I love the look, features, safety, and comfort of my Murano, but I've had a lot of issues and squeaks and rattles. The Nissan service departments were always useless, and I had to go to other mechanics to get real answers and service.
...

I love my 2007 nissan murano. It is so comfortable and it's awesome. I love the camera in the back and the dvd player for the kids. I love how you push a button and the gas petal, chair and steering wheel will move to you. It has seat warmers for the winter and for the summer the passenger and the driver have their own A/C unit. This is the best car I will ever own.
...

luckysocks says "Love the extra gadgets, but they're not worth the mechanic bill!" about Nissan Murano - 2004

I have had my 2004 Nissan Murano SE since March of 2006. I got it used from a dealership with about 15k miles on it. I wanted a crossover because I wanted to benefits of an SUV (for runs to Home Depot) with better fuel economy. While reading my comments below, please keep in mind that I do not go off-roading, I follow the speed limit, have never been in an accident, get my oil changed every 3k miles, keep my tires' air pressure checked, etc. I am a careful, defensive driver, and I take care of my vehicle. Keeping that in mind, you can understand why I find the mechanical issues to be so frustrating when I have only owned the car for 3.5 years.

Things I like:

All the bells and whistles

They make for a very comfortable road trip. I have bun warmers that I get to use on occasion when I travel north, and they are great for getting you warmed up in -4 degree weather. I also have a GPS that helps me navigate, and the Bose sound system is adequate for my needs.

Roominess

I've driven this vehicle since it was new off the lot. I've had no major problems at all and love, love, love all the interior room as well as it's stylish-good looks! Fuel consumption is reasonable and the ride is smooth....

shopaholic2005 says "Beautiful, comfortable and reliable!" about Nissan Murano - 2004

We bought our Murano brand new in 2004 when they first came out. We were looking for a smaller SUV. We saw these on the lot when we were taking my Maxima to be serviced. At the time, there were no other vehicles that looked like it. It was very unique. It took me some convincing to get my husband to testdrive it, but once we did, he was hooked. We'd testdriven 5 other SUVs and this one took the cake. Drives much more car-like. Luxurious interior. Safe. In fact we had a completely flat tire once and couldn't even feel it going 70 mph on the interstate. Another driver flagged us down and told us or we wouldnt' have known. That says something for the stability of this vehicle if you ask me.

And as a nice surprise, our insurance has gone down on this in the last couple of years b/c of "vehicle experience" so that means it's shown that it's safe in real world usage, not just crash tests.

Also it's been extremely reliable. Needed nothing other than routine maintenance. ...
...
