The Oyster Rice Cooker is an awesome steamer!!!!!!!!! We mainly cook crab legs and lobster in it, but it also makes great hard boiled eggs. It fits about two pounds of crab legs in it, and that is either snow crab or king crab. Its super easy to use. And the cleanup isnt too bad either. ...

The Oster Rice Cooker has been a godsend for me. Bake potatoes, works great. Cook rice and Sausage at the same time without the rice tasting like sausage. Very good steamer. Reasonably priced too. You'll love it.

this is great for no fuss cooking.Doesn't require a lot of one on one cooking and is versatile enough to cook vegetables in as well....

It steams vegetables beautifully but it takes forever to cook rice. Upwards 60 minutes. If you've got time - great. If in a hurry - use the stove....

This is a wonderful product! I have cooked both chicken and fish with it. The meals turned out wonderful! I also love how the veggies turn out. Easy to clean! Very pleased!...

I decided to buy the Oster 5710 rice cooker/food steamer after my doctor told me that my cholesterol and tri levels are bad. Steaming would definately be healthier than deep fat frying. I've got a stove top steamer and a Tupperware steamer, but the Oster two tier steamer sounded more convenient and also had the option of cooking two items at one time.

The Oster steamer includes a base that creates the steam and in seconds, a drip pan to catch water and food particles, two steam baskets, a rice dish and a lid for the top. This is not a basic rice steamer, and it's definately not a 10 cup rice steamer. Oster makes those, but this is a cooker steamer with a rice dish that might hold 6 cups of rice.

If you just want to steam rice or one vegetable, you can do that. Just use either the small or large steamer basket and lid. With rice, you need the rice tray, so the grains do not fall through the steam holes.

If you want to cook two items at one time, then you need to check the times in the booklet....

This Oster food steamer is so much more than a rice cooker because you can cook just about everything in it .The rice bowl doubles as a cooking bowl for steaming fish with sauces or marinade. all you do is put the fish in the rice bowl add your favorite sauce or marinade cover and cook ,

What is really nice is you can set all this up and set the cooking timer to start cooking the fish automatically . so if you want your fish or other food to marinate for 3 hours you put it all together and set the timer to start cooking after 3 hours .

Also this come with a keep warm feature so your food is kept warm for up to 1 hour after cook time is finished .

I also like the left over feature for bread or roles or any kind of leftover food that needs refreshing or warmed up. I know its not as fast as just popping it in the microwave but bread is really hard to get right in the microwave , in this steamer is done right every time.bread comes out like it was just baked .you just put the role in the...

This has to be the absolute best kitchen itme we have ever bought. It is used almost every night. A great healthy alternative for cooking meats, and it could not be simpler to cook veggies. It is easy to use, without having to keep looking into the manual for instructions. AWESOME!!!! That is all I can say. And get the biggets one you can. You'll be happy you did....
