annajolin says "One of the best games for DS" about Nintendo DS - Mario Kart

This was one of the first games I got years ago when the original fat DS came out. Now the third generation of the system (DSi) is out, and Mario Kart DS continues to entertain people of all ages. This game is one of my favorite DS games, and one of the best Mario Kart games I've ever played. You will find few other multiplayer games available for the DS that are as entertaining as this one.

There are 5 game modes including Grand Prix, Time Trial, Mission, Vs, and Battle. There are also 3 engine classes to choose from, and you can unlock new karts and the Mirror mode, where the tracks are flipped.

It's simple so that anyone can just pick up and start playing even if they've never used a DS before. But there are enough difficulties and settings, so advanced players don't get bored either. You can always get on wi-fi and compete with friends or strangers. It has incredible replay value either way.
...

Tappincatz says "A great game for any car trip or just a cold winter day!" about Nintendo DS - Mario Kart

Mario Kart for nintendo ds is a great game. There are tons of fun mini games and you can even race in balloon battles, star collecting or just normal. There are mant different courses and you can even unlock more! You can also throw turtle shells and stuff at other players, there are also power-ups such as speed. You can play by yourself with only the virtual players or with up to eight of your friends, you can have teams or every man for himself. Even if one track gets boring you can unlock more. There are two different carts for eack player, and you get to see the pros and cons of each cart and choose based on that. You can even choose which player you want to be, there is mario, luigi, bowser, peach, wario and more. The best part is that you can even unlock more characters to play, and they come with their own carts, the more tracks you unlock the more characters and carts you can unlock to play with.

I hadn't touched a Mario Kart title since the disappointment of Double Dash on the Gamecube. I was an avid player of Kart 64, and was a bit off-put by how much was changed in DD, but not for the better. The announcement of Kart DS was met with skepticism on my end, having been burned once already with the next gen adaptations of what I feel is the best Kart racing series out there. The selling point for me was the online wireless multiplayer - I'd long been looking for a non-FPS game to play with my friends who were in college at other campuses, and this seemed to be it.

The game alone is great, even if it didn't make use of the stylus as a major interaction tool like I always complain about. It's Kart, I don't think driving with the stylus would have worked; you don't drive a car with a joystick, you have your hands on either side of a wheel, just like your hands are positioned on the DS unit. Needless to say, the controls are great, and the location of all the buttons gives...
...

This is perhaps the most fun multiplayer game for the DS. It's great to play a game anywhere, even if one person doesn't have the game itself. The tracks are fun, and the retro tracks are a welcome touch. In my opinion, there is no con to this game... Although it does get annoying having to deal with "snaking" in online play.

5/5....

This is probably the 2nd best Mario Kart. There are new characters (Such as Dry Bones and R.O.B) and awesome new karts. Online play is great... except when the people "lose connection" with you. One of the best features is when you beat everything, you can be any character in any Kart. Missions are an awesome new thing, too. Funny thing, a couple years ago I had it then lost it. I moved and one of my new friends had it (It somehow ended up in a store). He made me want it so bad, I ended up buying one (another one). Now I have the joy of charging my DS every few hours....

Since my husband bought everyone in the family a Nintendo DS for Valentine's Day, we have gotten quite a collection of video games to play. I would have to say that Mario Kart DS is one of the better ones, just because it is one of those games that the whole family can play.

The best part about this game is that up to 8 people with Nintendo DS systems nearby can all play at the same time with only having the one game cartridge. This gets our family together more, and it is nice because nobody is going to fight about the wanting to play the same game at the same time, now we can!

The game itself is one of the most expensive games you can now buy for the Nintendo DS. It will run you around $35, but in my opinion it is well worth it. In the game itself, you can choose to play with 8 fun Mario characters and race around several different tracks. There are over 30 different tracks to play on so there is tons of variety.

The controls are very easy to learn,...
...

I got this game as a gift for Basketball season. it's really cute, and will definitely keep you busy through all the time-outs and during half-time. There are plenty of levels to play, and the ability to wirelessly connect with other players is a cool bonus.

This system is definitely a winner, easily portable, slim and light. Not to mention the large variety of games available for purchase.

Be ready for an addiction to gameplay like no other!
...

Mario Kart has so many choices for races you never get tired of playing. And when you earn points for taking out Yoshi makes it even better.
The levels make it very simple to start out easy and then advance to the more challenging courses. It is also great to change your characters. Everytime you race it is different so its never the same race twice. Learning the targets that get you additional points is a bit confusing at first....

Being a clerk at a game store sounds like fun but I always get requests for those Mario Kart games. These fun 3D racers starring several popular Nintendo characters are so easy to get into and so good for multi-player battles that it's hard to keep these in shock. Yeah, it's good for the gamer but annoying for me. There has never been a bad Mario Kart game so maybe this is the chance it's finally going to screw up, eh? Sorry if you were looking for a negative review this time around because I'm afraid this game is freaking sweet too.

Like Mario Kart's of the past there are different drivers here that have different weights and controls so ones like Bowser have slow acceleration but excellent top speed while my sugar muffin Princess Peach has great control but isn't too fast overall. The big difference now is you can unlock newer vehicles to help improve your stats in other areas like items, drift, and much more.

It isn't Mario Kart without the weapons. You can still use special weapons...
...
