Environmental puzzles are generally as good in Corruption as they've ever been, and you'll need to survey your surroundings carefully to find the path to your next goal. Yes, the scanning visor is back, so be prepared to study objects frequently to best know their purpose and potential uses as puzzle solutions. It's easier to switch visors than ever--all you have to do is hold the minus button and flick the remote toward the visor you wish to switch to--so while it makes the scanning mechanic seem less central than before, it also makes it simpler to survey the objects in question and move on. Corruption's finest moments are its boss battles, which may not be quite the challenge they've been in the previous Prime games, but will still manage to impress you by the sheer variety that goes into winning them. A single boss battle may involve using morph ball techniques, the screw attack, entering hypermode, and firing both missiles and beams--often requiring pinpoint precision. Most of these...
...

Metroid Prime: Corruption

The Review

by CG17

So my wife got my kids a Wii for Cristmas last year. All fine and dandy for the wee ones, but the game selection for the adults was rather lackluster. That's when I noticed an old love, Samus staring at me one day when I went to get my son the newest Poke'mon adventure.

I was greeted with awsome right off the bat, amazing graphics, music, a very simple yet extravagent control interface. And thats all the first 2 minutes. within the hour I'm blasting my way through space pirates, saving Galactic forces peons from ending up as goo, and using my brain to move ahead. That's right I said brain. The game has these puzzles that actually require you to put down your gun for a few minutes and think. A real step outside of the FPS norm.

So, in review of my review. Metroid Prime: Corruption earns a 4 out of 5. It's imersive nature and step away from the usual gun and run is refreshing. The story keeps you playing, and new weapons and abilities will keep...
...

This game is absolutely the highlight of the wii's true capabilities! It gives quick, fluid gameplay, very quick response with the wii remote, and shows an enthralling story line, which keeps you coming back for more. Graphics are absolutely amazing, and may possibly be the best yet for the wii system. Giving 3 difficulties allows anyone to pick it up and play, though it does cater more towards longtime fans of the series. Not too difficult, and has interresting enemies and boss fights. Definently recommended for anyone looking for a very good shooter, and just to show how good this is, I do not even like shooters, but this one is an exception....

This game was simply stunning. Atleast to me, it was. When I first heard it was coming out, i flocked to the store to buy it as quickly as possible. In this first review I've ever written, I will hopefully help you in your decision on this game.

GRAPHICS(9-10/10)- the graphic in this game were amazing. You first start out in the ship and you start to think that it doesn't look very good. After you get the ability to visit other places, your thought will change. The different regions had their own special feature that trully made them shine. The only reason I included the 9-10 is the fact that a Wii game will not look as good as a XBOX360 or PS3 game will. its only a fact of life.

SOUNDS(8/10)- The sounds/audio was very good but I was nothing to admire either. It had some of the classic songs and alot of new ones but myself personally wasn't impressed. It guns/weapons did sound very good but not enough to get a perfect score.(personally I don't really care how the game sounds because I'm usually......

Ive been a Metroid Fan since the beginning. This is the best one in the series so far. The grafix are much inproved( Possibily the best looking game on Wii) The Wii controlles really immerse you in the game. The game is a little shorter( Not as much backtracking to do) For new players to the series this is a good change. New charactors and great storyline, replayability is very high....

If you played Metroid Prime and Prime 2: Echoes, this game is a must have. If you haven't played the first two, you don't know what you are missing. This game picks up right where the last two left off. If you are a fan of first person shooters, this is quickly becoming one of the quintessential games of the genre. The controls are perfectly tuned to accurately follow the Wii remote as it is moved around the screen. Some purists of PC first person shooters may prefer a mouse and keyboard, and I used to be one of them, until I played Prime 3. The controls are so tight and accurate, you almost think you are playing with a mouse and keyboard.

The graphics are the best yet for the Wii and everything is highly polished. The individual details of each world are simply stunning. In addition the music fits perfectly with each environment and encounter. Plus, those who have played previous Metroids will catch some of the original Metroid themes throughout.

The length of the game was also a plus. The...
...

dp05 says "Primed Up to Finish the Series" about Nintendo Wii - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Welcome, my friends, to the final piece in the Metriod Prime series, know as Metriod Prime 3: Corruption. Personally, I feel this game finishes the series quite well, but there are some things that were left out from the previous Primes that I would've like to see back in this one. If you happen to complete this game at 100% completion, you get left with a cliffhanger that perhaps suggests the next piece in the story line...

Allow me to give a little background before we begin. Metroid Prime starts the story by having Samus investigate a plant known as Tallon IV, a planet formerly home to the Chozo race. While there, she discovers the substance which becomes known as Phazon, a radioactive substance capable of incredible mutations depending on its use. Eventually, Samus's power suit becomes infected with the Phazon, and upon defeating "Metroid Prime", this Phazon infection is removed. This would end up to not be a good thing, as this leads to the birth of Dark Samus.

At this...
...

Grrlgamer says "Samus arrives to the Wii in style" about Nintendo Wii - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

The last in the trilogy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption arrives to the Wii in style.

The story revolves around a computer virus that is corrupting the Galactic Federation's computers, and Space Pirates are believed to be behind the problem. The Federation entrusts the mission to bounty hunters, Samus among them, but as the briefing happens, they are attacked by pirates and "infected". It turns out it's actually Dark Samus who is behind it all.

The first surprise was actually how the game looked. I mean, we look at Wii games and graphic-wise, nothing ever seems to stand out much. But Metroid Prime 3: Corruption does.

The controls are designed to really immerse the player into the first-person view, so that you're not just playing as Samus, you actually are Samus. You move around using the Nunchuk and you aim your weapon with the Wii-mote. You can switch visors with a flick of the remote, open doors by pushing the remote forward, twisting it and pulling it back out, flick the nunchuk and pull it...
...

StarSoldier1 says "Hey, Samus is finally on my Wii!" about Nintendo Wii - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Oh ya! The StarSoldier has been a fan of these Metroid games ever since the first one came out on the NES in 1987 and now it returns here on the Nintendo Wii in Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. Nintendo was even kind enough to hype the latest installment by releasing special demos and even the original 8-bit and 16-bit editions on the Virtual Control all in the same month. Of course all this hype can come back and bite them in their Wii if it stinks to high heaven but that's not going to happen here thanks to the game's jaw dropping graphics, imagitive controls, and compelling action/adventure based game play here.

The story begins has the hot chick bounty hunter Samus Aran is on a routine mission to earn some cash but then suddenly she gets infected by a unknown virus. Remember guys, always use a condom while doing it. Now Samus and her fellow Hunter friends are searching the hostle galaxy for a cure.

Just like the past Metroid Prime games this is mostly a first person shooter where......
