JonesMike says "great fun" about Nintendo - DS Console

My Nintendo DS reminds me how much fun I had when I would play my old school original Game Boy back when the screens were all yellow. Nintendo has a good idea of what makes up a simply fun and entertaining gaming product. While you will not see the more adult-themed titles like in the larger and more powerful systems, the DS focuses more on innovation on the level of experience. The Nintendo wi-fi system and linked game play is an awesome addition to their portable gaming system. My friends and I would play linked games of Mario Kart and have a blast. A great feature too is the "download play" feature where you can play a game with a friend without even owning the cartridge. This in my mind is a great gesture on the part of Nintendo, allowing users the ability to easily create a gaming experience that is truly unique. Of course there are many great titles for the DS - some of my favorites being Pokemon Diamond and of course Mario Kart. Go grab one and you will be sure to have tons of fun....
...

I’ve had my Nintendo DS for a few years now. I have been very impressed with the innovative touch screen technology, which responds extremely well. Some games do not really utilize it, but it adds a unique gameplay experience to the ones that do. While the graphics for the DS may not be as visually impressive as those of the Sony PSP, I still prefer the DS because of the better selection of games. While many of the PSP games are basically remakes of PS2 games, the Nintendo DS has many original games which are not available on another system. The sound isn't as great as the PSP (the occassional voices in some games are pretty bad) but the music is usually decent.

The game selection for the Nintendo DS is very extensive, although I still do not think the system has many quality RPGs. There are many simulation and puzzle type games available which makes this an excellent system for people that enjoy games such as Harvest Moon and the Sims. The second screen is often used as...
...

I love my DS. Not that I play it every single day but I have to say it might be part of the reason I love to travel. I get to play my brains out on my DS at the airport, on the plane, extended car rides... Since the DS plays GBA games also, the selection of games is virtually endless - and CHEAP! You can get used GBA games for dirt cheap. I was recently at a Gamestop and asked them about the DSi that was due later that week and it seemed pretty cool with the features (picture taking, web) until I asked if it still supported GBA games - No. That was like a -100 for the DSi.

Anyways, I havea PSP and the DS and the DS gets way more play. I just like the DS games better. I even got the spanish coach game and it actually was pretty good/helpful! I used it as sort of a refresher but the interactivity definitely helps. Plus, it's a lot easier than working out of a workbook (a la school classes). And I like the chat function - so what if you virtually never get to use it.

I suppose...
...

Its great for small kids but if your even close to age of like 10 .. this thing is just sad. The PSP replaces this with flying colors.
I absolutely love the Nitendo DS, it has amazing games to play, especially with the convenient touch-screen. There are games for every type of player out there, everything from puzzles to action war games. I definitely give this game console a 7 out of 10, but suggest upgrading to the DS Lite....

I have a blue nintendo ds, and absolutely LOVE it. it's portable, and has many games made for everyone. it was relatively cheap (85 dollars to be exact), but it's durable. where can you get something that durable, cheap, AND has all the games you know and love on it? ...NOWHERE. the only thing i would say that's negative about it, is that little kids SHOULD be supervised when using it...just a suggestion....

She absolutely loves the Nintendo DS. She is always playing with it. She loves the dual screen and the innovative touch screen features too. It is so durable yet stylish. They have come out with so many great games for the DS. There are games for little kids, big kids, girls, boys, and adults. You can even watch movies on it. We travel alott and this is great for the long car trips! The rechargeable battery is a great feature, you no longer need to stock up on AA's to keep gaming....

wildcatmom23 says "The best system I have ever bought my kids!" about Nintendo - DS Console

My kids have had alot of game systems but this is by far the best one I have ever bought for them. It is very durable as ours have bounced off the floor several times and still work great. They love the chat room feature. Most of their friends have the same system so when they come over they bring theirs and get on the chat room. My daughter goes in her room and chats with her brother in his room! The variety of games available makes it a great system for my 7 year old up to my 12 year old. The only problem with the games are they are very tiny so they can get lost easily. We have one case for all 3 kids and they can't get a game out unless they put one in. Works great for us! Can find some games in the $20 price range now so makes it a little more afordable in the gaming world. You have to keep the screens wiped down as they do get fingerprints easily but I think most of the systems are like this. Buy an extra stylus up front as they get lost too! Overall a wonderful......

I purchased my Nintendo DS used on Ebay for significantly less than it sells for in the stores, but we've had so much fun with it already, I'd consider buying another so that we can link up and play games against each other with the DS's built-in wireless connection.

I decided to get a DS because Nintendo games were the only ones I was ever able to keep up with. As a child I loved Duck Hunt, Mario, Zelda... As the games got harder they lost all the fun for me. I purchased my DS and the new Zelda game and was instantly wisked back to my childhood days of playing games with my cousin, listening to MC Hammer, and drinking A&W Cream Soda.

As I looked further into the games offered for DS, I discovered a plethora of "Edutainment" games for adults and children! And they're FUN!

This has definitly been one of my best purchases and I recommend it to any old school Nintendo fans, or anyone who wants a wide variety of games appropriate for the whole family.
...
