Tommy Lee Jones is excellent as always but this movie is lacking in entertainment value. Not one of the better ones.

I bought this movie for my grandparents for Christmas last year and they didn't even make it through the first 20 minutes. It was just too real for them. They gave me the movie back and I watched it all the way through and was begging for a sequel!! I am completely de-sensitized and look for movies to scare me in any way possible. This movie shows you that murderers are ruthless and the main character Javier Bordem I think is the actors name is that and some. He portrays this character perfectly! He lets nothing get in his way, he shows no remorse, no feeling, just killing people to get what he wants, and the weapon he uses....freakyyyyy. Tommy Lee Jones is also in this movie and he fits the role great! He is after the killer. Long story short. A bunch of guys doing a drug deal get killed. A guy finds everyone dead along with a ton of money...guy takes money...another bad guy (Javier) wants this money and pursues the guy who found it. Town cop eventually pursues the both of them...shooting...killing....hunting...Trust...

I loved No Country for Old Men. It was suspensful and had me on my toes, while still having deeper meaning. The Coen Brothers have done it again, and brilliantly. I have seen it 3 times and am not one to watch movies more than once. This movie really made me think about it....

Ok this movie was waaay off. The actors were AWESOME!!!! The Guns were badass!!!! Its the story line. I just didnt get it. Nobody that I have talked to that has seen it, got it. My husband didn't get it. I mean this had GREAT potential to be an AWESOME movie. Why screw it up!!!! Dont get me wrong im all for the bad guy winning but this needs some more behind it. -RR-...

I saw this movie a few months ago, and still think about it frequently. It was such a suspenseful movie and at times funny. It was one of those movies that you do not want to end. It is a cat and mouse type chase throughout the movie and never really lets you rest. The acting I thought was awesome.... Josh Brolin did an excellent job. Tommy Lee jones was excellent. The villain was scary and excellent ( i forgot his name). Woody Harelson... not so excellent... I think they could have found a number of others to play his part... Maybe Dennis Leary or Robert Downy Jr instead..... Yes I probably have thought wayyy to much about this movie........ <>

I gave this movie only 4 stars because the ending could have been so much better. This movie had the potential!!!Its kind of like they gave up on it and needed to end it. I have not read the book, but I suspect I may be missing pertinant information, or it was...

There were a few good moments...so few though that none really come to mind! It seemed to be long with out any real suspense, it was so predictable that I didn't enjoy it at all. The only non predictable thing about this movie is how it ended...and aside form me not being able to predict how it was going to end I did however predict that it was going to suck...and it did!

The actors were good, it would have been a lot better if the script and even the story in general was written better than it was.

I love independent movies because their plots don't follow the Hollywood mainstream "cookie-cutter" formulas. The Coen Brothers excel at rebelling against this formula-- thumbing their noses at it, in fact.

This foray into Western movie territory is a slower-moving study, but equally dark and as gruesome as they get, following the path of a trained, brutal killer (whom no live person can identify) in his quest to collect stolen drug money.

"Comedic" portions are but typical Coen flourishes, such as Jones' character's dryly flippant remarks at death scenes, for example. Coen Bros. enthusiasts will find enjoyment in their other trademarks: wide, sweeping camera angles; grainy death scenes; visceral imagery; and the impossible noir drama that only Coen Bros. characters could become entangled within.

Josh Brolin (the thief), Tommy Lee Jones (the sheriff) and Javier Bardem (the hitman) pull off superior performances in this gripping character study that will have one on the edge of one's seat as......

I thought that this was a very interesting movie. It had some dark characters and a very odd, but likable sheriff. I found myself a bit at a loss a few times with the tangents that the writers took us on, but then again, it is the Cohen brothers. All in all it was a very good movie and well done.

This movie was a great movie despite that I never really watch movies. I can't seem to get into them. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole thing, because you never what was going to happen next. I would highly recommend this movie for people who love action or even semi- scary movies. Watch it you will also like it lots....

I was very excited about watching this movie. The movie itself was okay but it just ended abrubtly. It was very disappointing. I normally love anything Tommy Lee Jones is in, but this was an exception....

No Country for Old Men is an excellent, violent genre film that won multiple Oscars this year. As good as the film is, and as much of a fan I am of the Coen brothers-other films needed an Oscar (like Sidney Lumet's brilliant Before the Devil Knows Your Dead) and deserved it more.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very good, very well made film.

The Coen brothers have taken Cormac McCarthy's 2005 novel -which read like something that had to be turned into a film, and partially deconstruct it, stripping it to its essentials and simplifying things.

So that you fully appreciate the film and it's ending that left some people a bit confused-though not unsatisfied-the entire perspective of the film is through Sheriff Ed Tom Bell's perspective. The sheriff is played by Tommy Lee Jones and he introduces us to the story through narration using lots of West Texas old time vernacular to do it. I bring this up because, the Coens adapt the Sheriff's perspective on things, even when he's not part...

This movie is extremely violent and vicious. I rented it because it was voted best picture. I thought it was a western on heroin. Lonesome dove on crack if you will. Pretty good pic if your into the serious action with a twist. I most usual stop watching a movie somewhere in the middle but I stayed for the whole movie oh and by the way my children did not watch this with me too violent.
