I checked out this dating website and found it to be like the rest of the free sites. You must understand that there are a lot of charlatans out there and what they claim and what actually is are two different things. I checked out some profiles and found the same listings on other sites, which is not bad but the guys for full of it and just a bunch of players, Better off getting out in public and meeting people face to face than taking a chance or should I say risk on a website....

I met my fiance on this site and I could not be happier! Real e-soulmates aren't just found on eHarmony! I love the matching algorithm that can tell you whether or not you would be a good fit with someone (like on Match.com or eHarmony) but completely free! The quizzes you can take are super fun and it's overall a pleasant experience (except when creepy people hit on you).

The site has so many great features such as instant messaging, email messaging, blogging, quickmatches, etc. Try it but be selective and don't settle for less than you deserve!

I believe in honesty with a man and also openess I believe in keeping everythng open and honest in a relationdhip. I'm not rich but I manage to handle bills the best way I can sometimes its hard but I do manage. I enjoy dating at times but then I do enjoy my time alone also. But if I fall in love than I would like my man to be there most of the time, I do have a dog 2cats and a horse which I adore all. I feel like OKCupid's setup and style really attracts a lot of quirkier 20-somethings. It's a great way of meeting new people and it allows you to only be as involved as you choose (you can block users individually and based on particular criteria). If you want to make new friends in an area you just moved to, find people interested in the same things you are, or just meet someone new for coupling purposes it's a well set up website with a lot of possibilities. You find common ground with people through quizzes and by answering questions about yourself that are far from your standard fare. Profile set-up and searching are very intuitive and they have this really cool instant matchup which I hear is great for filling in an empty evening. Personally, I haven’t tried it, but I will say that OKCupid really does know how to match people. I met my boyfriend of over a year on this site and we click in a way that I never experienced before....

OKCupid is a much different dating environment than other sites. The quizzes and tests make everything more interesting as well as the process of how you can match with other users. There is no limiting like many dating sites and I have met not only great people to date there, but also cool new friends to hang out with....

I've been a member of okcupid.com for several years and I have to say this is probably the only 'no pressure' dating website in existance. It's built more like a social community (myspace, facebook) and it allows you to make friends, take quizzes and other fun activities without even having dating as a priority.

I've met several friends on the site (including my best friend of 5 years) as well as found people for fun dates and an ex (things didn't work out but we're still friends!). About a year and a half ago when I moved to a new state, I also used it to make new friends in the area.

If you're afraid o dating sites, this is the one to try without fear of commitment or tons of spam. You can choose which e-mails you'd like to receive in your account preferences.

I have and will continue to recommend this site to friends, family and anyone who will listen. Sure you'll get the occaisional perv here and there, but probably a lot less than you will encounter in stinky bars ;-) Save your lungs......

I had to use this site and write a midterm on it with my partner. I created a profile for myself saw a big diverse group of men to choose from to talk to. I browsed some of other peoples profiles and they were not afraid to tell it like it is (mostly what they like to do in bed). But other than that the quizzes are fun though...

This review entry is merely to serve as a warning for all those single people out there.

As with similar sites, many women members of OKCupid are not what they appear to be, some are prostitutes that are looking to extort money from unsuspecting wealthy men.

I am very disappointed with the lack of response from their otherwise good concept of flagging individuals that are not what they claim to be. Similar, when senior directors were contacted directly by email on a number of occasions about one female member that I know to be a high-class prostitute and extortionist, I received no response and she remains an active member today.

I would steer clear of this particular dating site at all cost if you want to avoid losing a fortune.

Okcupid is a lot of fun.
It is a site centered around dating and/ or friendships.
I have met wonderful people on it.
It has more heart than booty sites, so it is more for 'real people' and not so much for hook ups.

I like how people can comment on each other's journals and make friends in various ways.
It is also nice how the staff has a sense of humor.

I love OkCupid. It's incredibly interactive and conducive to not only meeting potential partners, but connecting to new friends. I have developed some really close relationships with people, some who I've never met in person but keep in contact with the journaling feature, and some who have developed into almost-weekly hangouts. I met my new roommate on there. Its name indicates that it's for dating, but I've found that the people and the site's founders are very flexible and very fun. There are many activities and ways to interact with people. They have user-organized meetups.

Honestly, I can't imagine spending money on some formalized "scientific" internet dating site. Develop connections on your own terms and let them happen naturally. OkCupid is perfect for that (however, not without some flaws, but hey, it's free... and the staff is incredibly accessible for when you want to address these issues). I actually found okcupid the day after eharmony tried to get me to pay to contact my matches. The things I like the most about okcupid are the questions you answer to get a match are completely optional and completely user-created.
It has a cool 'quiver' feature, which shows you three matches every day that the site recommends. you can eigther accept or decline to contact them from the quiver page, and then get new matches the next day.
the 'stalker' feature shows you the people that have visited your profile.
overall, I recommend okcupid to anyone looking for a relationship online. It's not against homo/bisexuality or any religions. It allows you to look for long-term relationships, short-term, just friends, pen pals, sex partners, or activity partners.
compared to other dating sites, the members on okcupid.com are very nice....
