WillCostner says "Good price, but not for all dogs." about Ol' Roy (Walmart) Regular Dog Food

Ol' Roy dog food is the Wal-mart brand made for larger dogs. We were trying out new brands of dog food to see what our two dogs liked the best when we ran across it. We bought it without researching it because it was the cheapest and looked on the bag like any other food, but when we got it home and fed it to our dogs, they both started to have digestion issues (vomiting and diarrhea) withing a few hours. They were both miserable and in a lot of pain, so we decided to read up on the food to see what others had to say. We found out that the fat content is quite a bit higher in Ol' Roy than in most others, and it was known to cause the issues we were experiencing as well as sluggishness and obesity. We decided that rather than throw it away we would mix it with another food with less fat and they both did better after that, but the Ol' Roy brand alone for our dogs was very hostile and I wouldn't recommend that you change to any food without reading up on it first.
...

I really like Ol' Roy regular dog food.It satisfies my dogs and keeps them energetic.

I have 3 dogs, all Dachshunds, and they have become quite the picky eaters.Mostly because my kids love to throw them leftovers or ham & cheese,etc...!! So its been quite difficult to keep them on a steady "dog Food" diet.Yet when I feed them the Ol' Roy they dont seem to sniff & walk away.I havent really tried other brands other than a few store brands and Purina,Purina is great but a bit pricey,so Ol' Roy always does the trick.I guess my dogs know what they like even if its regular dog food, they seem to love Ol' Roy and thats great for us.I have a big family and I'm glad I dont have to search for a particular brand or a specialty brand just to get them to eat right,I have enough of that battle with my kids! Its good to know that I cant count on Ol' Roy regular dog food to satisfy my dogs without ripping a gapping hole into our wallet.
...

My two poodles, Fi Fi and Chloe would not eat Ol' Roy Regular Dog Food. They are used to Kibble & Bits and I was planning to switch them to Ol' Roy Bits and Kibbles but I inadvertently bought the regular Ol' Roy. So I tried to feed them the regular but they walked away from it and would eat it. I think this brand would do better for large outside dogs, but I couldn't say for sure.
...

I have been buying this dogfood for about 8-9 years. This is one of the only brands I will feed my dogs. The price is great compared to the name brand dogfoods. Ol Roy dogfood has kept my dogs healthy and energetic. My oldest dog is 8 years old and still going strong. This dogfood has given my dogs a very shiny coat. The price of Ol Ray has recently gone up but it is around $10.00 for a 20 pound bag compared to about $15-20 for the name brand dogfood at the same size. Give it a try and see if your dogs don't love it!
...

Ole Roy is a good dog food. The price has bee going up, but everything connected with corn has. The food keeps a dogs weight at good, not great levels when the dog is not working. the stool produtc is fairly hard and the digestion rate is fairly good. A good, not great, buy for the money....
