After trying two Net10 LG600 phones and many hours talking to their useless service dept. I have lost 580 minutes and own $100 worth of inoperable phones. They appear to be either incapable or unwilling to help anyone who has difficulties with their junk.
...

dishgirl1010 says "Great For The Person On a Fixed Income" about Net10

Net10 prepaid Cell phone service is great, I am on a very fixed income and Net10 helps me keep in touch with family and friends. I don't have a landline so $15.00 dollars a month for phone service is a great deal. I have had service with Net10 for over a year now and I find that I can buy minutes online and they have the Easy minutes program where you sign up and have the minutes added every month, and if your running low on minutes you can add time right from your phone or online or by purchasing a card at many retail stores. I have had issues when upgrading from one phone to another but they were resolved quickly buy calling there customer service line. You don't lose your minutes if you don't use them but you do have to keep you phone activated every 30,60 or 365 days.
...

So I purchased an LG prepaid phone at WalMart because I was tired of the hassles with AT&T and my contract recently expired. For 30 bucks I received a phone and 300 minutes, a steal considering the minutes alone would've been 30 dollars. My phone worked great, however after recommending it to my mother she purchased the exact same deal from the same Walmart. You could not hear out of the phone unless it was on speakerphone, and I triple checked all settings, volume was set to 5 (highest setting) for ringtones, textmessaging, keypad, volume control etc. I figured, well, must be faulty, it's not that big of a deal because my mom loves speaker phone anyway - any excuse to be on the phone and doing something else at the same time lol. Well she had the phone working great for 3 days. After a weekend away with my boyfriend I returned home only to have her tell me that not only could she not dial out anymore (she kept receiving error messages and sometimes she said the phone would freeze up on...
...

My husband and I have been using Net10 as our cell phone service for almost 4 years now. The service has always worked regardless of where I have gone and the pre play situation works great for us vs the traditional plans. I compaired cost on all the other pre play plans and this one is the least expensive!

Some times when you purchase airtime online it will not go through all the way but you will be charged so you will have to call them. Their customer service leaves somthing to be desired. They have accents that are very hard to understand so it makes any call to them very painful.
...

Cheap maybe, but you get what you pay for. Their customer service people are dense as doorknobs. Furthermore, for someone like me who doesn't use his cell phone very much, getting rolled over even on their cheapest renewal terms still accumulates hundreds of minutes. I contacted them several times to ask to purchase extra service time, not minutes, but stupidly they refused. So now I'm switching to another service and good riddance.
...

I needed a prepay service that is very cheap for phone calls and has a great signal.Net10 is so perfect.I recently bought there LG 300 and it only took like 5 minutes to activate it.It was so easy. And I live in a area where some cell companies do not get good reception. Well Net 10 is very strong and the call clarity is perfect no matter where I am.For 10 Cents a minute for calls it cannot be beat.I know I have tried different companies and they are cheapes for voice calls and one of the strongest in perfect reception....

jmcginnis10 says "Affordable, quality, and outstanding prepaid cellular service" about Net10

After almost endless scouring through different prepaid cell phone providers, I finally decided to go with NET10. I purchased a kit that came with the phone (LG - LG300), Wall charger, Car charger, carrying case w/ belt clip, AND 300 FREE MINUTES & 60 days of service....all for about $30 at Wal-mart. Once I run out of minutes I can purchase another 300 minutes for only $30. That's 10 CENTS per minute. I've had no dropped calls, no dead zones, and GREAT clarity. The phone is a bit small, so that took some getting used to. BUT for teenagers or women with smaller hands, this might be the perfect size.

You can buy minutes thru your phone, over the internet, by calling the 800 number, or purchasing a card in store and entering the information via your cell phone. 300 minute purchases last 60 days. Thats 150 minutes per month (and of course you can buy 600 and 1000 minute cards that last even longer). ALSO if you purchase more minutes before your 60 days is up, ALL unused minutes......

rentb says "Great Coverage, Low Price, No Contract!!!" about Net10

I have had NET10 since March 08 and the service is great. They talk about more bars well I am getting much better coverage than I did from Verizon. Verizon had no signal where I work, NET10 5bars. I have an LG phone and so far have never drepped a call. With Verizon I always dropped calls.

I would highly recomend NET10!!! I am saving a ton of money (with Verizon for the 400 min basic plan with taxes and fees I was at $49.00 a month, and min's did not roolover) With NET10 they have simple plans to meet almost everyone's needs. In my case I don't use the phone that much and I am using the $30.00 every other month plan that includes 300 rollover mins. So I am spending $15.00 a month using about 100 min a month and rolling over the rest. I now have over 600 mins banked.

I am saving $34.00 a month and the call quality is as good as Verizon with better coverage and NO DROPPED CALLS!!!

By the way with Verizon Contract every time I changed something the contract got extended....
...

SpringChick says "You get what you pay for... buyer beware!" about Net10

The price is hard to beat, especially if a full-blown monthly plan is more than you need. But I have to question if the savings is worth the trouble of dropped calls, poor coverage area, deplorable customer service and unethical practices.

Most of all I am completely disgusted that Net10 disabled the "connect to PC" feature on my Motorola W375 before they sent it to me, disabling the ability to download photos to my PC or upload my own ringtones. What good is a camera phone without the ability to download the photos? Is this even legal? Certainly it is not ethical. I carefully read everything before purchasing this phone with Net10 and nowhere did it state this would be the case. It is obviously a ploy to force you to use your minutes to purchase their ringtones and wallpapers, and believe me, you will quickly burn through minutes getting these things. Accessing the web browser uses minutes and then more minutes are eaten up navigating through their slow-loading, poorly indexed......

Ten cents a minute for calls, 5 cents for texts, not too shabby for prepaid. I will warn you though, if you have to call for customer service, you are, of course, calling India. You can take care of just about any issue on their website though....

I've only had Net 10 for about 7 months but this is the best no non-sense phone and pre-paid service I've ever had.

Easy to use, easy to sign up, 10 cents min./ talk, 5 cents/text. Any time, anywhere. This is excellent! International calling is only slightly more but I don't use it anyway.

Recharging can be done online. on the phone or buy a card, easy. You can also set it up to recharge minutes automatically if you wish.

The coverage area is huge. I haven't gone anywhere yet that I haven't had service.

This is the cell service that's just right!...

I've had a net 10 phone for a while now. the price is very good for a high school student that makes very little money. for the most part, my dad and grandparents pay for it. but, the price is cheap, only ten cents per minute. it's five cents for each text message.
sometimes I have a little bit of trouble with the service. but, it's much better than the tracfone that I used to have. there are times that I don't recieve text messages from people that sent them to me.
though, for the price, the phone quality and service is really great.
...

Not too bad of a cell phone for someone who doesn't want to be tied down to a contract or be required to use so many minutes a month. You buy a card or purchase time on the internet in dominations of 300, 600 or I believe 1000 minutes at 10cpm and you have at least 3 months or more to use them up which isn't bad. Every time you purchase additional minutes, you get additional months added onto the time to use up the minutes.

The downside is that there are no free nights or weekends. Incoming calls and checking your messages go against your minutes and there isn't anyhting cheaper than 10cpm even when buying higher amounts of minutes.

But all in all, it's not too bad for a prepaid service.

...
