alienscientist says "Mediocre voice quality, software not great" about Motorola - Razr V3m Cell Phone

I got this phone because it was 1) free with the contract and 2) included a camera and mp3 player. I had a Sharp phone before, but needed to get a new phone because I switched to a different carrier. I immediately noticed that the voice quality on the RAZR was not as good as on my old phone. The other very annoying feature of the phone is that it is set up to make it easy to use premium services that come at an extra charge, such as downloading ring tones. I don't want to use these features at all, but I have occasionally hit the wrong button, and my phone automatically connected me to the internet and I got charged for it. Also, by including these features in the main menue, Motorola makes it more difficult to navigating to more useful features such as the alarm clock, sound settings, and the mp3 player. The MP3 player in particular is so user-unfriendly that I have actually never used it - I end up just using my iPod instead.
...

I recently purchased the Motorola Razr V3m Cell Phone, and I must say, I just absolutely love this thing! It has some really good features! Where do I start... Ok, first of all, it has a really good digital camera, especially as far as cell phone cameras go! Sure you can make the photos that you take low quality if you want to, it does have those different settings, but in high quality, wow, it is surprising how good they turn out, especially when you print them out! Allot of cell phone camera photos are not very clear, and turn out very 'pixilated' when you try to upload them to another media device, like your computer or your photo printer, and the like, but this one turns out really, really surprisingly good! This phone has a ton of memory available alone, but you can also add a mini memory card to it and WOW does it ever have a ton of memory when you do that! I bought a four gigabyte mini memory card for it and I really don't thing I'll ever be able to use up all the space it has now!...
...

When I got a new phone, I ended up gett a PINK Motorloa Razr, which is so me! After I had three BOYS, I became a girly-girl and a pink phone was just the ticket!!

I have used the camera to take pictures of things I see when I am out and about to check with DH to see if I should get them or if they match something. They are not the same as a real camera, but the pictures look better than a lot of my friends' pictures taken with older phones.

I have used the texting feature a little bit so far and my only issue is with me - I suck at it! My oldest is getting a phone soon and I am sure I will have to get much better at it soon! My biggest issue when texting is getting the right button pushed the right number of times with fingernails. It is hard.

I know the VCast is an option with this as is a mobile browser, but I have not tried or used that on this phone, so I do not know how well it works.

The Motorola V3M is a great flip phone. It is slim and lightweight, fits easily in a pocket. Easy to talk on and made of study metal. It held up for 2 full years in the hands of a college student and my dad has been using it for another 2. Had to replace the battery after the first 2 years, but i talked and texted on it a lot. I like how you can turn down the ringer volume with the outside keys. Comes with really pretty ringtones. The only issue I have with it is the menu isn't very intuitive and until you learn your way around the phone it's difficult to find what you want.
...

This phone is not bad, it works even though I have dropped it many times. The network could also be better and would help the performance of this phone greatly. You can get a good deal on a new one from Sprint. One drawback is that some phones combined with certain areas can roam when you are in your own house!...

I have had this phone for nearly a year. Coming from an ancient no name flip phone model, I was excited to have the razr, which essentially brought cell phones from an age of bulk to a slim, high-tech design. This is the original razr, and let me tell you, I would much rather have any of the other razr models or cheaper flip phone alternatives. This phone is so incredibly slow. That is probably my biggest pet peeve. This phone makes for an avid text messenger's worst nightmare. The more texts you save on your phone, the slower it becomes. And when you go to delete the messages, it can take a solid 10 minutes to delete all of them. One thing I was warned about when I got the phone was its durability. I heard that it could break very easily, and by looking at it, it didn't surprise me. This, above all else surprised me the most. I won't say it's the most durable thing I've ever had, but it defenitely surpassed the poor durability expectations it was given. I have dropped......
