We bought this sippy cup thinking they would be perfect fore our daughter to transition from bottles to sippy cups. We bought them for they had tops that were like nipples of bottles. We also got them for we thought that the handles would help our daughter learn to hold it on her own. The opposite turned out to be true. She had a really hard time holding the cup by the handles. It took her months to figure it out and mainly she would use them to carry it around not to assist her in drinking. The largest problem we had thought was that the nipple of the sippy wasn't very strong at all. After just a short time of her using it she ripped the slit in the nipple causing it to leak all the time. She would chew on the nipple since she was teething and ripped it. She still can drink from it but now if she drops it on the floor or puts it down upside down it creates a large puddle on the floor. This cup would work if your child doesn't chew on the end which most do even if they...
...

The Nuby 10 oz no spill cup with silicone spout is great for babies that are just learning how to drink out of a cup. The silicone nipple helps them make that transition because it is soft like their bottle nipple so they relate to it better than one of the hard spouts. The Nuby no spill cup with silicone spout is the best one to start with and then slowly graduate to the hard spouts at a later time. My nephew started drinking out of the Nuby when he was about 5 months old. He just loved it. He chewed on it and drank out of it like a pro. He used the Nuby no spill cup until he was about a year and a half and now he uses the harder spout and a regular cup. They are just so much easier for a baby and the bottle is easy for them to hold onto, because the shape is made for smaller hands and is indented in some to make it easier to grab ahold of for small hands. Parents like them because there is no mess.
...

The NUBY 10 ounce no spill cup has been the one cup that my 7m old son will use. The soft silicone spot is more like his bottle nipples, making the transition from the bottle to the cup easy. The handles are large and make it very easy for the little ones to hold onto. The wide mouth opening makes filling super easy and clean up quick. The only problem I have found is the the handles must be centered perfectly before screwing on, otherwise it can leak. I would highly recommend the NUBY 10 ounce No Spill Sippy Cup to other moms!
...

I absolutely did not like this cup. The Nuby 10 oz No Spill Cup with soft silicone spout just did not hold up to my little man long. With his new teeth in he quickly ended up biting into the spout of the cup and it was no longer used due to leaking everywhere. We just did not like it at all because it only lasted him about a week. It is great for beginner kids with no teeth but I would not recommend this for kids with teeth at ALL.

...

lapblnd says "Great choice for breastfed babies who don't have teeth yet" about Nuby 10 oz No Spill Cup with soft silicone spout

I am trying to wean my 7 month old daughter from breastfeeding. I have tried the platex nursing bottles and she won't take to them. I have been using these Nuby no spill cups with sillicone spouts. They are so soft and easy to clean. They are dishwasher safe. My daughter has been drinking out of them. I have introduced this nuby sippy cup over several weeks. At first she would just play with it and bite it. But eventually she got the hang of it.She would not take to the harder sippy cups. It has the easy hold handles to help teach her how to hold a cup. We love these sippy cups!!! You have to make sure the sillicone tops are lined up correctly in order for thehandles to be placed correctly and not leak. That is the only time I've had a leak is when it's not lined up correctly. They are more expensive than other brands, but they work for us.

Need to point out that if your baby has teeth, they will chew through the silicone spout and it will spill out very fast. I jut noticed this, so she...
...

I purchased this cup when my daugther turned six months old. In the beginning I was wondering if she would ever understand how to use the handles, so we put it away for awhile. Today, though, at seven and a half months, she is a BIG fan!

As I feed her cereal, I give her an occasional sip. She has gotten to the point where she grabs for the cup by herself, holds it by the handle and tips it into her mouth. I love that!

I do wonder, sometimes, if she gets enough liquid out of the tip, but she doesn't seem to complain. I have also wondered, as she is beginning to develop teeth, if her new pearly whites will begin to tear at the silicone.

For now, though, this cup works great. It is meant to be a transition from bottle to cup and I think it's serving that purpose quite nicely. It may be true that as she gets the hang of the cup concept I will move up to a cup without such a soft top - but I appreciate it at the moment.

...

The Nuby 10 oz. No Spill Cup with silicone spout may be okay for babies with no teeth, but if your baby has teeth don't buy this cup. My daughter bites through the spout and then when it falls on the floor because she happens to throw it down, it leaks a lot all over the place! It was easy for her to hold, but another major concern of ours is that it did not fit into any of the cup holders that we have in the stroller, carseat, highchair, etc. I was a breastfeeding mother and thought that this would be an easy transition to a sippy cup but she did just as well on the ones with a harder spout as she did with this. I also don't know who would waste their time with a cover for this. She has played with it much more than we have actually used it. Another main gripe about this is that after you wash it, you have to be careful about putting the silicone part back on because if you don't get it lined up exactly it leaks. I would NOT recommend this to a friend.
...

The Nuby Soft cup is fantastic. Yes, it requires about 25 extra seconds to make sure that the lid is centered, and yes, the shape of the cup sometimes gets in the way of the handles, but overall totally worth it. My little one does not like any other cup, and we have tried them all. She immediately took this cup and has not had any leaking problems at all. Just take an extra second to secure the lid and center before screwing it on, turn it upside down a few times and then hand it over. Totally worth it. :)...

When we were trying to get our son off the bottle and onto a sippy cup this was the ONLY cup he would use. I went out and bought 6 different sippy cups and this was the cheapest. These have been a lifesaver for us. I've never had any of these leak even when our son throws it across the room. The top is kinda hard to get on sometimes b/c the handle gets in the way of turning but I can deal with that. Yes, the cover for the top is hard to get on and off so usually I don't even mess with it. These are easy for our son to hold and drink out of. He likes the silicone instead of the hard plastic right now. I plan on getting a few more of these since they don't cost much....
