When I first saw the Nintendo DS Lite, I thought to myself, I have to get this for my daughter. It was pink and I knew she would love it and boy was I right. They have the cutest little games to play on the Nintendo DS. Some are cute and girly, some are cute and boyish and some are even for adults. What I like best about the Nintendo Ds is that it has a double screen feature so it is like everything is just right there all the time. The nintendo DS comes with 2 touch pens, also pink, that make it very easy to navigate the screen. The games are pretty awesome I have to say because the majority of them have lots of interaction. I do reccomend that you get eduacational toys if you buy this little console for your child because the console itself makes education for children and exciting new adventure. Also this particular console also plays regular gameboy games too (the mini ones of course) so of course it is not just for kids but could be for us adults too.
...

haley123456789011 says "I really like my DS lite, but there are some setbacks." about Nintendo - DS Lite Console

Wondering what you are going to get your child for their birthday or Christmas? Well don't worry anymore. This DS lite is a really good product.

Pros

You can use wireless connecting to connect with other DS's around your area- doesn't connect very far though.

Many games to choose from, ranging from 2 and 3 year old games to 18+ years old.

Your child is sure to find a game that they will love and play often.

Many educational games too!

It has a touch screen and you can draw all over it and play games using that screen.

Plays Gameboy Color games.

Cons

Most of the games are very expensive

After a while you kind of start to get sick of the games

DS's break really easily, whether it be the microphone on thefront, or the wires connecting the screen. (We have already sent in my brothers 2 times because it wouldn't work anymore.)

It's also really expensive just for the DS, then you have to pay for all the games.

I really like my DS lite, but if your not really a video game person then this isn't...
...

My daughter has a nintendo ds lite and ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!! It keeps her entertained for hours when she is bored. She is normally fighting with her sister over everything, and now she just goes and plays her DS. Plus mommy likes to play it every once in a while!!
...

My son had one of the earlier Gameboys when he was only 5 and it was quite rugged so when the DS lite came out I figured why not update the gaming system and give it a try. Nintendo overall makes good gaming systems and I really liked the fact that these new systems would be adaptable to games from previous models. After purchasing the system we immediately put a screen cover on it to help protect it but it didn't do much good. A lot of the games require tapping and making circles on the screen which quickly wore the screen protector down. Another thing I didn't like was the blowing into the game system. I don't know if you have ever watched a small child blow but it seems like quite a bit of spit comes out with the breath. YUCK!! Still one more negative is the constant pressure placed on the screen while playing certain games loosens the hinges and eventually our system broke. We are not very happy with this system and wish we would have waited until our son was a little older before purchasing...
...

I was looking for a game console to buy fo son who is turning 13 this week and I have been looking at all kinds of console to see which one has the best rating and the most games and the longest battery life, So after looking high and low I settled on the Nintendo Ds lite, the price was about 120.00 and that came with a game his favorite Star Wars: The Complete Saga and it came with a Lego Armour case which is going to come in very handy as he drops everything he holds, The Nintendo DS lite is very lightweight and it comes with the a/c house charger, I have been looking for other games and I find they range from 10.00 to 40.00, Which is a very good deal, compared to 50.00 a game for the Playstation 3 games, I also have been seeing lots of accessory for the Nintendo DS lite like ear buds, screen savers and a car charger for about 20.00. I would recommend the Nintendo Ds lite to everyone looking for a nice Christmas gift or Birthday gift for a teen.
...

Nintendo - DS Lite Console Is Great For Educational and fun games!

we recentally bought the spanish game and the whole family is trying to learn spanish! I am also going to buy the teaching games and anything else educational for the kids!Nintendo DS Lite is one of the best portable video game consoles available. We love that the Nintendo DS Lite is compatible with original Nintendo DS and Gameboy Advance games, we can play up to 400 video games on the system! "There are titles for young kids all the way to the hard core gaming adult." The Nintendo DS Lite's vibrant graphics and wireless chatting and gaming capabilities also appeal to us as a family. we keep losing the stylus pen, but I did buy extra ones so we would have them at all times.I buy the games on ebat for a steal! otherwise the games are somewhat expensive. Regardless, the Nintendo DS Lite stacks up as a great video game console for every age.
...

I got a DS for Christmas almost three years ago......................And I have never put it down since, lol! First it was Deal or No Deal, I would sit there screaming NO! No deal, No deal! all day long. :) Then there was Brain age, and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader..... which was so ridiculous it made my head hurt, I had to google my answers!!! It really made me feel a little, uneducated? lol Between Myself, Google and two other people, Apparently I am NOT, smarter than a fifth grader!
Then came THE NEW SUPER MARIO BROTHERS!!! Oh my GOD! If you dont have a DS, this game alone is worth the cost of Everything!!! Its awesome! It was really similar to the Old Super mario brothers.....trust me it was incredible! Then Lego Indiana Jones! Oh my Gosh! I could write a book on how much I love my DS, but I wont, lol. They are coming out with a new model! the DSi. It has a camera and I think internet access? I cant remember. I would rush out to get one, BUT all the information I have from...
...

