I bought this about a year ago, and have not been satisfied. I really trusted the Oster name, as I have bought other Oster products and not had a problem until the blender. I didn't feel like the blades were very sharp. There have been several time that I put something in it, and it takes forever to do anything. I wanted to puree some spinach with vinegar, and we ended up having to stop it every few seconds and push the spinach further down and mix it up. There have also been times that while it was blending I had to put a spoon in, which is dangerous and can be messy (have ended up with food on my ceiling). It's just been very frustrating, so I only use it when I really need to. It has all the speeds on it that you could need, but it just doesn't seem to go at all the speeds. It is pretty easy to clean, haven't had any problems with that. I cook a lot, and I have to pick my battles when choosing to use this appliance. I would still recommend the Oster brand, just not...

We bought this as a temporary replacement until my wife could decide on whether she would like a food processor, juicer..etc.

I should have known that might take a while and spent a little more money on our temp blender. This blender does not blend uniformly, refuses to start up at times and is downright scary. Even when you hold it down it moves sideways...all over the place!!!

On a positive note, it comes apart rather easily for cleaning and is plastic instead of glass so it doesn't weigh as much as our old one. I've dropped it, personally, several times and gave thanks that it wasn't made of glass.

As a whole, I wish we would have opted for something a little more substantial. If you only use it occasionally, I'm sure this will work just fine but we have our granddaughter here for the summer and she loves smoothies. It just can't hold up to that kind of use ( or, rather, abuse).

The Oster 12 speed blender #6802 is in my opinion the best blender ever. It can handle a myriad of different foods. It works fast when using ice to make slushies and thick shakes. It is a great value for the money. I give this a green thumbs up!...

It worked great for smoothies, but when we tried to make hummus the motor burned out. It was only about 2 months old....

So far I haven't had any problems with this blender. It seems to stir and chop up things pretty well.

I bought this item for the purpose of making fruit smoothies. It does a great job, but attaching the base to the jar is very painful to your fingers. I had it for about a month, enduring the pain because it worked very well. One day the blade was not secure, because it was so hard to attach. I turned it own and the blade started to chop off the bottom of the plastic jar. So I took it back to the store in search for a better quality blender and checking every blender in the store to see what other blenders were easier to attach together.

A couple of years ago, I wanted to make some frozen margaritas and I started searching for my blender. I finally found it way back in one of my cupboards. It was about 15 years old and used to belong to my mother. The top was stained and dingy, the buttons were about ready to fall off and at that point I knew it was time for a new one. I went to Target and purchased the Oster 12-Speed Blender - 6802 for $34.99 and I am so glad that I did!

My Experience

This blender works great and with so much power. I am particularly impressed with the speed that it crushes ice. According to the manufacturer, it's the exclusive all-metal drive that allows this machine to perform so well.
