I love to travel, go to sporting events, and spend time with family and friends. Too many times, I was disappointed with the photos I took with low quality point and click digital cameras. The Nikon D80 dSLR is the perfect camera for the amateur who wants to step up their game. It's easy to use, but has all the advanced settings and options you will ever need.

A few of the features that attracted me to the camera were:

10.2 Megapixels, which yields very high resolution images. Great for this price range.
2.5 inch LCD monitor. This allows for quick assessment of picture quality. The zoom features allow you to evaluate the photos in even greater detail on the fly. Additionally, the menu options on the screen are simple and easy to navigate.
High-speed continuous shooting at 3 frames a second allow for great spontaneous shots.
High range of shutter speed options

I'm very much an amateur. The Nikon D80 is great for budding photographers because the auto settings produce consistently...

I absolutely love my Nikon D80. It is simple to adapt to if you are already adept at using SLR cameras. The automatic settings work quite well for all different types of photography. I bought my D80 over 2 years ago, but I would still recommend it today. I know there are newer versions - sure they are just as good. If you are a pro - there are a lot of manual features to use.

I have used this camera for over two years now, and never had any problems with it. Combined with 18 200mm VR Nikkor lens, it is a smart gadget that it pretty easy to use, yet very versatile with what it can do. I also have Nikon D300 ( more advanced version of DX cameras), but D80 is much lighter and great for travel....

We do a lot of traveling and I've found that the Nikon D80 with the 18-200 VR lens are all I need to pack. I love the versitility of the lens combined with the speed of the camera. My only complaint was how heavy it can get after a long day of trekking around a city with it hanging from my neck, but that was before I purchased a more comfortable strap. It takes a while to learn all the menus and features available if you are new to a digital SLR, it just takes some practice and experimenting. I love my D80 and don't plan on trading it in anytime soon....

I purchased the Nikon D80 for My wife for her birthday and i am so glad i steered away from the normal point and click cameras as this has great quality and easy functionality for the beginner or for the tenird professional. I would recommend buying this anytime over any other point or click...

The Nikon D80 is a great camera. Clarity of photos is great. It is user friendly on auto mode, but has manual features a pro could use. It focuses quickly for clear motion shots. The battery lasts for quite a while. A bit on the bulky side, and the lens cap tends to fall off easily.....

I bought my Nikon D80 to take some semi-pro shots. I have enjoyed it, with a few downfalls. I often find that once I download the pics to my computer, they are a little darker than shown on camera. Otherwise, the nature shots are as good as my 35mm. When I take the time to manually make adjustments, they can be better, but often the auto is just as good!...

The Nikon D80 digital Camera is a great camera for the price. It takes great pictures and it is really easy to use and to quickly switch between shooting modes. The only complaint that i have is that the stock lens is a little slow to focus in low light....

I Love My Camera and have Looooong since got my use out of it. I think its paid for itself already in vacation pix alone! Its very easy to use and lets anyone take amazing pictures! Once you get used to the settings and stuff theres so much you can actually do with it!!!...

WIth this camera, even amateurs can take professional looking photos. All the functions and features are greatly laid out and easy to use, the image quality is excellent and is overall a great camera. I gave it to my 9 year old son to try it out, and the pictures he took: amazing. Looked like some of those pictures the pros take for National Geographic or some other big magazines. Just amazing....

I have always had canon cameras in the past, but when i went to the store to purchase a new camera they had a deal on the nikon. I purchased it with the intention of taking it back if it did not meet my expectations. Once i used it, i was sold. I will never go back to a canon again. the quality of the pictures are great and the camera was so easy to use. i even let my 10 year old son take pics. you cant take bad pics with this camera