The Nintendo DS Lite game system rocks! Not only does my son love it during quiet time, but it is also great for long road trips. And now they have come out with lots of adult games as well. There is one teaching different cooking techniques that I'm dying to get! Another great thing is that they offer all kinds of educational games for kids, and these are not just for learning but are a lot of fun so they don't get bored easily with them. There are games for all ages of children, too, from PreSchool all the way up. They are also wireless and wi-fi capable for interactive playing with other gamers. The only thing I found to be really negative is that the stylus does get lost easily, but you can get the cheap kind with the screen protectors for next to nothing. There are all kinds of accessories to go with these---cases, stylus' with characters on them, "skins" to decorate them, and many more! I'd definitely recommend the Nintendo DS lite to anyone!
...

I bought my Nintendo DS Lite a couple of years ago prior to my deployment and now that I am on my second deployment I am very pleased with my purchase. This is a great little machine to carry with you around the world or just across the street. Here in Afghanistan I take my DS with me everywhere I go because I never know when I will have some down time where I need to kill time and the DS is great to kill time.

The one issue that I thought that I was going to run into with the DS was a lack of games geared towards adults. This has actually been less of an issue than I would have thought partly because I am a kid at heart and partly because there are plenty of adult orriented games that have been produced for the NDS.

I have noticed that he stylus is a bit easy to lose but generally you get a stylus or two with just about any accessory that you buy for the DS and so it is easy to have several extras laying around. The NDS is also a little bit difficult hold some times but I found that...
...

I bought 2 of these, a white one and a black one, One was for me, one was for my husband. (not for younger kids) . I got them in december, and by Febuary i was calling nintendo for both of them. When i plugged it in the charging light did not come on. When i called they had me send them back to nintendo, they did send me a new one right away, and never explained what the problem was. About 6 months later, i ran into the same issues with the "new" units they sent me, same thing, plug it in, no light, not charging. I called nintendo back yet again. This time they said that if i wanted to have them look at it and see what the problem was then i had to send it in and pay them a service charge. Even after explaining that i had not had these units for a full year! I asked to speak with a supervisor and they said the same thing, there would be an $80.00 service fee applied for them to look at the unit. Granted when the units worked and charged well, they worked great, but i personally do not like...
...

The Nintendo DS Lite is a great little game console for anyone 6 to 60 and beyond. Its convenient to carry around in a purse or backpack, has different colours to choose from, and even different skins to personalize it.

I am here to write a review on the Nintendo DS Lite.

My wife and I both have one and it's great for linking up and playing games together. That was the whole purpose behind the purchase and it's given us hours upon hours of fun and entertainment. There is no shortage of great games for the system and third party support is the best. The touch screen sounds gimmicky at first, but it really isn't once you get to trying it. A great example is Trauma Center where you perform surgery using the stylus.

Yes, some games try a little too hard to utilize the stylus and touch controls, but games like that are few and far between. The best part is there is a great game for whatever genre it is you may like. Racing? Mario Kart Wii. Platforming? New Super Mario Bros. Adventure? Phantom Hourglass. RPG? The World Ends With You or any of the Final Fantasy or Dragon's Quest games. The list goes on and on.
...

I absolutely LOVE my Nintendo DS Lite. It has a long lasting battery life, so I can play with it for days without charging it, and it has a great slim design that comes in many different styles. The touch screen makes for a unique game play experience. Not only that, but there are TONS of games to choose from with great graphics Another thing that is cool is that you can play GBA games in it too, but not normal GBC games. Also, you can buy lots of skins to put on it to make it unique looking and yours. There are tons of accessories to go with it. It never lags, or usually has a problem. The only downside to these, is for some reason the corner hinge that attaches the screens tend to break a lot. I had a Pokemon Special Edition DS, and the hinge broke and I couldn't get it replaced by another Pokemon Special Edition one because they were all sold out, and I had to just get another normal system to replace it under my warrenty. So, if any, the only downfall is the okay build quality, that...
...

I've been playing on Nintendo Systems since the NES first came out. The Nintendo DS is a great system.

The system in available in a wide range of colors from black to red. If the american sites don't have a color you are looking for, you can always check the Japanese sites like play-asia.com for systems that are compatable with US electirc curents, and games.

The over all durability is pretty amazing. I have problems holding on to items and tend to drop things frequently. I've bounced this system off carpet, and down concreet stairs with out any real problems after wards.

It's small enough to fit in your purse or a jacket pocket with out too much issue.

The game selection is decent. It has a wide range of games that not only appeal to children, but for those of us who still love Mario, the Belmonts, Kirby, Link, and others, there a wide sellection of older and newer games feturing these characters. I personally love RPGs and have not been disapointed with the available selection....
...
