DONT BUY THE PRODUCT. They have horrible customer service. We bought this product used it maybe twice and after that it would radomly shut off. We contacted customer service to find out it was no lnger located in the USA. GPS wont even work anymore. We have had several issues. The USB cable it comes with is a special kind and this is the only cable you can use the will work with the navigon correctly. Our product takes forever to find a sattlelight intially and once it has it is ok but we were usually half way to our destination. We have contacted the customer service several time and they do not back up there products. ANd it took forever to even find a number to get a hold of them. They have recently left the USA. another thing it does is it will tell you to make a lot of u turns instead of finding the best route it continusly tells u to find the nearest u turn. That was so frustrating. I will say one last thing... it hsa made me a lot more aware if my surroundings and has totally defeated...
...

What a great little device this is. It' is amazing what this little thing can do. The Navigon 2100 has this amazing color touch screen that is way cool. With 64 MB of built in memory you couldn't ask for more. It came with a rechargeable lithium ion battery, car holder, car power adapter with TMC antenna. Once you enter in where it is you are headed the Navigon 2100 will calculate your route to avoid U-turns, quickest route, avoid toll roads, fast/short route and the features go on and on. It also has an SD slot for added memory. Some of the features on this device are; optional external GPS antenna connection, built-in speaker, speed limit warning, 2D / 3D map perspective, TMC (Traffic Message Channel) ready, preinstalled POIs, Text-to-Speech (TTS). We personally love the fact that "Lola" will talk to us and recalculate our route if we want to make and unplanned detour. The speed limit warning is a god send too, for those of us that just like to get in and drive.
...

I purchased the Navigon about two years since I was going to vacation in Florida. I found it to work well except it takes awhile to find the signal once you turn it on. It gives me solid directions and seems to get me there the easiest and fastest way possible.
...

Very easy to use. I plugged it in and it was ready to go, right out of the box. All the menus are easy to understand and the autocomplete option is nice.

I have used it several times and I'm impressed that I always get the correct directions. The best part is that it highlights which lanes you are to stay in. I don't think others have do that.

The voice is really clear so I never have trouble understanding the directions.

The touchscreen works great. Autocomplete for streets and city names with few misses and never lost signal once.

Traffic advisory, speeding alert...what more could we ask for?

I did tons of research before my purchase. So glad that I chose Navigon!!
...

"Computer Lady" will get you in the area but falls a little short for the exact destination. When going to my sister's house it told me to take a right after I passed the street. It also told me my destination was on the left when I was pulling into the driveway on the right. However, in her defense, she has gotten us around unfamiliar areas with few problems and recalculated routes with minimal effort. All in all worth the investment.
...

sould says "Great for the price, but not a perfect system" about Navigon 2100 GPS Navigator

I purchased this Navigon system almost two years ago. It's held up well, but in retrospect, I would have purchased a different gps system. Compared to the other gps systems in my family (TomTom, Garmin), the Navigon tends to take longer to locate the satellite and sometimes has issues avoiding traffic. Additionally, if I am stopped in traffic, it will tell me to exit on some non-existant road because it gets confused. Sometimes it takes me out of my way to get places (ie: has trouble identifying the optimal route). The POIs also aren't great. It seems they're only listed if they're paid advertisers. I can't find a drugstore with my Navigon. It's simple to use, but it could be faster and more accurate....

My Navigon 2100 has never worked.

Bought this GPS (Navigon 2100 Max Portable GPS) at Staples sometime ago. We had the chance to try it on several trips both within and outside the State of Maryland. We found it very reliable and very handy. Full of useful information that guided us safely through places that we were visiting for the first time. We simply love it and recommende it
...

We just got the navigon 2100 max (the 4.3 inch screen).

It is a great unit love the large screen and the POI database seems comprehensive (I love the logos on the screen).

The lifetime traffic is a MAJOR bonus, it prevented my in-laws from missing their train home this weekend as a road we take was closed due to accident.

I like the fact that you can update the maps quarterly I downloaded the quarter 4 maps before leaving but it did not seem to take I will try again later. I probably missed a step.

When I got the unit through Amazon it included both traffic and maps in the original price and it was less then the black friday deals in the stores.

The reality view is a big benefit and the directions are detailed and clear.

The use of the unit is fairly intuitive, although I wish they included the full usermanual in the box rather than having to go to the website.

The mount is a little hard to set up at first but very sturdy once in place.

All in all it is a great value for the price....
...

I originally got a garmin but returned it for the navigon ,basically for the reality view, and it has gotten me where I need to go ,but the POI's are not so great! On the Garmin I was able to put in stores like toysrus but there are no stores listed on the navigon,so you basically have to be home and look up the address! But since the company is new ,maybe they will make this a feature, with updates!...

Okay here goes. We are from the 40's, in our 60's, been through the invention of the television to the computer and ready and willing to try the next thing down the road. I am the last one beside my husband to have a cell phone. He will never get one. He will use one, but not pay for one. Anyway, back to the Navigon. Here is our experience with the Navigon, it is either 2100 or 2001, I can't remember. some 60's thing I guess lol. Anyway, we farm and never go anywhere, my husband sits in a chair all winter long and watches the tube and when spring comes he turns in to a farming maniac. Well, this year some of his cronies from his favorite meeting place decided to get ill. I came down the stairs to see him practically in tears. He didn't say anything, but I knew. He was feeling mortal. He has worked from the time he was 5 years old and cut his hand half off when he was 5 in a cornpicker. They managed to put most of it back on though. Well, I can never get him......
