Neopets is a fun site. It has games, quests, battledome, exploration and all sorts of other things. It's not geared towards adults but I still like it although as an adult it got a little too powder puff for me at times and I got bored with it easier I think.

Main con is the advertisment. It was really everywhere and it was the flashy kind that got annoying fast

I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking for good clean fun, looking to kill time and/or looking for adventure.

I love Neopets as it is a great website for your whole family! My kids joined Neopets first and later introduced me to the site to join to lessen my stress after work. Now my older grandkids are playing there as well. It is nice they can be there having fun and not be exposed to malicous media. The games are challenging and entertaining at different levels. Shops introduce money management. There are many areas in the land of Neopia that one can grow through.

I highly recommend this website to anyone who wants to let their children experience a game site and any adult who wants to stay a kid at heart! Everyone can allow their imaginations to roam! Also, there are great guilds where you can meet other adults to share conversations with and make great friends, and your children can do the same....

A great site for the entire family. This sire is perfect for children to learn math reading and is very entertaining for all ages. The guilds are an excellent way to meet new people and make new friends I love this site but and giving it a 3 out of 5 though is when they freeze an account even if they froze it wrongfully they almost never even consider unfreezing it and that is why I am giving it such a low rating even though it is a great site....

Ah, yes, Neopest...oh, that's right, it's Neopets, isn't it? I was an early adopter of Neopets, having joined on April 20, 2002. The site was launched online on November 15, 1999, by two college students, Adam Powell and Donna Williams, and was originally intended for college-age players, not children. About six months after Neopets was established, it was bought by a group of investors led by Doug Dohring and turned into the first example of "immersive advertising", which is the placing of brand-name products as an essential and more or less unobtrusive part of the playing/viewing experience. Viacom purchased Neopets in June of 2005 and promptly turned up the advertising considerably, concentrating on banner ads as well as product placement within the site's games and virtual-purchase items to use when feeding and playing with your virtual pets. Until this time, Neopets had a reasonably friendly feel, with Adam still on staff and making occasional visits to the chat boards,...

It allows kids to have a pet "born" that they first create, or they can adopt an abanndoned pet at the Neopia pound. everything is bought and sold for NP's (the money of neopia). When signging up for an account, users choose their age, so they are only allowed to do cettain things and cgo to certain places. It is a great and fun site! ...

Neopets was once a very fun site for college-age kids like myself. As time went on it became more "kid friendly" in various ways, yet it still has many parts that adults can love like guilds, chatting, and games. However, in recent years, the site has started filling up with advertisements. Also, the recent "improvements" to the site have all been made to "force" players to buy items in real-life. For example; to clothe your neopet properly, one either has to play many games and save their neopets for a long time, or they can go to the store and buy cards for the NC mall. On the NC mall they can buy clothes that are 10X better than any of the neopoint clothes. If this isn't enough of an issue for us poor college kids who are playing on the site; the cards are expensive, and not enough points are given for buying each card. The site used to be fun, now it's a total bore for someone without cash handy...

My daughter started playing on Neopets when she was in middle school. She showed me the site, and I started playing, too. They are conscious that they're dealing with children. I had to fax a parental permission slip for her to get access to the message boards. This was 5 years ago, so I don't know if they still do that, but I thought it was incredibly responsible. I love the games. They entertain me and my daughter. Some are educational, while others are just fun. They are constantly updating the site and trying to improve it. The best part? Everything you really need to enjoy the site is absolutely free. Great job!...

I had a horrible experience with neopets. I was a huge fan of theirs for a long, long, long, time. Did you ever notice how many warnings that there are about don't tell anyone your password, make sure that it says neopets.com and stuff like that? This is because so many people misuse this game. The last time that I had somebody fix my computer I had over 100 viruses in it. I only went to neopets, people. Then Neopets took away my account. WHY, you ask? Well I was offline for over a year and someone figured out my password. So my cute little pets, all four of them I can not play with. I tried talking to neopets like 100 times, they just don't care. This is not the first time that this has happened, someone got my password before and messed up my shop too. So I decided not to make a new account. I decided I didn't want to deal with the drama. So, if you play on neopets make sure that you have an excellent anti-virus, anti-spyware, & firewall on your computer....
