kriemermann says "Of all the slings on the market, this isn't the one I'd choose." about Over the Shoulder Baby Holder Baby Sling/Wrap

The Over-the-Shoulder Baby Holder is one of many slings on the market with a similar fundamental design. Made of a long strip of fabric with two rings attached to one end, the fabric slips through the rings and holds securely in a sling shape. But of the several similar options available, the thing that distinguishes this sling in particular is that the "tail" end of the fabric is sewn together into a strap, rather than hanging free as a bunch of fabric; and one side of the sling is padded, to make the wearing more comfortable. However, both these "improvements" ended up being drawbacks.

The strap ensures that the sling can only be tightened to a certain point; after that, the strap won't fit through the rings anymore. This was especially frustrating to me, since I liked to wear the sling particularly tight, holding baby close and making sure it felt very secure. I was often frustrated that I couldn't tighten the sling any more because of the strap. And rather than making the wearing more...
...

mum22girls says "Bulky and Ugly! Why would anyone wear a padded sling?" about Over the Shoulder Baby Holder Baby Sling/Wrap

When I had my first baby, the "it" store for breastfeeding clothing recommended Over the Shoulder Baby Holder. I naively bought one, not knowing much about baby wearing. After she was born, I tried wearing her/it and it was SO HOT (texas) and felt really awkward having the big padded rails rubbing my neck. Somehow I heard about Maya Wraps and ordered one--what a difference! They were so beautiful and comfortable, and so easy to use. Getting baby in and out was a breeze, and she also found it comfortable: she was closer to my body and it allowed her to easily "mold" to me. I bought another Maya Wrap, then started experimenting with other unpadded ring slings. I found http://www.sleepingbaby.net, a mom who makes CUSTOM ring slings with a unique fold that really helps the sling spread out over your back, thus making it even easier to carry heavier weights. By the time my 2nd daughter was 2, I had 12 slings. I had looong given away the first, neck-rubbing, bulky, uncomfortable......

sincerelypariah says "Great product! So happy we have this sling..." about Over the Shoulder Baby Holder Baby Sling/Wrap
We bought an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder sling when our son was three months old. We purchased this because it is adjustable enough so that my husband and I can both use it to carry our son around. I needed a little practice with it before being 100% comfortable, but it didn't take long to get used to it. It was great to help our son get to sleep or just soothe him and it is very easy to breastfeed in. The fabric is sturdy, soft, and lightweight enough to wear comfortably in the summer. We ended up purchasing a second sling to keep in the car, so we have one around at all times. Our son is two and a half now, and we still use the sling frequently. I love that I can carry our son as much as he likes without back pain!...

I have 3 children and this allowed me to hold my baby and still care for my other children. My baby wanted to be held all the time and with this it wasn't a problem. It did take some getting used to, but once you did, it was worth it. Now that he is getting older I can still use my sling and it is so durable that I know I can pass it on or use it for more babies. I love the padded shoulder as it doesn't dig it. Wonderful investment....

slenee1 says "Great size for tall mommies!" about Over the Shoulder Baby Holder Baby Sling/Wrap

I love my Over the Shoulder Baby Holder because my baby loves it and it keeps us close. Since he has 'chunky' thighs, it is mush easier to use with him then conventional baby holders that you have to put their legs through. This is a very durable item and can be used with toddlers as well as newborns so it is a good investment. It also comes in sizes so being tall, it was nice to find something that actually fit for me!...

Great baby carrying tool! More versatile than a Bjorn since it allows newborns to lay down or be upright; they can even be on your back (as toddlers)! It takes a bit of practice to get the positioning right, but the dvd makes it easy to figure out--visual cues are great. Since the loops and fabric are designed for durability and heavy loads, older special needs kids can also be carried in this sling. When babysitting, I've even worn 2 babies at once (in separate slings); the padded shoulder strap makes carrying it a breeze....

This is a very unique product that is great for multiple chilrdren, or moms on the go. You can hold the baby in several positions and have your hands free. I was even able to breastfeed hands free! It can be difficult to position at first and get the hang of how to adjust. Depending on the position holding, it may be a little uncomfortable, but overall worth it!...

This is a great product espically if you have more than one child. Carrying your child in this sling leaves your hands free to do other things. It is easy to put your child in and take them out- there are no buckles to undo. This helped me have less back pain. Great for carry a toddler on your hip or nursing your baby....
