This NetGear WGT624 Wireless router is great for home networking. I have used this for 8 months now. I am a moderate techie, I will be honest here. I do know my basic home networking especially when my job requires me to install one certain brand router. Since then, that router is no longer available, I had to move on to different kind of router. With a videophone, this is very important to me and my family to be able to communicate with familes that are far away. Not many routers are compatible with the videophone. I didhave to do my homework to get all of my computers, videophone and WII all hook up to this. This is not for someone who is not familar with router installation. It is not a plug in -play. If you decide to get this router, be prepare to be frustrated on installation unless you are an expert. I had to recruit a friend of mine who is expert to explain some points. The netgear WGT624 Router is a great product and should be used by anyone wanting a wireless network. This is one easy and fast setup if your looking for a quick and easy network for the home or home office. You will have fast speed up to 108kbps that helps with uploads and downloads. You also can get this model of router at faster speeds for a little more money, but I would go with this unit to run up to 4 or more computers and still give you great speed on each. Trying other routers like linksys or dlink are ok but will cost more that you will need or want to pay for good speed overall. Make sure the pc's or laptops have some great speed of there own or you will just have wasted your time. I have had this router for three years now and used it with different ISP's (Internet Service providers). Which to me makes it a real deal to use nomatter what service you are using at the time. Before we went wireless in this house, people would tell us "just be ready to replace your router about every year". Well, with the Netgear WGT624 wireless router my husband and I purchsed, there have been NO issues.

It's been running steady for 3 years now without a glitch. We have 2 PC's connected at all times, and when I, or our son comes home with laptops, we hook right up.

Don't be folled or scared, just go out and get wireless with Netgear.

This is a good router when it works. Easy to setup, easy to do everything else. My first one failed at 6 months. My second one failed at 6 months. My third one failed at 6 months. My new router is a different brand & model and is not as easy but I haven't had to touch it in over a year. My routers are always on so I don't know if the heat got to this or not. I only paid $25 for them; I could've had one for less than $75 that was still working though....

I've been using this modem for over 3 years now and have never had a single problem. I use it both wired, direct to my main PC, and wirelessly to my laptop and the media center PC.

It has everything you could possibly need, including 108Mbps transfer speed over wireless network, both USB and LAN connections, 4 wired outputs, and was a bargain to boot, compared to competitor products. If it is still available I would recommend it to anyone, and if not, I'm sure that there is a similar later version available from NetGear.

It doesn't get much better than this!
