The Nuby sippy is a very good product in theory. We were looking for a transitional sippy cup to help our daughter with being weaned from her bottle. I did a lot of research trying to find the best methods that most parents used and came up with using sippys similar to bottles. I then did research to find a sippy that most closely resembled my DD bottles or a nipple. The Nuby early sippy cup was exactly what I thought I was looking for. It resembled a bottle nipple and was soft, it was also affordable and I could go to walmart and pick it (as apposed to a specialty store). Once we got this home, the problems began. The holes at the top of the spout are so close together that my daughter could not get anything out. We actually had to cut them to make them wider. I understand why they did this, because there is no leak valve in this cup, but it was impossible for me to even get anything out! We were able to work through the closed holes, but we decided to retire the cup the day...
...

I love the Nuby No-Spill Drinking Cup. My daughter has been using this cup for a few months now. It was very easy to get her off bottles by switching her to it. It is great because they hardly ever drip or spill.
...

abreview says "Waste of money" about Nuby No-Spill Drinking Cup

The Nuby Gripper Sippy Cup was perhaps a great idea that came up woefully short. One would expect a cup for such an age group to perform up to specs, but this thing just causes a bigger mess. This is hardly what one needs for a young child since they are quite capable of creating their own messes without the help of such a product. The lid to this cup simply does not stay on like it should. If you do manage to get it to stay on, it appears that you can never get it to stop leaking. If after getting it successfully on and not leaking, forbid it that your child should drop it. If he does then pop goes the lid. Perhaps this sipper cup would be more appropriately named Nuby Pop Top Cup. I have heard some say they like the cup. Perhaps they got a better made one but I have heard others complain a lot about the lid and the leaking. My advice is to avoid this sipper cup and look for one that is better made.
...

mommyof2kiddos says "Really not impressed with this one..." about Nuby No-Spill Drinking Cup

AHHH, the Nuby no spill drinking cup. This was one of the first cups we bought for our daughter. At first it seemed like a great cup, i loved the style and that my daughter could hold it easily. And the label said leak proof so that was major plus. So we bought it and let her use it. The lid would not stay on and she made a big mess. So we thought maybe that one was just messed up so we bought another and the same thing happened. The lid would not stay on the cup and you could just pull it right off- no twisting at all. So naturally the liquids would drain right out of it. Also the nipple was a little hard to clean off because of the way it was made. If you have a nipple cleaner for bottles then it could be easy for you to clean it and since its silicone my daughter chewed holes in it. Overall not happy with this product....

With my first child the Nuby No-Spill Drinking Cup was one of the first cups that I tried. Being a new parent and not having a lot of help or pointers from anybody, I didnt know what to use. I thought that it would be a great cup. Spill Proof, that was a plus! Easy to grip, thats good. Soft top, easier transtition from bottle to cup... Well thats what I thought. Unfortunatly he chewed the top off! Spill Proof... no more! That was the last time I uesd this cup. He had no problem going to a hard top "sippy cup" after that.
...

There's not much I can say that isn't said in the headline. My oldest daughter was almost 3 by the time I got the bottle away from her but thanks to finding these sippys, I had my second daughter broke from the bottle at 9 months. The tops are just like a funny shapped nipple and make trasition a breeze...

These were great for my daughter when came off the bottle. BUT....once she started walking well enough to carry her juice cup we had to say bye bye. She would drop and through her cup everywhere...so juice would go everywhere...so our carpet is spotted all different colors now! lol! ...So to sum it up...they really dont live up to the "spill proff" name. And after a while of using, the nipples start getting mold in the cracks...and its kind of hard to see at first....

I generally like the Nuby no spill sippy because it is afordable.. With three kids sometimes sippy's get misplaced and these sippys are not going to break the bank if you lose one or two..Also it is a good transition from bottle to sippy because of the soft nipple...However, my daughter has teeth and it is easy for her to bite holes into the nipple...Also, sometimes they do leak....

Don't waste your money. Not only does it leak from the nipple opening, but it leaks around the rim. And I bought one that isn't even threaded correctly and I can't get the rim to go on. Total waste. There are many other Spill proof cups out there that are actually spill proof. Buyer Beware....
