Awesome, the movie Next starring Nicholas cage and Jessica buel has got to be see. It is a movie with action happening from the very beginning to the absolute end. Funny, witty, and definitly unpredictable. Every moment leads to a new twist without one dull moment in the entire movie. Nicholas Cage's best performance yet and buy far one of the best movies ever made. By far a 5 star film through and through.

...

smgarnto says "great film typical of nicholas cage" about Next

I'm a huge Nicholas Cage fan!!! Would have seen the movie for that fact alone, but the story line was really great. At first kind of sounded like a been there, done that kind of movie.....guy sees into the future etc, etc, but this movie was different. I did have one major complaint, though. I could not believe when the movie was over. I watched the DVD and actually went back to make sure I didn't miss something! I sure never would have guessed the ending, but I hope they were setting it up for a sequel, because it didn't feel like the movie was finished. It left me a little frustrated, but I enjoyed it enough that if/when the sequel does come out I will be sure to watch it!...

Bonnyrabbit says "Movie with ESP is unpredictable." about Next

I really like movies with a twist, especially if it deals with trying to tell the future. The twist here is at the end of the movie. However, it ended so suddenly that you wonder what happened to the rest of the movie. If you haven't heard already, Nick Cage is in it as main character who can "see" the future 2 min ahead of him, with the exception of his supporting actress (I'm not good with other names) who permits him to see longer into the future. The reason why she helps him see farther into the future is unknown throughout the movie. The idea is that he's supposed to help stop a terrorist attack, but he doesn't want to because he'd have to be involved in possibly getting killed in order to help prevent the attack (based on his psychic skill). It leads you through this scenario of how it could happen or be prevented (for 90+ min) to then blip you back to the beginning (almost 20 min mark) to wonder how it really ended--based on his ability to see further into the future because......

I am not a big Nicholas Cage fan but I was impressed with him in this film. I thought the plot was creative and it kept me interested with its twists and turns. Other performances were very good too. But, near the end of the film I literally yelled at the screen and nearly threw a shoe at it! I was very let down and angered by the last twist and unfinished ending....

i loved this movie. i don't know if i necessarily would have been as satisfied if i had paid the exorbitant amount that movie theaters charge. it was a good dvd to buy.

it had everything - action scenes, a love story a little paranormal stuff; it was great. i even liked julianne moore in it, and i am not a huge fan of hers.

so basically i would definitely rent this movie, i purchased it. if you're a fan of nic cage, go ahead and buy it!!
...

Kasey says "First Rate Thriller" about Next

Next is a clever a very enjoyable movie with a lot of potential about a man who can see two minutes into the future. Nicolas Cage plays Cris Johnson a small time Las Vegas Magician who uses his ability to enhance his shows and to win at blackjack. But when a tough as nails FBI counter-terror agent played by Julianne Moore wants his help in thwarting a nuclear attack on Los Angeles. Cris finds his skills put to the ultimate test. Jessica Biel co-stars as Cris Johnson's love interest. All in all next is a very enjoyable and riveting thriller that at times will have you on the edge of your seat....

Good action movie, and not too bad as a family flick. (Mom of teen boys) The wrecking of the LandCruiser was the highlight. My husband is a LandCruiser fanatic and it was so painful for him to watch that sequence- but so hilarious for us to watch him!! Good movie- can't wait for the sequel....

I love a movie with non stop action or a movie that you cannot predict the ending. This movie was both. Loved watching it and would recommend it as a must see. This movie kind of makes you think of what you would do if you could see into the future. I would watch this movie again....

Nicole says "You'll never guess what happens Next!" about Next

Never fear, there are no spoilers contained in this review!

The Case

I'm a big fan of a good, hard-hitting, never-let-up-on-the-action kind of movie. The last time we were at the theater, we had no particular film in mind, so we decided on the new Nick Cage flick, Next. I wasn't expecting all that much, but honestly, the movie blew me away!

The Good

Next is about a man who can see the future, but only two minutes into the future. This is revealed in the first few minutes, and from there, you're just along for the ride. And what a ride! The movie is fast-paced, exciting, and had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. The characters are fun and real, and their motivations throughout the story are consistent, which is not always the case with a movie like this. The performances from Cage, Jessica Biel, and Julianne Moore were exceptional, especially Moore, who stole the show in more than one scene. And the best part for me was that the plot wasn't predictable. Even...
...
