I've had my new receiver for a week now. My last one died the week before. After doing several review researches for what has the best bang for the buck, I chose this receiver and so far am very happy.

The remote is a little finicky... While I have been able to get it to do the basics for my other components, I can't put them away.

The auto EQ worked very well for me. I feel that the sounds are very crisp and the dialogs are easier to understand/hear. My speakers are old and very in age with the oldest being 24 years old... Sony APMs; my front channel, Center is a Bose center... Sub-Woofer is from Yamaha and my surround are Bose 301s. No rear surrounds (yet).

I felt for the money, this is a very nice receiver. I spent more on my old one about 9 - 10 years ago. So, for less than I spent then, I have a receiver that should keep me happy for a long time to come.

I took my time setting it up... Wasn't hard, but wanted to be sure since it was a new one. I was able to use fewer cables since it...

Wow, after 6 good years with my last Onkyo 5.1 DTS Receiver which decided to pass away while the maid was cleaning behind the stereo..(odd coincidence)... I had / hmm / choose to replace the unit. Since I did get good 6 years service out of this Onkyo product I decided to stick with the brand. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I've let enough time go by that it would be inappropriate to return the item.

Issues... Upon unpacking the receiver and setting it up, (good instructions if your not familar with how difficult a multi input HDTV system can be) I tried to run the 'autolevel' feature of the system. I tried again, and again,and again. I could hear the slightest noise coming from a speaker, but the microphone that came with the unit didn't work. In talking to customer support at Onkyo (which is readily available and eager to help) I was told it was most likely the microphone (little cheap thing) and to return the unit to the place I bought it.

Well, i'm not about to UNCABLE...
