she spits up less than my son who was fed Enfamil his whole first year. And it costs HALF the price. It no longer feels like I'm just kissing my money goodbye when we finish a can of formula! I will say that she really doesn't take her bottle as well if it was made in advance....
...

When my third son was born I was not able to breast feed him. So the hospital gave him Similac baby formula. They informed me it was the closest formula to breast milk on the market. On my first trip to Walmart to get the baby formula I realized their was 5 or 6 different brands of formula. All stated they were the best formula for the baby, they all claim to have all the vitamins a baby needs. So I took a seat on the floor and started to compare the different brands. I came across Parent's Choice. It had all the same ingredients as Similac and was $10.00 cheaper. So I went ahead and brought the Parent Choice baby formula in Gentlease to try on my son. It was great. My child was given all the vitamins and ingrediants that he needed to get him through his first year strong and health. It was also gentle on his stomach so his digestion process was easier on him. My little man is a year old now and has not had any problems with his development. I would recommend Parent's Choice baby formula...
...

Parent's Choice Gentle formula has been great! Our daughter (10 weeks now) has a sensitive little tummy and would always get a lot of gas with the regular milk based formulas. Since we have switched her to the gentle formula she seems happier after feedings and has a lot less gas and spit up! I love that we can purchase this formula at Wal-Mart with our other weekly groceries and for a lot less than the other leading formulas that we had tried with our daughter. It is a great deal - even cost less than others when you use the coupons they send you ( And you don't have to worry about forgetting the coupons at home or in the car like we laways used to do!!) I would highly recommend this formula and think it is a great product for your little ones that have a sensitive tummy! It has made our feeding times a lot less stressful and much more enjoyable! I am sure our Ava would definitely agree! I hope this review will help all the parents of fussy little ones!
...

I am now on my third child and what I find amazing is how a lot of people will try to make you feel over using "generic" formula. This Parents Choice Gentle formula has been the best one we have used for her.... She got taken off the "regular" milk based and put on the gentle stuff almost immediately. But I was honestly completely surprised at how much the Enfamil version was. My kids pediatrician gives us the Enfamil ones at her check ups, but it makes her more gassy and burpy. We dont have that problem at all with the Parents Shoice brand. At the Walmart where I shop it is $13.88 for the 25oz container which is great compared to $27.00 for the others. I truly believe that if you can compare a "store/generic" brand side by side with the "national" brand and they have the same ingredients in the same amounts and in the same order, there is no reason to atleast give it a try. I cannot say that it would be perfect for every baby, but it has worked great for mine.
...
