I've had the Nokia 6030 for over 2 years and it's still going strong. I don't use it every day and it tends to stay in the car. It has held up being exposed in the car to hot summers and cold winters. The speakerphone works well and so does the alarm clock. I use it with the Cingular/ATT prepaid plan.
...

aubinfan says "Basic, but built like a tank" about Nokia - 6030 Cell Phone

This phone has served me well for over a year. Good sound quality after multiple drops. No case cracks, no button issues. Fell 12 feet onto concrete and ice this winter; worst thing that happened was that i had to put the battery back in and put the button cover back into place. No camera, no music, basic functionality all the way around. But in the age of cheaply built products, this thing is seemingly indestructible....

This phone is durable. I have dropped it more times than anyone should drop a phone and still have it work. The phone works well and looks good. It does what a phone should do. Only negative is it does not come with a camera. If you want a durable and attractive phone...look no further....

The Nokia 6030 is a nice basic phone. It is not a camera phone, but it does have a built in AM/FM radio that is a nice little extra. It also has a speakerphone option. It is easy to use and is MyFaves compatible if you are a T-Mobile subscriber....

Cingular/Nokia the service in general is great we rarely have dropped calls and find that we get a signal in a lot of places that some people do not! I am not a techno person so what I use must be simple! My husband was able to show most functions one time and I got it! I love that the ones I talk to most I can with minimal cost! Having this service compared to others on the market have really opened up a new freedom! I have a teenage daughter and with the family plan phone service we are able to stay in contact at all times! No more worring about her being stranded on the road without a phone. The family plan made it affordable to ease that worry! Very satisfied and have manged to convert alot of my friends and family from the other guys!...

I bought the Nokia 6030 from T-Mobile to use on their T-Mobile to Go pre-paid service. It's backup phone to my aging but still full-featured primary phone. All I really wanted was something on which I couid make and receive calls occasionally. In that respect, this is an excellent phone for doing just that.

There are actually quite a few features in this phone that I've never really used, but might come in hand sometime: a pinball game, alarm clock, calendar, to-do-list, note pad, calculator, stopwatch, and a timer. It even has an FM radio. To use it, you have to plug in the included wired earphone. Then you can listen through the earphone or turn on the phone's speaker.

Despite the fact that this is not a flip-phone, or clamshell, design, it's still very small and doesn't take up much room in my pocket. However, the size is actually a bit of a drawback. In order to keep the phone small and simple, Nokia put only few buttons on the phone. There aren't any volume control......
