The Moto Q is a great all-in-one phone in my opinion. It's got everything I need,Mp3 player, camera, planner, phone, internet browser. Basically a mini Pc with phone service. I got mine from Verizon, so I got a great deal when I renewed my contract. It sounds great playing music, takes great pictures, and gets good cell phone reception. I like that it's so thin it fits in my pocket. I like the huge screen on it and I can buy new apps for it. I can't afford internet access on it so I couldn't so how it is to browse the internet. This is the first Smartphone I've had so I can't compare it to the others. But it's a goodphone. Now to the cons, first thing is that it's a little wide. My brother in law asks me if i have a laptop to my ear.The other is that the keys are so small and close together that people with big fingers would have trouble typing with it. Luckily I have small fingers. The last thing is, I have to keep it locked because its so easy to accidentally...
...

aibrean says "Good Phone, save the battery" about Motorola Moto Q Smartphone

I purchased my Motorola Q to be able to check my email from anywhere and not having to worry about having a computer with me. The data package you need (at least with Verizon) is a bit of a bummer cost-wise, but functionally with Windows on it, there is a lot you can do (it also has Internet Explorer and you can download Google Maps for free for it). The only downside I have had so far is battery life. If I don't actually talk on it, the battery life has averaged about 6 hours which if you are using a 4-day charge flip-phone, it's a big difference. When I have it at work I keep it plugged in and when I'm driving it's charging as well. As for sound quality, I thought it would be a bit weird because of it's size but I can hear fine and the speakerphone options works quite well too. I also noticed that if I don't have my nails long it's hard to use the type pad (and I have size 5 finers!)

It's a good phone for the price and the options it has but make sure you keep it charged or have a backup......

I have had cellular service with Verizon Wireless for quite some time and every two years I get a free upgrade on my phone. I have been doing a lot of research on phones and knew that when my upgrade came due that I was going to get the Moto Q, because of all the features it has. My main reasoning for this phone is I wanted the email capabilities, and a QWERTY keyboard to make responding easier.

The amount of things this phone can do is incredible. I really like the navigation in the phone. I can find the nearest bank, nearest McDonalds, whatever I am looking for. Probably is not the safest thing to do while driving though, so you always want to remember to pull over if you are going to do that.

I do have to say that my phone's battery needs to be charged frequently. I use it quite a bit, so I am thinking of investing money for an extended battery. This has to be one of the best Smart Phones on the market, and I intend to upgrade mine and keep it for years to...
...

I've had my Motorola Q for about 6 months now, and generally enjoy it. Things I like about the phone include nice big screen, excellent game selection, and you can download your own music onto the phone and make ring tones with it. I do however, have a few issues with the phone. The qwerty keyboard feature is something that I really don't like, for me it's much harder to text with this feature. My major problem with this phone is with the silver default button. It's extremely sensitive, and it tends to call who ever is first in your address book if it rubs against the side of your pcoket. Camera quality is ok, as is the internet capability. Overall this is a good phone if you are looking for a phone with a little more oomph. ...

Pros: This phone is awesome. You can literally do anything with it. You can create your own ringtones and store it to the memory. It even has GPS and you don't have to buy anything extra to make it worth, other than pay $10 a month to your provider. I would reccomend this phone to anyone. Texting is a breeze with the little keyboard. Speakerphone is really loud. The only downside is that the battery does run out quick in the small battery but you get a free larger battery with the phone. You can't go wrong. Only Con: If you don't have an unlimited internet access on your phone, you might want to check for running tasks because they don't automatically close and it could run your bill up....

The Moto Q (mine is from US Cellular) is a great entry level Smart Phone. The basics all work great, above average, with intuative controls and an easy interface, I was using by habit within the first few days.

Big drawbacks include a lack of a notepad function and no mapping function. Plus there a button to turn on speaker phone that gets hit often.
...

i decided to purchase the moto q when my old phone's microphone quite working. i purchased it off ebay with an extended batter pack, charger, car charger, usb cable, sd card, and desktop charger. i have been very impressed with it so far! i am a majr texter, and the moto q makes texting a breeze. the internet is fast, and the extended battery gets great life. it is overall small, lightweight, and not very wide. it has too many features to count, and i love that it's a windows operating system. it does have a tendency to continue running programs, so you do have to frequently check the task manager and kill the running tasks. overall, i am very impressed with this phone....

I was really excited when I first got my Moto Q, but compared to other phones so far it just seems to be 'okay'. I use my cell phone as an alarm clock on the road, however this one even at the highest volume possible is barely audible no matter what tone I pick. Also it seems like the battery is dead every other minute - when I bought it the man said to make sure there weren't programs constantly running which apparently drains batteries so I have been, but it doesn't seem to matter. Overall as I said before I would give this product an 'okay' -- definitely not the worst, but not the best either....

As a computer consultant with a large territory. I needed something portable enough that I could take it everywhere, but powerful enough that I could keep up with everything I needed when I was on the road. With only a few additions the moto Q is the perfect cell phone for me. I added the extended battery, and some software to allow me to sync my notes. I have never been more pleased with any other new device I have ever purchased....

The Moto Q smartphone is a great phone. It has clear call quality and good reception. Battery time is typical of a smartphone, it needs to be charged daily if you use it a lot and/or have it checking your e-mail a lot. The screen and keyboard are small, however, and that keyboard is also how you dial, so try it out in a store before you buy it because you may have trouble dialing while not looking at the phone (i.e. while driving). The voice regognition software works great on every name I have except (for some reason) the name Ryan. However, you have to say an extra command "name dial" and wait for it to recognise that command before you can use the voice recognition, which is typical of all new Moto phones and not a positive in my mind....

This is a very easy to use smart phone.

My only complaints about it though would be the Very small number pad, ( I have large hands) and the short usage time. It does though have a pretty decent stand by time, and the bluetooth setup is very easy to use.

...

The keypad on the Motorola Moto Q smartphone is exceptional. Text messaging is a breeze with this phone. Love the mobile internet access as. Reception is great. Highly recommend this product. With available V-cast music and video downloads are a cinch. And the camera takes clear, crisp pictures. Great phone for multi-tasking in a wireless world.
...
