My daughter was born attached I couldnt go anywhere without holding her. When we were out shopping she HATED being in her stroller or the baby sling. When she was about 2 months old she was to heavy(13lbs) to carry thru the entire store for an hour or 2, so I was searching for a carrier that both baby and I would like, thats when I came across a woman wearing a moby, I stopped her and asked her what it was, she explained to me what it was and how to get one. Now I wear my moby everywhere and my daughter LOVES it.
...

ellishl says "The Moby Wrap is the BEST baby item!!" about Moby Wrap

I bought a Moby Wrap when I was pregnant with my second child. It was a lifesaver! I used it every day! It was great when I needed to get something down. Or when my daughter was cranky. Or at the grocery store. It keeps the baby close and is comfortable. It was great when my daughter was young. I could hold her close and she would fall asleep instantly. It ALWAYS calmed her down. As she got older, I was able to use it in different ways. I could face her out or in. She stopped falling asleep in it but it did provide comfort for her. It looks complicated to put on but once you've done it a few times it is very easy. I am able to do it at home or while I'm out. The fabric is not too thick so I don't get hot while I'm wearing it. It is a very comfortable fabric - like a jersey knit. I was also very pleased with the price. It is much less expensive than many of the carriers that are available. It is definitely my favorite baby item!
...

pacmansmommy says "I love, love, love my moby!!!" about Moby Wrap

I absolutely love my Moby wrap. It has helped soothe my baby since he was one week old. He is ten months now (and 24 pounds!) and I still use it all the time. Once you get used to wrapping it you can do it quickly and anywhere. I have put mine on in the car many a time ( not while driving :) Just this weekend we went hiking with our baby in the Moby. I recommend this to every woman I know who is having a baby. Best $40.00 I have spent on my baby yet!

I have had people ask me if it is uncomfortable and I always tell them that this is the most comfortable baby carrier I have tried on. I recieved a front baby carrier (infantino) for my baby shower and I used it once becasue it hurt my back so bad, and my baby just wasn't as snuggled.

It does get hot so I don't put my baby in with his sweater or coat on. If when we are walking it does get a little chilly I just wrap a blanket around him on the outside.

I have found many more holds than they show you in the booklet. Once...
...

The Moby wrap offered multiple ways to carry our firstborn and be hand-free. She loved to cuddle and we could multi-task and maintain closeness with the Moby wrap. We had several options, whether she was snuggled facing our chest, ready to sleep, or facing forward, checking out the world. I preferred wearing the wrap in public when shopping as people were less likely to reach and touch her when I was wearing her versus sitting in an infant carseat. Knowing she wasn't going to be touched and pick up germs from well-intentioned people made the Moby wrap that much more valuable! As she grew larger and had more head control we simply changed how we carried her in the wrap with a few different tucks and twists. The Moby wrap was easy to use and the guide book offered wonderful descriptions, as well as pictures, to make putting the wrap on very easy. I found it necessary to put the wrap on ahead of time, at home, so it wouldn't drag on the ground. After I made this adjustment,...
...

msangela81 says "It's great for moms who carry their baby a lot." about Moby Wrap

I would definately recommend the Moby Wrap to a mom with a new baby. I used it a lot around my house and when going outside when my son was a newborn. I is especially usefull for those first couple months when a newborn needs a lot of cuddling and and closeness with his parents. My sone would have a fussy time every night for a while therem and it was nice to not have to hurt my back carrying him around to get him calmed down. I have not used it as much as he is almost eight months now, but he does still fit in it and I can still carry him easily with it. It is somewhat difficult to handle all of that material at once, especially in public. I do like to use it at home though. I like that it comes with instructions for different ways to wrap it. Although I only memorized one so far, I need to go back and learn some others for a bigger baby. And it is easily washed in a washing machine. Overall a good purchase for every new mom.
...

My baby was born early and weighed only 5 pounds. He also has bad reflux and needs to be held upright after feedings or he throws it all up, and fusses continuously. I chose the Moby Wrap because it says you can use it from 5-35 pounds, and other baby carriers started at 8 pounds. I was hesitant because I didn't want to tie it, but after watching the You Tube video my concerns disappeared. Tying and wearing the Moby Wrap is easy, and it is unbelievably comfortable! Even when my baby is HORRIBLY fussy he falls asleep in the Moby Wrap! We love to go for walks, and my son, now 2 months, puts his hands on my chest to push himself backward and holds his head up, looking around. He is fascinated by the view from the Moby Wrap as we walk the neighborhood! I also wear him while I do housework and cook. This will be the gift I give my friends as they have babies- I can't imagine being without it!
...

Babys should come home from the hospital with a wrap! I didnt get mine until my ds was about 6 months old, but I loved it!! I still use it and he is 14 moths now. It allows me to get work done around the house and still have my baby near me. There are some days when you just need 6 hands and this really helps with that. I know he enjoys riding around the house with me. The only time I wished I didn't wear it was clothes shopping, not so easy to wrap and unwrap anytime you want to try something on. I do love it for grocery shopping and house work. It is also great for going to the zoo, it is very breast feeding friendly also. I have used it while breast feeding on several occasions and it works great. Baby can fall right to sleep in a comfy little nuk. I can't say enough about the Moby Wrap I want to give one to every pregnant woman I see! I will use this with my next baby if I have one.
...

