Novitech 5 Sheet Shredder was the worst shredder ever. My daughter and son like to help me shred papers and they know to keep there fingers away. I had a few papers to shred and my daughter wanted to help. I was watching her and in a split second her finger got pulled in and I had to unplug the machine and pull her finger out. What a nightmare. She now has six stiches in her liitle finger and had to have x-rays. Thank god it was still attached.

Buying this shredder was the worst thing I could have done. It's not a safe shredder, because it has an auto on/off switch. While it wasn't in use my 8-month old puppy knocked it over with her paw. She then tried to pick it up with her mouth, and her tounge got stuck. It shredded half her tounge into little strips. We had to rush her to the vet where she underwent 3 and a half hours of very expensive surgery. Because of this shredder, my puppy has a damaged tongue. If anyone has puppies, cats, even young children DO NOT BUY THIS SHREDDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Novitech 6 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder

I picked this unit up used for under $10. Honestly, it does better than expected. I shred standard bank documents and the occasional credit card. It has a 6 sheet limit, that means 6 layers of paper not 4 sheets of paper folded in an envelope. It also has a duty cycle of 2 min. on and 4 min. off. Don't expect miracles, but it will get the job done if used as intended....

I realize the NoviTech paper shredded is is a cheap shredder, but does cheap have to mean completely useless? This thing jams shredding credit card receipts and single sheets of paper. It takes ten minutes to clean out the clogs from trying to shred just one or two pieces of paper.

I'm back to ripping up by hand. Possibly burning receipts in the sink with a book of matches. Anything but using this shredder.

It's truly impressive just how bad this product is. It's as though someone discoverd an old Soviet-era warehouse filled with paper shredders and decided to sell them in the US. Remarkably bad. Worse than New Coke, the Edsel, and pets.com put together....

The NoviTech shredder is one of those devices I take time out to write a review for. I save this for the top of the line stuff (iPhone 3G freaking RULES!). I also reserve it for the bottom feeders, such as this horrible waste of 50 bucks known as the NoviTech shredder. I finally pulled the mechanism apart to try to get the activator working, but to no avail. Save you money and get something that works, because this shredder doesnt. I don't even want to give this ONE star. They shoudl give ME five stars for sitting to write this....

I am writing this as my friend is trying to fix the shredder. I have had it for about maybe one day and while I was using it today it has gotten jammed three times and all three times there were only two to three pieces of paper!!!! So I am writing you to let you know that I am now going to be telling all of my friends and family to not buy this shredder because it jams way to easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So thank you for reading this as i am getting my belongings together to go return this machine you call so good to get one from a different company

When my ex-girlfriend and I split up in February, a lot of things needed to happen. Once everything got sorted out, I realized that I still had a bunch of old paperwork in her name, stuff like bank statements, credit card statements, tax returns etc. Just stuff I had filed away not expecting us to break up.

So I went to Target in search of a cheap shredder (don't worry, I sent her the most important stuff. I had been meaning to get one for a while, since I hate throwing anything out that has any sort of personal information on it. I found the Novitech 6 sheet cross cut shredder on sale for $22. It seemed to fit what I would need it for, so I grabbed it.

I had a LOT of stuff to shred. Between my old bank statements and whatnot, and all of her old stuff, this took me quite a while to do. So let me say this: if you're gonna be doing heavy duty shredding at home regularly, this is NOT the machine for you. It's too slow, and jams a bit too easily to do large jobs regularly. ...
