The Neuton battery powered mower is a wonderful tool for any environmentalist. It is quiet, cordless and does not use gas. I have had people stop and ask about it while I was mowing. The neighbors like it because it is not noisy like gas powered mowers so it cuts down on noise pollution. It is not self propelled and since my lawn is on a slight slop I get my exercise done at the same time I get my lawn mowed. I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter. I definitely recommend this product.
...

This is great for those such as me that have allergies to grass and pollen. With the bag it keeps it from spiting grass and pollen in your face. I know when I had to do lawn mowing when I was a teenager I would have difficulty in breathing. This would help me to mow the lawn more. Hope this helps others with allergies like me.
...

After my family got sick of pulling their muscles trying to start the lawn mower, and with our daughter reaching the perfect age to push a grass devouring machine, we decided to try something new. We took a gamble on this Neuton Battery Powered lawn mower. Not knowing how long the battery would last, how wide a path this would cut, and how moveable this thing was, we bought it. It's the one tool we don't have to worry about. The battery is compact and has a handle that makes it easy to transport. The mower itself is light, and with two hand twists, the handle folds down on top of the mower, easy to transport to another property in a backseat of a car. With six different grass height settings, it's very practical for multiple uses, such as a very low setting when you're going out of town. Starting the machine is very easy. The material covering the handle is a little rough on my daughter's hands, but wearing gloves erases this problem. The battery lasts long enough to do the front, back,...
...

I don't recall when or how I discovered the Neuton battery-powered lawn mower, but I am on my second unit now. Previously, my husband had picked out mowers that required a yank on a cord to start them running. Unfortunately, I was totally unable to start these machines myself no matter how hard or how many times I tried to pull the cord. If he was not at home, there was no hope for me to start the mower and, of course, this meant the lawn would not be mowed at all. I was so pleased and relieved when I received my first Neuton that I could just push a button and the mower started up right away. The mower only needed to have its battery recharged after about 45 minutes of use and this just meant bringing it into the house and plugging it into a wall socket. The only tricky part of the operation was that it took about 16 hours for the battery to be completely recharged and my yard is large enough to require two days worth of mowing to take it all in. The folks at the factory...
...

Two years ago, we bought the Neuton CE 5.2 Battery -Powered Lawn .Mower. We were a little concerned as it seemed the advertising was just too good to be true. We decided to try the Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Lawn Mower for a season and then we would make a decision as to whether we should keep it , The whole first season people stopped as we were cutting and wanted to know about the mower. We called our Neuton "The Bumblebee Mower" because of it's quiet performance. All our neighbors complimented the quietness of the mower and the good looks of our yard. for the season, We were surprised at how light it was to push through even thick St. Augustine Grass. We particularlly enjoyed the easy conversion of the Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Lawn Mower to an edger and the quick edging job it did.. At the end of the season we decided to keep the Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Lawn Mower because our grass looked great and it was a good financial decision as we no longer...
...

I always hated buying gas to run a noisey, smelly motor mower, so my prefered mower was on old style motorless, reel mower, these are great for even ground but there were many areas where it just didn't "cut it".

I had thought about an electric mower, but was always concerned that I might run over the electric cord, so had put them right out of my mind.

So I started searching for a cordless alternative that didn't smell bad or give me a headache from the noise and I found the Neuton and bought it. The only downside to the mower is that we have a large lawn so it takes two batteries to be able to mow it all in one day. It is very quiet and it is good to be able to stop the mower for a while, then with a flick of the switch the motor purrs back into action.

I also have the attachment for edging and trimming, it is a very useful item and easy to use. It's good to have one reliable machine to do it all.
...

I bought my Neuton mower 4 summers ago. I bought the accessory pack that went with it.: Trimmer attachment, extra battery, grasscatcher. While my husband has put hundreds of dollars worth of gas in the riding mower to mow the lot, my yard is picturesquely perfect with but a little electricity. Because I have arthritis, I was unable to start the gas mower. No problem at all with this.....a little flick of the lever and it runs more quietly than my sewing machine. I do not find this mower heavy or unwieldy at all. And the trimmer is so much fun to use, and so much easier that hauling out the weed-eater. I have never had a moment's trouble with my Neuton in the 4 summers I have been using it.

...

Love it. We have a small lawn in a suburban neighborhood. This mower is light and the battery power is sufficient to mow our whole lawn on one charge. It has not yet 'bogged down' even after a week's worth of heavy springtime growth. It is also quiet.

The cutting width is narrow, but you get used to it. Perfect for small lawns.
...

Great concept, but not ready yet. I like the machine when it operates well, but it needs as much attention as my former gas mower. For example, the blade is constantly loosening, even with their special tool and I need to tighten it a few times a mow.'

I would be okay with a bit of extra attention to the machine, if I didn't have to buy my third battery in 5 mowing seasons (with light use) at $100 each. If you're an environmentalist, consider what the environmental costs are of producing and disposing of these batteries. If you're concerned about $, you'll pay quite a bit more for the machine and the batteries; certainly more than it would cost to get a better operating gas machine and purchase carbon offsets.
...

I have exchanged my gas lawnmower of 3 years, under the subsidized purchase price for the neuton, in the scope of LA Basin AQMD program, earlier in 2007. Since then I am cursing the day of this decision. Yes it does not need gas and yes it starts easily and yes it is quieter but none of these qualities compensates for what I lost.

We have 3 dogs and they all use the back yard as their toilet. With my gas mower, I could easily mow down the grass with the excrements on it. With this one, I have to do the pooper-scooper patrol prior to lawnmowing, which adds another half hour to my weekly chores.

With my gas mower, I could manage the growth by mowing every two weeks. With the neuton, if I don't mow for a week, I pay the price dearly by spending more than twice the time the week after.

Grass catcher bin on this thing is very small. It does not have the self propelled motion so you have to push it and it ain't a light beast by any means. If you have to shell out the full price from your own budget,......