After trying a Snugli and a Hotsling for my Daughter I was discouraged on the idea of baby wearing.
The Snugli had buckles that dug into my skin and it pulled on my neck/shoulder muscles causing pain.
The Hotsling came with a DVD instructional video and after watching it about 10 times I was frustrated and my poor little girl was upset also.
When I found out I was pregnant again, I started reasearching other types of carriers. I decided against the Bjorn because it was too similar to the Snugli at a much higher price. I was put off by slings because of the experience we'd had with the Hotsling. This left me with only one stand-out option, a Moby.
I watched and re-watched the video online to see if I could grasp the concept of how it works. After showing it to my Husband (who tried to discourage me from trying another carrier) and my Family members, I decided I wanted to get one anyways.
I never tried it on before I had him, because I knew my pregnant belly wouldn't really allow me to get...
...

mkgrl says "The Moby Wrap is by far the best baby carrier I have ever used!" about Moby Wrap

When I was pregnant, I looked at all the different baby carriers and I liked the versatility of the Moby Wrap. It looked simple and easy to use and it looked comfortable.

When I got it and tried it out, I was in love! The Moby wrap uses the full back and shoulders and it really helped with the back pain that I was experiencing. The basic wrap actually serves as a back support. The baby is able to sit in it several ways.

Its easy to get the ends to drag on the ground but that is easily remedied by holding the ends over your arms or even roll up the ends.

One of the great things I love about it is how it makes the baby feel like he or she is still in the womb. I put my son in it and within minutes he is asleep.

Its also wonderful for husbands to use! I had an appointment to go to a week ago and my son was fussy. My husband was doing some things around the house and couldn't watch him so I pulled out the Moby and put it on my husband and he went about his project with our son all snuggly...
...

The Moby style wrap has been one of my "raves" since I discovered it. It can be used in several positions, so baby can be worn comfortably several ways. There are ways to tie it that will allow the baby to nurse discreetly, also. As my baby has gotten older, she's wanting to be with mommy more and more. The Moby style wrap allows her to stay in the action, and me to be hands free. It's very comfortable for both baby and mom, as it distributes baby's weight across the shoulders and all of your back. My baby never failed to fall asleep in it as a newborn.

This wrap, because of its versatility in positions, can be used into toddlerhood.

As far as drawbacks are concerned, it's fairly expensive to buy the name brand. A Moby-style wrap can be made, however, with 6 yards of semi stretchy fabric, for 1/4 the price! Also, the wrap can be hot, especially in the summer. However, because they can be made, you can simply pick out a lighter-weight fabric, and use it instead. It does...
...

i absolutely love my moby! i have a pink moby and my daughter absolutely loves sleeping in it. i always put it on by myself and never have problems with it. it only takes my less than1 min to put it on i learned really quick how to put it on. many people stare when i have it on as wondering what am i carrying. the only downside of this wrap is when its hot my baby sweats in it alot so id rather use my bjorn on a hot day. i will definitely use the wrap with every one of my children. i will use a different color if i have a boy ofcourse. also if you wash it and dry it in the dryer it will look like it shrunk at first but later on it will go back to its original size.
...

I was looking for a wrap that would help me "wear" my baby... we were planning to travel and being at the airport pushing a stroller didnt sound as fun... I bought the moby wrap three weeks before our trip so it would give me the chance to "master" it.

My surprise was big when the first time I tried it, I felt I was literally wrapped in a blanket trying to hold my baby at the same time... I felt like a bad wrapped tamale... seriously, I tried all the knots possible on it and it was still HUGE!! I am pretty short, 5 2" and weight 120lbs... I am not sure if being so short makes a difference when using this, but I would suggest you take the time to try it on before buying it.
...

I was looking for a carrier for my son but I noticed that many had a limited weight allowance (up to 30-35 pounds). With my son being about 24 pounds at that time, they wouldn't allow me to use them for a long time and they looked like they would be a little too snug for my chubby baby. I came across Moby wrap and realized that it was the best solution! I was going to travel alone with two kids across the country and needed my hands free for the carry-on items. And at one of the airports they forgot to put our stroller on the plane. It wasn't going to arrive at our destination until the next day. Can you imagine having to carry a child, carry-ons and make sure a 5-year old is following you? Moby wrap saved me! I can't imagine being without it in that situation. I had my baby securely on the front and my hands free for carry-ons. And my back wasn't killing me like it usually did if I carried my son around on my hip for awhile. I would definitely recomment Moby wrap to others.
...

I received my Moby as a gift with my first child and used it with some frequency. It always got comments from people in the stores worried that I was cutting off my daughter's circulation. My daughter, however, loved the Moby and sleep in it comfortably when she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. It allowed me to snuggle with her and still get things done around the house.

Now I'm using the Moby with my son and have gotten much quicker at taking it on and off. My second child also loves the Moby.

We travel a lot and found the Moby easy to wear in airports and on planes, easy to fold up and throw in a diaper bag, and quick to transfer from me to my husband since you don't have to mess with lots of buckles and straps.

I recommend you purchase this a few weeks before baby is born, read the instructions on how to use it, and even practice with a baby-sized doll to get the hang of it before trying with your wiggly newborn.
...
