For a small point and shoot camera, the Panasonic Lumix FX01 is a great camera. It has lenses by Leica and enough built in features to make anyone a better photographer. I bought it before our trip to the Carribean last year and it has never let me down. From family pictures to scenery and night timed exposures, it does it all. It has decent resolution, so when it comes time to print pictures, cropping the image does not hurt the image quality. Then there is also enough resolution to work with in Photoshop, so all in all I really love this little camera!...

I bought my Lumix DMC-FX01 over a year ago, and I have not regretted it. The best thing about it is that it has a Leica DC Vario-Element wide angle lens. It's the equivalent of a 28 mm lens for a 35 mm camera. Normal digital cameras have the equivalent of a 38 or 40mm lens. This means that you can get more into the shot if you want. You can always zoom in a bit to get it back to 40mm. I saw that Leica sells the same camera under the Leica name, but that one costs $$$$$.
...

The Panasonic Lumix is a great camera for a teen or for someone not serious about digital photography. The photo quality is poor, but the camera is easy to use and relatively inexpensive. The price has gone down about $50 - $100 in the last year.

The battery life is great. It comes with a rechargable battery & docking station. The battery lasts hours and can be recharged endlessly. I've had this camera for 11 months and I've had great experience with the battery life.

You can't turn off the LCD screen, which is a con in my book. You can only dim it to three different settings.
...

I would recommend this camera to everyone who are looking into buying a digital camera. It is user friendly and a very stylish camera. The battery life last pretty long, but always a good backup to get another battery. Overall, this camera is worth the price I paid for....
