So, I had recieved this item as a gift for christmas about 2 years ago. As someone who travels frequently for work, it was more of a necessity than anything. My parents purchased this model for me because of it's small size and durability. I do have to say that it fits well into any purse and is very light. I do find that ocasionally it turns on by itself and while I am at work I will hear "GPS Signal Lost". This is a phrase that I hear often from this machine. Each time I reach a destination and turn off the GPS, as I get ready to leave and turn it back on, it takes a good 15 - 20 minutes to 'find' itself again. This is very frustrating as sometimes I will turn it on while I am driving somewhere if I get lost on the way. Once it does finally pick up, It does quickly caluculate the route. Overall it is a good product and works well/ However, if you are looking for something that will give you speedy directions, you may want to continue your search.
...

Got this last year at Pep Boys' after Thanksgiving sale. I've bee VERY pleased with this little unit. It's easy to use, accurate, reliable, and most of all flexible. Having the card slot as opposed to lots of internal memory has been the best feature. As a GPS unit, it's above average. But with a little searching online, you can learn how to unlock your unit to reveal it's underlying Windows operating system. Now, I not only have a great GPS system, but I have a unit that plays movies and MP3's. With the headphone jack, I'm in business. ...

Easy to use. Updates quickly when you miss a turn. My main negatives are the routes it takes me....even when I have it set to take highways...it still try's to take me the back roads. Other than that it works great....

I have lived in my house 8 YEARS and my neighborhood still does not show up. This thing got me so lost in San Antonio because it is so far behind. I had to call my sister to mapquest where I was and how to get home! I called the company to complain and they told me it was the map makers fault. I called the map makers and they state they have provided updated maps but Mio has no plans to do an upgrade anytime soon. Better to spend the extra money and not get lost!...

This is a good gps unit, especially for the price. The road database isn't the best... I have found a few roads that are not in there. The system will crash and have to reboot very occasionally. However, these are small complaints. Overall I am quite happy with it!...

We bought this for my daughter for xmas. biggest mistake we ever made. It is very hard to program and takes you a different way to the same place each time you put it in. We ended up returning it to the store. The clerk there told us we were about the 15 th customer to return one since xmas.We got her a Garmin instead, worth every penny....

The Mio C220 is the basic. It takes some getting used to along with knowing what buttons to press. It does not allow you the ease of use as does the 230 or other Mios. The use of the Mio C220 is not just a few buttons to push, but it does get you where you are going. If I had the oportunity, I would have gotten the more current C230.
...

The biggest factor that drew me to the Mio DigiWalker GPS was the price....under $200. I wasn't willing to spend over $300, the price of most other brands.

Other reviews I read said how easy it is to use right out of the box. I love that because I'm not big on reading manuals. It's pretty easy to figure out.

One drawback was when, out of curiosity, I entered a destination that I have been to many times and the Mio gave me a crazy route that I would never have taken. Okay, so that was just one time. However, on another trip when I took a wrong turn, the Mio got me right back on track. I could've hugged it! I hate getting lost and I feel so much safer with the Mio.

Another feature that I love is that you can find restaurants, hotels, etc. While I was out shopping with my daughter in a neighborhood we were unfamiliar with, we wanted some coffee before heading home. The Mio pointed us to all the Starbucks in the area.

By the way, the Mio DigiWalker is small enough to fit into...
...

My step son got one of this and showed it to me and I was really impressed with it. Its easy to use although sometimes it will take you the scenic route. Its compact but the screen is easy to see. Maps are current. I've seen some that are much more expensive and this does pretty much what all the rest do at a fair price....

Mio Digi Walker-Model C220

Purchased this product on a recommendation from a friend.

Easy navigation features. Signal reception is fairly quick and constant. Recalculates instantly if you happen to "ignore" the spoken directions.

Unit could use a louder speaker. If windows are open while driving at higher speeds, it becomes harder to hear spoken directions, even when turned up. You may use a FM transmitter, or headphones to solve that issue. Does give a nice advance warning of upcoming turns.

Preloaded maps are pretty much up to date, although we have had an issue or two with the unit wanting us to drive over a foot bridge where a road used to exist in the past.

Unit is capable of planning most efficient route when more than one waypoint/address is entered.

Not all the bells and whistles of more expensive brands, but we are happy with this product and would not want to be without it.

...
