This makes playing games comfortable...you can sit a decent distance away from the t.v. and in your own couch or chair, rather than a game chair. It doesn't eat through batteries very fast and the button response is excellent....

Broseph77 says "The controller for Gamecube or Wii" about Nintendo WaveBird Wireless Controller for GameCube

This controller is a Nintendo classic. The Wavebird Wirless controller is a revolution in wireless controllers. It has 16 settings (changed by a dial on the bottom) so the user is able customize the wireless setting to avoid interferance from other wireless devices or another Wavebird. The controller is identical to the wired contoller except it does not have the rumble feature. You don't really miss this feature though as you are so excited to have the freedom to play from up to 20 feet away. The controller takes 2 AA batteries and they last for a long time. If you can find this controller pick one up. It will quite the collector's item in a short time from now. I hope Nintendo chooses to make it again but for now you'll have to look for it on ebay, Amazon, or your local game store. I have no problems with my Wavebird and it is quite a work of art as i have the Platinum colored one! thanks for reading my Wavebird review!...

mcmom says "Non-gaming mom thrilled with the durability!" about Nintendo WaveBird Wireless Controller for GameCube

We've had this controller for at least 3 years now. I bought it because my son got close to yanking the whole game system off of his dresser a few times. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would REALLY work. Well, it does, even years later. We've even had a dog chew on the little joystick thing and it still works. Now my son sits on his bed 12 feet away and can play, no longer tethered to the system. We (I) love this controller.

I've used it for racing games like Burnout and Need for Speed, and sports games like Madden football and NBA Street, and others like Mario and Animal Crossing. It seems to work fine for me - but I'm no pro gamer either, so take that for what it's worth. We also now have a Wii and it works just fine with it, as well.

I like the durability, reliability, and ease of this product. It was more than worth the money....
