I have a large extended family and a great bunch of friends. We are always hanging out together which means that each year I want to buy them all Christmas presents. Like everyone else, we are on a budget when it comes to holiday shopping so I look for gifts that will mean something and be appreciated while also being easy on my wallet. Overstock.com is a web site that rely heavily on each Christmas season.

You can buy almost anything on Overstock.com: clothing, furniture, jewelry, movies, music, books, electronics, home and garden accessories, etc. Personally, I've gotten books, CDs, and licensed sports items like travel beer coolers, fleece blankets, etc. A popular paperback cost me only $8 while the fleece blankets and beer coolers were only $20. They are the kinds of things I planned to buy anyway, but why pay another $10 or $20 more if you don't have to?

I haven't had any issues with my many Overstock orders. Shipping is cheap (usually only $2.95!!), fast, and orders...

I discovered Overstock a couple of years back when I was doing some comparison shopping on some books. If you want to get a book, more than likely, it is way cheaper there than at Amazon.com, which to me, is the biggie in low prices, but then again, if Amazon is the King, then Overstock has got to be the Queen!! because honey, she undercuts them with a no more than $2 shipping fee which for me is such a blessing. Mind you now, you may not get EVERY book you want, and you can also get electronics, clothes, bedding etc, but nine times out of ten, if it's popular, you can get it there for less. I also do some comparison shopping there and you can join their club for a fee but it runs like a frequent buyers club but don't quote me there. Easy, accessible, convenient and great for those doing their early Christmas shopping, this site is the place for all your needs. Check it out. www.overstock.com

Overstock.com offers a wide range of products and I really like the categories. Also, the search engine is fantastic! You can search by price, category, sizes, etc. I will admit that some of the prices aren't the best BUT where can you get everyday shipping of less than $3.00 on ANY item without a specific purchase total???? Most sites may give you free shipping on certain items or on the purchase but that's the one great thing about Overstock.com - It's always this way. Shipping and handling is a make-it or break-it deal with me. I have bought a few things from this site and I've been pleased. Also, I like reading the feedback from others. I wouldn't buy everything from this site but it's worth looking into if your doing comparison shopping.

I check Overstock.com before I purchase just about anything. I've purchased coats, watches, funtiture, DVDs, books, electronics (some refurbished), jewlery, shoes and many more things from the site. I have not had one bad experience and I'm a pretty tough customer. If you have never shopped there you are truly missing out!

Overstock.com is my favorite place to shop. I have gotten unbelievable bargins there for my family. Recently I bought a $300 quilt for just $30. I figured it would be thin & not very sturdy. Now I wish I would have bought one for each of my children. IT IS BEAUTIFUL and will probably outlive me!!!!! The shipping alone somewhere else would have cost over $20.

I order school shoes there also for my teens. I get Converse (Chucks) shoes there for $25-$40. At the Mall these very same shoes run around $60-$80.

They carry brand names Like Urban Outfitters, True Religion all at clearance prices. My son LOVES having the latest jeans not available to our area. I could never afford this stuff if I went to the actual stores that carry them.

I also LOVE their department that sales from all over the world ( world stock). My most recent purchase was a chest set handmade in India which I bought in a bundle for a fraction of the price. This was hand carved from soap stone, absolutely breathtaking.

I was buying some rugs. One description said the rug was 100% wool and later said it was 100% olefin. Obviously totally different materials. I used live chat to see which was correct and identified the problem in my first sentence. Once the live chat rep came on, I waited 15 minutes for Hector to answer my question. He comes back and just repeats back the problem and says he has no idea what is true but would email an answer in 1-2 days. Since this is a liquidation site, who knows if the product would even be there in 1-2 days. I tell him the site should know the product description before posting it, that whoever wrote the description should have known 100% wool and 100% obviously can not both be true, and that to tell me I will have the answer in 1-2 days is a worthless response. He says "I understand". He does not offer anything to try to make up for this poor experience, so i ask him if he could do anything. He then says my next order would be free shipping (big...

Overstock. com is not worth the effort. I ordered a ring from their clearance section, only five left, then I did some online research and found the same ring at Sears for 25% less, not even on sale.

Trying to get them to match the price was impossible but they offered me a credit to their site. I won't ever be using their site again so that wouldn't do.

I tried to cancel in under 45 minutes but it was too late. They sent the order in SST speed but when I tried to unsubscribe from their site I was told it would take 10 days. I guess it goes by slow boat to China.

I've made several purchases from Overstock, and have joined their Club O.

The shipping seems to be fast, and often has either cheap ($2.95) or free shipping offers, even for non-club O members. Club O is about $20 a year, and give you free standard shipping on everything and 5% discount. The membership paid for itself with My first order.

It's also part of the Mypoints.com vendors so you can get points as well when you make purchases. (You do need to make sure you click through your Mypoints to Overstock before making the purchase every time though.)

So far I have had no problems with anything I recevied from them, and they have shipped quickly, and the prices, even without the discount, have been great.

Quite a few items are refurbished, and some have pictures that are not the best,so make sure you read the fine print and know what you are buying.

On each item they state that they will "meet the price" if found cheaper on another web site. I found a camera that was cheaper with another retailer and gave Overstock the info. They state they will contact you within 48 hours after you file a claim. They have not contacted me yet and interestingly when I log into their website the item I am interested in is now out of stock. I had a friend look at the same item today on her computer and it shows the item is in stock and ready to ship. I suppose if you want to pay their price, they are just like all of the other retailers. I am very dissapoointed if their practice and doubt I will be able to purchase anything from them in good faith

This is an overall review of Overstock.com. I am a frequent and long time user of Overstock.com. I have purchased items from them on and off for the past three years. I have purchased items as small as a pendant to as large as a 37" HDTV. I have been very satisfied with the overall quality of the items I have purchased. I do warn customers to watch out for some of the refurbished electronic items. I have have received some refurbished electronic items that were not in good working order or failed shortly after I received them. However, not to worry becuase Overstock.Com's customer Service Department is one of the best I have yet encountered. When ever I have had a problem with an item, I call their Customer Service Department and the matter is handle in one short phone call. If I am required to return the item for refund, I had a return shipping label in my email box within 24 hours with detailed instructions on how to return the item. The good part is I get my refund...

Twice I sent a request for a price match on a Hoover Steam Vac and it took nearly two weeks to receive a response. In that time the Hoover Steam Vac apparently "sold out". Overstock.com does NOT uphold it's online best price match policy nor does Overstock.com respond within 2-4 business days as it's stated. The service I received was horrible and of course they do not uphold their "best price match policy", they can just wait 2 weeks later to respond and wait for the item to "sell out". I would rather make my online purchase at a place with a better price and great customer service. NOT overstock.com....

After finishing my review for Contempo Kitchen Towels, I realized that I had never reviewed Overstock.com which is where I bought the towels. How could I have slipped up like that?!!!

Of course, everyone has their own frame of reference and experience to draw on and it may be that some people have been disappointed by the "O" but I have enjoyed shopping there and have found some great deals ... and even some luxuries. If it weren't for Overstock, I probably would have never been able to buy sets of genuine black pearls for myself and a friend's daughter. I've bought sheets, pillowcases and pillows there, a beautiful set of kitchen knives, even new living room floor lamps a year ago.

Standard shipping seems to be $2.95 whatever or how much you order, the website is usually easy to use, and a shopper can get either ten MyPoints or 4% (sometimes more) Ebates cash back on each dollar spent. I must say that I would hesitate to buy a major appliance or really big piece of furniture from...
