Our family has alway been a film camera family. We like to take pictures. As a matter of fact we take pictures of everything and everywhere we go. It took a lot of research until we finally decided to go digital. When we did, we went all the way. We actually bought 2 digital cameras. One was a canon T1i and the other was this Nikon Coolpix. The reason we wanted two cameras was because our Canon is a much bigger camera. We decided that there were times when we wanted something that could fit in our pocket or purse. This little camera does just that. We did research on the Nikons and found them to be good reliable, well priced cameras. We are very happy with it. We have taken many, many pictures with it. The pictures turn out very well. The indoor photos with the flash are very good quality. The outdoor photos are really great on bluebird days!! We also love having the option to film. This is a great camera.

My Nikon COOLPIX L18 is a good camera for portraits. It does not take great pictures of scenery; the color is never quite right. Pictures never look as good as the real thing though, and cameres that come the closest are much too expensive. It also has a relatively long lag time between pictures. It is a great camera for someone who wants to take pictures for the memories. I would not recommend it for someone who is into photography as a hobby, however. It does have a pretty decent video function as well. Again, this is great for capturing memories but not recommended if you are serious about your videography. The 3X optical zoom is just enough for optimal memory capturing. It is a trusted brand for less. Pictures transfer well to any laptop through the memory card. It uses AAA batteries, so if I am camping all I have to do is bring extras rather than worry about charging arrangements. Easy to use. It also comes in great colors. The Nikon COOLPIX L18 is a great value for the price.

Love my Nikon L12-comparing it to a few Kodak cameras I have owned in this same
price range it is much better !
People have commented that it eats Batteries-mine does not.
It can get more than 150 Pix on one charge
You can use just plain ol AA batteries but they do not last as long.
For Best battery life use a quality Digital Camera Battery-check the battery Exp. date.
I purchased this camera and batteries over a year ago on sale at Circuit CIty.
I'm stilll recharging and using the same batteries-SO IT PAYS YOU in the long run to
invest a bit more, get Digitial Camera Batteries and a charger.
You will SAVE MONEY and have less battteries to harm the environment,

We just bought this for my daughter. She just loves it. Easy to use. Picture clarity is great! Printed pictures are great. Very easy setup. Menus are easy to use. Menus and controls are very similar to other Nikons. The zoom on the camera is great....

The nikon-coolpix L12 digital camera is great. It does everything! I have kids and love to capture every moment. It has a setting to catch them in motion. It has high MP so the pictures turn out beautiful and it also lets me record video. I can make my pics blak and white, sepia and all kinds of other options. I am so glad I chose this camera!...

Just one of the good points of the Nikon Coolpix L12 digital camera is that it has a standby mode that saves battery power. With my old camera, I had to bring whole packs of batteries with me if I was gone for the whole day. With this camera, I can use one set of batteries and still take all the pictures I want. It also has so many photo and color options so I can take some of the best pictures. I love this camera!

I would have to say, this camera was great at first, but then it slowly drops is quality, my camera must of broke, because it spazzes out a LOT! This camera burns batterys...FaSt....it should take pictures faster, and it needs better video qualities. It may be lightweight, but very easy to lose....

This camera is great for the price. I paid $129.00 for it. The controls are super easy to run. It takes nice clear pictures and video. I use it several times a week. The only thing is that it uses up the "AA" batteries really quickly. I thought that it was be convenient to have "AA"'s but in the first week that we had this camera we used probably four sets of batteries....

I have been taking photos for many years. Some great, some good, some not so good (photos, not years).

For the last 5 years I have been using a Sony 3.1 MP camera, which is a great camera, but it was very bulky and I was limited in the clarity of close up photos.

After doing a lot of research on newer cameras I had narrowed down my search to Sony, Olympus and Nikon.

I went to Wal Mart to look at and hold the cameras physically. I found that all of them were relatively comperable except for price. The Nikon was significantly less.

I have often found, usually, when something is much less expensive than comparably equiped competitors, there is a reason. However, I decided to give the Nikon a try. I'm really glad I did. I'm taking a lot more photos than I used to. Friends, neighbors and family have all commented about the sharpness and clarity of my photos and my wife insists that I have been secretly taking photography classes because she doesn't believe an inexpensive camera could make that...
