I am a huge fan of the whole Guitar Hero franchise, so I was stoke when I learned it would be coming to the DS. It really is a fun game and can get very challenging. The song choices are good - some older, some newer. I think everyone will be able to find a song they know or they will become a fan of a new song.

One of the biggest cons is that sometimes the guitar extension comes loose from the system itself, so you may be in the middle of a song and all of a sudden it'll stop. You will have to reset it at this point. Also, it can get a little bit boring after a little bit, but never fear! There is a dueling mode which is A LOT of fun! Another con is the awkward hand position. Having your hand through the handle can get uncomfortable. I try to just put my thumb through it, and it works for the most part. The hand position can also add to frustration with the extension coming loose.

I would recommend this for anyone with a DS. It's a great game and worth the money.
...

i love video games and i tend to be old school but i have to say the Guitar hero for ds sucks . I prefer the one for psII where u can actually play the fake guitar and go in your own little world of music . Ds is a great system dont get me wrong but im in my very early 40 s and prefer less difficult games its got great graphics and sound but i like to get into games with stuff like that and i find that its too much like the cellular download version of this game everyone is entitled to their opinion but with this game my 10 yr old did not even like it she couldnt figure it out we are big time gamers and take our fun seriously

so just leave the rest up to you if you prefer hand held then this is for you but if you are like me and like to really get into your games lol you know body movements lmao then i dont prefer this one sorry guys
...

My son got the nintendo DS for his birthday. He was asking to buy guitar hero with his birthday money. I was a bit reluctant, but found a reasonable deal at Best Buy for it so we got it. He has played this game far more than any of his other games. It is addicative and fun. He loves the 80's rock now and it's just so funny to watch him play. I like how they have beginner to hard modes so that everyone can play, even grandma. It even switches for left handed if you need it to.
...

Guitar hero has also been sold for the playstation and the wii but ever so recently we have come across something for the d s. it is called guitar hero world tour.it has both old and modern songs.it has great audio and it has a stroy modeou can even link and play two player on it.there is a con though. when you play on tghe wii you get a challenge asd there is 5 buttons but when you play on the d s you may note that there are only 4 buttons to play with thus making there little to no challenge what so ever. have beaten expert on it and have found that it is very fun to simply try and beat my high scores and make new onesi also play a game for every single note i miss i have to do that many extra puishups. or sometimes if i miss 100 notes i have to do that many situps.it is a fun way to have fun, do something that is free of course you have to buy the game first and my way of option makes it also great exerciseso what could be better? you have exactly what you need and exactly what i would...
...

I purchased the Guitar Hero: On Tour game for my Nintendo DS about a month ago. I have been a fan of the Guitar Hero games for the bigger consoles and thought it was a cool game to have on the go as well. I have not been let down, this game is a lot of fun. I purchased the game pack which included the button converter thing (excuse my lack of knowledge on the actual name of this technology) and the On Tour Decades game. I loved most of the song choices for this game because it ranges from 70s rock music to Present Day. You can play Lead Guitar, Bass/Rythm Guitar, and Guitar Duel. You also have the option of playing the duel mode with a friend using the DS wifi connection. It takes a little getting used to the buttons on this game as they are smaller and require you to hold your hand at a weird angle. I still find my hand cramping up after playing just one song. I like being able to use the "guitar pick" to strum on the touch screen. The Star Power activation is pretty cool too (scream into...
...

Having enjoyed the original Guitar Hero, I was especially pleased with a portable version for the DS. There are three sections of game play to go through and plenty of cosutmes and charecters to unlock. The song choices are good, although I wish there were more to choose from. If there is one thing that I don't like, it is the way you have to hold the game for play. I have small hands so it makes it very difficult to play for extended periods of time. Also, it is easy to beat the first few leves, so it makes it a little quick. I still recommend fo a fun game to travel with!...

What can I say about the Guitar Hero on tour other than it is great and hard to put down. My daughter got it on Saturday and is now working on the expert.

At first sort of a handcramp trying to use the pick and press the correct color button but once you get use to you get adddicted.

The music are the same songs from the Guitar Hero III so if you know the songs from there you can probaby get to the expert level fast.
...
