SallyB says "great for the politically correct natural living newbie" about Mothering

I've been reading Mothering since the early 90's and my mom has read it since the early 80's. Their niche over the years hasn't changed much: question the status quo, follow your instincts, and always take the more natural, gentle route. There hasn't been much new information for me over the last few years, but it helps to keep tabs on the latest information on vaccines, cloth diapering, breastfeeding and birth. And the personal stories are nice. ...

My wife started getting this magazine as we prepare for our first child. She has shared several articles with me.

It is a common sense, family oriented magazine filled with useful articles unlike so many of the "checkout aisle" rags. We like it!
...

MamaPam says "Mothering magazine is the only parenting magazine worth reading." about Mothering

I was disapointed with the parenting magazines I was finding on the market. They were will full of mostly fluff articles and not helping me be a more informed parent. I was so excited when I found Mothering Magazine. Every issuse is full of great article on natural family living. Mothering magazine is not afraid to deal informatively with sticky issues such as childhood vaccinations. The articles and even advertisements provide me with unique information.
...

JayeKing says "Goes where no other parenting magazine goes..." about Mothering

I friend gave me a subscription to Mothering when my daughter was born and this has fast become my favorite parenting magazine. Mothering advocates for the best for our children without succumbing to the commercialism that other parenting magazines do - the Best Toys of the Year were all environmentally sustainable (and none were toxic for our kids!). This magazine speaks to those of us trying to raise kids to appreciate the important things in life - love, family, dignity, and respect for oneself and others and the earth. I appreciate that!

Also, you can get an electronic subscription. Less money and saves trees!
...

I've loved this magazine for more than a decade! First discovered it when I was apprentice to a local lay midwife. Very informative, and I never throw an issue away! They are great for referencing later.

This magazine is pro family - homebirth/natural birth, breastfeeding, eco friendly parenting, the family bed, etc. Very informative articles.
...

daisie125 says "A wonderful magazine for the natural parent" about Mothering

This magazine blows me away with every issue. There is always something interesting and exciting to read about. Unlike other magazines for parents, Mothering focuses on natural and gentle parenting such as cosleeping, breastfeeding and babywearing. They advocate gentle birth choices such as homebirth and birth without drugs, and always are up to the minute with the latest information on the health and wellbeing of my children....

I'm so excited each time a new issue arrives. Mothering contains articles that are truly informative and helps families to make the best possible decisions on issues such as: healthy pregnancy and childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition, cloth diapering, environmental awareness, schooling options, vaccinations, traditions, safe toys, organic options, circumcision, disabilities, cosleeping, babywearing and so much more. All the topics that impact me and my family.

I read each issue cover to cover, even the ads. The focus on forming strong family bonds is evident even in the advertisers that choose to partner with Mothering.

Mothering is my favorite magazine and an ideal gift for anyone considering starting their family.
...
